Ask Carole

Welcome! I created this blog to answer some of the questions people have been asking about the CTA's funding situation. We on the board have asked many of these same questions, and we want to help get the word out. So please feel free to send comments or questions to CTAboard@transitchicago.com, and check back regularly for answers and updates to our efforts to increase transit funding. -- Carole

Apologies

First, I want to apologize to all of you for going a month without a new posting. I know that most of you, especially Hugh, will not accept this as an excuse, but I have been extremely busy with my full-time job -- traveling extensively during most of the month of March. Having said that, as you have probably read, a lot is going on with CTA. As I mentioned before in my post, we are moving ahead with the Westside Corridor Service Expansion experiments which we expect to start to at the end of June. That is also when we will launch service on our newest line -- The Pink line. Can't wait to hear what you all think of the color.

We are also embarking on corridor studies for service enhancements on the Southeast, Southwest and Northwest sides. Yesterday, the Board approved extension of the Chicago Card fee waiver and an experimental C-Pass or Convention Pass which will be tested during the Upcoming Gay Games. In the next couple of days, I will try to update you on more activities going on at CTA that haven't hit the papers yet. In the meantime, continue to let me have it -- my skin thickens as we speak.
