Adelyn, Hadley and I went to the Children's Treehouse Museum with some of Curtis' family. Adelyn loves the place. Here she is with Elsie (her cousin).

This is Roy (Curtis' brother) and his wife Kim in the background. Roy played just as much as the kids did. He's a great uncle.

Here they are doing crafts.

This was Adelyn's all time favorite part of the whole place. A bridge that she ran back and forth over for about twenty minutes. I'm amazed that her attention span allowed for that!

Here she is making music.

And again with Blake (Curtis' brother).

Here she and Blake are pretending they're in an old fashioned school.

Here's Sophie (cousin) and Adelyn.

This one's not at the Treehouse but I wanted to post it anyway. This is my absolute favorite part about waking up two times a night every night to feed a baby. Every time, after he's done eating, this is what Hadley does...    That just makes it all worthwhile sometimes.  -Elise

Monday, May 5

I've finally decided to post a few pictures of our newest arrival (Hadley) - pictures of him, not just of other people (like Adelyn) doing things to him.

So, with no further adue... (I have no idea how to spell that last word; hopefully you get the idea.) Cue the drums...

I walked into the living room a couple of days ago to catch Adelyn "teaching" Hadley how to wear a hat...which is funny because we've never been able to get Adelyn to wear anything on her head. Oh well, I guess advice is free. Hadley can do with it what he pleases. At least she's concerned about him; and she did try to make up for whacking him with the hat. (I think the "make-up" hug was probably harder on him than the hat beating.)

A visit to the zoo

We took Adelyn to the zoo last week hoping she would be able to enjoy the animals now that she recognizes most of them. Though not the response I was hoping for, she did seem to enjoy herself. Her favorite was the meerkat...which she "chased" back and forth across the front of the cage several times. She was also quite fond of the fake alligator in the playground and the lake trout. Go figure. We take her to see exotic animals and she gets excited about the fake stuff and local fish. Oh well.
