Child's play

There we were on my bed, Conner was trying to wake up from him afternoon nap which was not going well b/c he was so ornery. I had an idea. "Conner there's a monster coming." He snapped out of his ornery behavior and said, "I save you Mom, hide," and he pulled a blanket up over us to hide from the monster. "Is he still there?" "HA HA HA," Conner cackled. "I save you Mom, go away monster, HEE AW!" Then he punched the air as if he were attacking something. "I got him!" These are the moments I love! I love playing with them, I love watching them play together.

"Conner do you want to go to the movies with me?" Kaily asked Conner as she was setting up her bed on the floor to watch a video. "YEAH!" Conner squealed with delight. He loves to watch movies with his sissy. Kaily then pulled all the blankets off the bed and made a little bed on the floor for Conner and her to lie down and watch "UP". They actually slept there all night on those little beds. When they woke this morning I could hear them chatting about animals and playing zoo. It was fun to be a bystander and just listen to them play and talk.

I LOVE being a mom! There are moments that aren't so fun and moments I wish would pass by faster than others, but really I don't know what I would do without these little people. I had a moment yesterday when I realized that Kaily is going to Kindergarten soon and I remembered when she was born and how I pictured this day coming. I didn't realize then with all the crying and the tantrums and the cuteness just how fast that day would come. It has made me take more time to be with them, to enjoy them, to play with them and be a kid with them.

Sickness

While were in NV I got really sick with a cold, which I have given to my children and husband. They got over it in a few days, 3-4. I am going on 2 weeks now with the same thing. It's actually gotten worse rather than better, which I hear is common with pregnancy. So at my 28 week visit for the baby I told my Dr. what was going on and she wrote me out a prescription to help with a sinus infection. I knew it was coming and I tried everything I could think of to ward it off, but to my dismay it came anyway. Now I have to take these awful smelling and tasting, when I can taste, pills twice a day for 10 days. I'm really not complaining about it, I'm just REALLY grateful for modern medicine that can help when all else fails. It's not the funnest thing to lie around all day feeling like you have an elephant sitting on your face while the rest of your body feels like the truck that brought the elephant hit you on the way in. I'm happy to say that after 3 days on the meds I am feeling almost back to my old self. My house had become a MESS and the dishes finally got done today. The laundry is no longer in piles in my room waiting to be done and I finally am starting to feel like I can accomplish things again.

Choo Choo Trains and Spiritual Feedings

We live so close to the old Ogden Depot that I couldn't resist taking Julie and the kids there and then take them on a modern train ride to SLC. It was a great idea. We took them inside and talked to them about what the building was once used for and then went to see the old trains. There, they got to climb and even go in some of the cars. I think we spent a good two hours there before we ventured to SLC on TRAX.

When we got to SLC we had lunch at the Lion House, an old house that used to be owned by Brigham Young, and toured Temple Square. Her kids had never been there and Kaily is getting more fun to take there too now that she asks more questions and knows more about what is going on and who people were. While we were at one of the Visitor Centers and after seeing the Christ statue we went on a tour about families and how they are eternal. I cried, of course. The thing that really struck me was the end though. Conner isn't one to talk very much when there are new people around, he isn't one to voice his opinion to very many people, but when the missionaries asked us our favorite part Conner spoke right up. "My favrite part is learning about Jesus." He looked so beautiful and spoke so clearly at that moment I couldn't help but think about 3rd Nephi when Christ is teaching the little children and how they opened their mouths and spoke. It was a great day!

Zoo Fun

*This post contains LOTS of pictures*
While Julie was in town we went to the zoo and met up with a few others that we went to High School with and their families. It was a blast and Julie bought our girls matching shirts, so cute! Julie's cousin came with us and we were SO glad that she did. She helped out so much and allowed us to visit while not worrying about where the kids were off to. It was good to see such old friends and be able to visit. So, 7 years, 3 spouses, 8 kids and 1 on the way later we were FINALLY able to be in the same place at the same time.

Peyton and Conner enjoying a Capri Sun

A Madagascar Hissing Cockroach; the kids got to touch and hold it if they wanted to. I don't think we had any takers on the holding part though, gross.

Baby Suri and Momma

All of our children except for two, who were sleeping at the time.

Birthdays

Two of my favorite people had their birthdays this week and I was lucky enough to have them in the same house at the same time. Clint's birthday was Tuesday and we didn't do much to celebrate due to the fact that he had school and work. Monday Clint, Julie and I stayed up late playing Clint's favorite game, Settlers of Catan and Seafarers of Catan. Then on Friday was Julie's birthday and Clint was nice enough to stay home with all the kids so we could enjoy a girls day out. We went shopping, to see Eclipse and out to lunch. Later that night we went out for shakes and played more Settlers. I am so grateful for these two people in my life. They have helped me change and grow so much and really what would a girl do without a great girlfriend in her life?!

Bear Lake

Over the fourth my family went to Bear Lake where we were able to EVERYONE. It was so great to see my brothers and their families. It has been 4 years since we were all together and the kids had a blast together. We kayaked, ate yummy food, the kids went swimming, built sand castles and then watched the kids destroy them and went to the park. We had a great time!

Baby Willis

This is our baby at 24 1/2 weeks. It is measuring a bit long in the legs still, but every thing else is right on track or at least close enough to it that they aren't going to change the date. It's HB is really strong and has slowed down a bit since my 20 week visit. It's not the clearest picture b/c it likes to push its head right into the placenta. It does look like it'll have the same round head as the other two, but that's all we can tell for now. It always likes to have its hands right close to its mouth, so right there you can see the little hand and tiny fingers. As of tomorrow, Friday, we will have 14 weeks to go. I have my next appointment the end of July.
