8 weeks..

Layton was 8 weeks old yesterday and I can't believe how interactive he has become!  He loves for you to talk or sing to him and he just grins so big!  He looks like he wants to giggle so bad and I can't wait to hear it once it does come out!!

He is full of expression and I'm starting to feel a little like the paparazzi!  Here he is during one of my attacks with the camera ;)

I also caught him when he found his thumb!!  I haven't really seen him suck it since but it was cute while it lasted.

He's also began playing with some of his toys!  He likes one rattle better than the rest.  I think it's because it is the lightest one but I love to watch him wave it around.  He hasn't quite figured out what he's supposed to do with it but he definitely puts the death grip on it.
Victoria and Caleb have been over this week now that they're out of school for the summer so we've been going out to the pool.  Layton can't get in yet since he hasn't had his 2 month shots so we do some serious lounging ;)

The kiddos have also managed to have a little fun with shaving cream??  They are crazy, but this was hysterical!  There a commercial we have on video to go along with this!
I love having them here and so does their little brother!  Here is some pure sweetness from the past few days.

Getting so big!

Hey guys!  My Layton is getting so big and changing so much!  I think he was around 3 weeks old the at the time of the last post and tomorrow he will be 6 weeks old!  We had our 1 month check up where he weighed 11 lbs 14 oz!  Here he is on his 1 month birthday.

He loves the ladies!! :)  We've been out and about visiting.  Here are some pictures of Layton with all his girl friends and "auntie's".  I LOVE the center picture with miss Isla and the one on the right with Mr. Brayden.  He was SO interested in the "baby".

We even ventured out to the Rangers ballpark!  It was little league day so Caleb and family got to walk to warning track on the field.  Gotta admit it was pretty cool :)
Layton did exceptionally well considering we got there 2 hrs early for the little league walk then we stayed the entire game!  The worst part was the beating sun and trying to keep him covered and cool at the same time.... next time will have to be an evening game or seats in the shade!  But, the Rangers won and we had a lot of fun :)

We've started playing a lot more with so many facial expressions.  I'm having a blast just watching him everyday :) These last photos are my favorite to date.  I love to see his big smile!

On the move

It's been a couple weeks since I've posted anything!  Sorry, we have been going non stop!  We spent last week all over DFW trying to get ready for my little brother's wedding.  We needed outfits for everyone!  Then, very unexpectedly, my step father was hospitalized and had two unplanned surgeries for significant carotid blockage!  He is home now and doing well, but the timing could not have been worse!  So, my picture taking has kind of been slacking not to mention I didn't take ANY pictures on Austin's wedding day and Layton had the cutest little outfit!  We did survive our first real road trip with all three kiddos which went much more smoothly than I expected :)  In the meantime Layton thinks he is such a big boy!  We had our 2 week check up where we found out he's definitely growing and gaining weight.  He is all the time trying to sit up and he's always holding his head up.  He's crazy.

I wish you could see the dancing he was doing in this shot. :) Also, he's almost 3 wks old and can only wear 3 month clothing!!  He's not missing any meals :)

I did remember my camera for the rehearsal dinner so here are a few pictures from that evening.

Layton with his new Aunt Sarah!

Cousin Johna with Layton.

My niece Nyla Nicole.  I always end up with several pictures of her on my camera :)

Pops getting some quality time.
My family with the happy couple Sarah and Austin and Pops (my dad)

Our family of 5 :)

These two make me smile!  My step-son Caleb and nephew Nash.  They play constantly and are alway trying to find more time to see each other!  Getting this picture was NOT easy... it meant they had to stop running wild for at least 5 seconds :)
My sister Shannon and brother Austin.

Hopefully I'll be able to steal some photos from the wedding eventually but for now I have none!

As a side note, while we were gone Layton's belly button stump FINALLY fell off!  So, we got to have our first real bath and he was a much bigger fan of being all the way in the water :)

Layton got to experience his activity mat for the the first time yesterday and it was so much fun watching him!  At first he was crying and then he started to realize all the colors and toys and really enjoyed it.  Here are a few pictures that make my heart smile :)

Yes, I believe that's a smile!
LOVE LOVE LOVE my Layton Samuel!!

A whole week old!

Well Layton is officially 1 week old today and so much has happened since the last post!  He was born on 4/14/11 at 9:29 pm.  He weighed 9 lbs 8 oz and was 20 3/4 in long!  We always thought we was big but never thought this big.

With that being said, we went in for an induction, but after sitting in the hospital all day it became clear the only way he was coming was by C-section.  Once that decision was made things went very fast and it all seems like a blur.

The surgery went very smoothly and Brandon did an excellent job keeping me calm and giving me play by play. :)  I also had the best CRNA.  I was so lucky to have her there!
All I heard the whole time was the entire team talking about how big he was!  Finally, after 9 months of waiting, Brandon brought our Layton Samuel over for me to see him. :) :) :) Soon after this is when we found out exactly how big he was!  Still amazed about the whole thing!!

We made it to recovery and this was my first time holding him.  We had a few minutes alone with him before all the family came back and it was wonderful!  Something else wonderful was the ice chips!!!  It was a long day with no liquids...

Layton Samuel Daigle

So that's how he got here and I have hundreds of pictures since then so here are a few of my favorites from week 1 of life.

Our door decoration that my sister handmade for a baby shower.  I love it!

Layton's first bath... he seems to like it okay.... THIS time! :)

So fresh and so clean, clean.

Layton with his sissy, Victoria.  She's going to be so good to him.  It's absolutely adorable how much she already loves him. :)

He also met his big brother Caleb.  Something about this picture totally melts my heart!

Pure sweetness!

This was at about 36 hr of life.  The shirt says it all... his mommy definitely loves him!!!

 More sissy kisses :)

It's go home day!!!  Such a peaceful face.

Quick shot of the last time we'll be in this hospital room :)

Yay!  First road trip, but most importantly it's a trip home!

Mommy's first bath time with Layton.  Not loving it so much anymore.  HaHa!  I'm blaming the cord stump which means no submerging into the water... "Mommy I'm cold!"

Look at that pouty face!
Love him to pieces.
More of sissy and brother.  And this pretty much wraps up our week one!

Let's get this party started!

Well it's week 40 of the pregnancy and I've definitely been procrastinating when it comes to starting the blog!  But, I'm excited about it and hope I can keep up with it.  The Nursery has been a slow process but Brandon has worked very hard to make it just like I wanted!  So, here are the pictures...

So, if you haven't heard me complain about it, my glider will not be here on time!  It's my fault I didn't order it sooner, but 10-12 weeks.. GEEZ that's a long time to wait!  When it does show up it will go in the vacant corner.

My puppies haven't quite figured out what's going on, but they know something's up.  Brandon has been way more strict on where they can and can't go and the nursery is a day to day guessing game.  Today it's a go.

This picture on the right I worked very hard on.  I wanted a picture of Brandon and I in the nursery and this is one of my all time favorite pictures.  The second thing I needed was more color on the wall.  So, I decided to glue color coordinated mosaic tiles to a blank canvas and stick our picture in the middle.  It worked out better than I had hoped so I'm very happy with the outcome!

The significance of this picture is the elephant.  Victoria got Layton a gift just from her and she was extremely excited to give it to me!  The elephant is from scentsy and it makes the room smell fabulous!  Also, she gave him two baby books that are in the shelves you can see in other pictures one being Goodnight Moon which was her very own baby book!  She's so sweet!  Layton will be blessed with a very loving big sissy!!!

Last but not least I needed to show a picture of the beautiful hardwood floors Brandon worked so hard on.  He's been such a trooper and I'm so proud of him!

Now we just need our little peanut to come on out!  We are beyond excited and very very anxious.  His due date is Tuesday, but incase he decides he wants to be like his momma and be late to everything we will be inducing on Thursday the 14th :)
