Perhaps the others of you out there do not spend your time working in primary at church but should you find yourself there, and should you find yourself trying to make copies of primary music for teachers and children I must share this tip with you. If it only helps one, it is enough. So here it is:
The primary kids are learning "How Firm A Foundation" this year for the primary program. We are learning verses 1 and 3. The mp3 available online for download contains all 7 verses. As much as I like listening to hymns this baby goes on for quite a while (and, please don't tell, after verse 3 I can't understand what they are singing--for a while I thought it was in a different language, hehe). Anyway, point being, I have been trying to figure out a way to cut the song down to just verses 1 and 3 but had no idea how to do it. So I called one of the young men in a neighboring ward who I heard was a bit of a whiz at this stuff. It turns out it's a piece of cake because I have one of these jobbies

and it has a little application called Garage Band. Sean (my computer guru whom I phoned up) walked me through the process and a whopping 2 minutes later I had a nicely cut down version of my hymn ready and waiting at my disposal.
BRILLIANT!
Thank you, computer, and thank you Sean. I was just pleased as punch and felt obligated to let the rest of you in on this sweet treat. (At least the very few of you that didn't already know about this.)
