The Wedding of the Year

Sorry I've been MIA for the last few weeks.
At first I really felt like I didn't have much to blog about.
Then we went to California for the biggest wedding since the Royal Wedding (and no, I'm not talking about the Kardashian wedding)

My sister married Jared on Saturday, August 27 in the LA Temple.

He still loves her even when she makes silly faces.
They had a beautiful reception in Ojai, even though it happened to be the hottest day of the year.

Jack was looking sharp in his suit.

He even had his own boutinerre and sported his goofy grin.

Uncle Will and Jack had matching green ties.

Jack wasn't in the best mood because of the heat and a long day, so we didn't get too many smiles
But then he met up with his friend Nicole, who we hear he had been kissing, hugging, and holding hands with at the temple. They had a blast dancing throughout the reception.

Maybe in about 20 years we'll be at Jack and Nicole's reception?

It was a great day and we were so happy to share it with Whitney and Jared!

Too Cute in a Suit

Jack is going to be attending several weddings in the next month.
So he got a suit so that he looks extra good.
He got some professional shots done and boy does he look cute!
There are too many cute pictures to choose your favorite!

Not Just a Tough Guy

Jack may look pretty tough in this picture, but he can also be pretty sensitive sometimes.
Ever since he had the stomach flu, he's had a little more compassion.
Sometimes we read a book with stories about Jesus. Whenever we get to the part about Jesus healing the sick, he always points at himself and says, "Me." He remembers being sick.
And he's been very sweet to Mom when she gets sick. If he hears me coughing or gagging (which happens far too often lately), he will come from wherever he is in the house and rub my back.
What a sweet little boy! (Shhh, don't tell him I told you he has a sweet side.)

28 Weeks

So we have made it to the 3rd trimester!
We are on the home stretch, or rather the massive stretch.
I feel like I'm getting bigger by the day and am getting increasingly uncomfortable.
A lot of the time it feels like the baby is resting on a nerve in my back and it makes it hard to walk.
Sleeping is even more difficult since it's hard to find a comfortable position with this basketball in my belly, plus I have to go to the bathroom so much and my toddler still doesn't sleep through the night.
I hate being pregnant in the summer because I feel hot constantly and am more swollen.
The baby is growing great and he is a very active guy. He can get in some pretty strong kicks and punches and I feel him at random times throughout the day. But he always stops moving when his dad wants to feel him.
He must have lots of hair because I have killer heartburn. Just like his brother.
I still have a bit of morning sickness - literally in the morning these days. After eating breakfast, most often cereal, I feel really nauseous. This happened at the end of my pregnancy with Jack too. ( These two pregnancies are sounding increasingly alike - just please make this baby be a better sleeper than his brother!)
Only 2 1/2 months until we meet our new little man!

Fun At Seven Peaks

This summer we got a Seven Peaks pass again and have had lots of fun swimming.
Each of the uncles also got passes and we've been able to meet up with them a couple of times.
Jack still hasn't got up the nerve to go down any of the big slides, but he loves floating the Lazy River in his tube, practicing his swim moves in the wave pool, playing with the toys at Adventure Bay, and he's recently discovered the little slides in the Tadpole Pool.
We try to go at least twice a week, but our days are numbered with summer nearing it's end.
If anyone wants to meet up, let me know!

Anniversary Adventures

We had a great 4th anniversary!
Dallin surprised me by taking the day off of work, so having him home was a huge gift.

We took our annual family picture.
It's crazy to think that next year there will be another boy in the picture.
Hopefully his grin won't be as goofy as his brother's.

In the afternoon, we dressed Jack up in his snazzy new suit for all the upcoming weddings.
We took him in to get his professional pics.
They turned out very cute and I'll post them when I get them next week.

We had a wonderful wedding, but the only sad thing was that we didn't have a cake.
The person that was supposed to do it just didn't show up. In fact, I've never heard from her since that day.
It was very sad and has been a bit of a sore spot.

Dallin surprised me by getting us a wedding cake this year.
His friend Chris does cakes on the side and it turned out gorgeous.
Plus it tasted delicious too!
So now after all these years, I can say I had a wedding cake.

Dallin also made a scrumptious dinner.
We had chicken parmesan, chili-cheese soup, stuffed zuchinni, garlic bread, and sparkling grape cider.
We had hoped to enjoy dinner without Jack.
He must have sensed that something was up because he took FOREVER to go to sleep.
But finally around 9 o'clock we were able to enjoy our dinner and then cake.

It was a wonderful anniversary and I'm so grateful for my husband for spoiling me so well!

4 Years...

To think we met over 8 years ago.
He was a bright eyed, fresh out of high school boy.
I was an older, wiser student teacher.

Our friendship grew and blossomed over Provo adventures, then through two years of letters.

Until it grew into love.

4 years ago today, we were married.

Awww...how young we were!

We've been on many adventures.

And watched our little family grow.

And we're still more in love than ever!
Happy 4th Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

Jumping Bean

Jack loves to jump and hop around.
Yesterday we were at Susie's house and Jack was the only kid there.
So he had free reign on the trampoline.
And he had a blast.

The Heart of the Matter

Jack playing Photo Booth

At both Jack's 18 month and 2 year wellness check, the doctor heard a heart murmur.
Since my brother has one and it's classified as innocent and he's never had any problems, I wasn't too concerned. Also Jack has seemed to healthy and active to have a severe heart problem.
But the doctor says when it comes to eyes and the heart, they have to get everything checked.
So today we visited a pediatric cardiologist at Primary Children's Hospital.
Jack thought it was really cool there. They had all the coolest toys and pictures.
He wasn't a fan of getting an EKG or his blood pressure checked.
But he didn't seem to mind when the doctor checked him out and listened to him.
In fact, he starting oinking like a pig during that part.
After checking everything out and asking lots of questions, the doctor determined that he has a Stills, or vibratory, murmur. Completely innocent and harmless.
He should outgrow it by the time he's 8.

So good news on the beat of Jack's heart!
