Muddy Fun

Today I let Jack outside to play. I kinda forgot that we still had puddles from the rain on Sunday. This is what Jack was doing when I came out to check on him!

He was having so much fun and was already soaked so I let him live it up. By the end his pants were really sagging!

Luckily Jack loves baths, or else I would have never convinced him to come inside!

My Dehydrator

For some time now I have been wanting a dehydrator do make more healthy snacks for Jack and to broaden our food storage possibilies. Well we bought an Excalibur Dehydrator last week! This weekend hit up the local farmers market then decided to try to dehydrate some stuff.

Butternut squash, beets, zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans....
...pears, apples, pinapple, and bananas!
I don't know how much you know about dehydrating things, but if you take the dried food and soak it in water it is resurrected and is back to normal! Amazing! I am thinking of all the meals I can totally dry for food storage. If anyone has any tips or recipes you use with your dehydrator I would love to hear :)

A house to call our own

We have been living in our new house for 9 days now. All the boxes are unpacked and most of our things are put away and organized. We are renting this house, however considering we just moved from university student housing that was 700 sq/ft, we really feel we are living as kings in our own house!

These are some of my favorite things about our house (those who have lived the apartment life can understand, those who haven't may not) :

A Dishwasher

A Disposal

Two Bathrooms

A Garage

Counter and Cupboard Space

A Yard

Friendly (and quiet) neighbors

Room for our dining table

Room to put both couches in our living room

Garbage & recycling cans right outside

Not sharing a wall/ceiling/floor with anyone else :)

We have had friends and family ask to see pics of our new place so I just decided it would be easier to take you on a video tour :)

A Utah Christmas

We went to Utah for Christmas this year! It was fun to have snow for the holidays. Jack has never played in the snow before so it was a special event :)Yes, this is the warmest coat (which is actually a hoodie) that our Southern California boy has!We went with my brother and his girlfriend to Temple Square. Jack had lots of fun with his cousins.

We went with Dan's family to see a BYU basketball game. It was Jack's first live basketball game and he was super excited about it. We taught him to say GO COUGARS and well, as you will see in this movie he is just a natural fan.

Christmas Eve included dinner and the nativity put on by the cousins! Jack was Joseph by default since he was the oldest boy and Mary was his 4 year old cousin :)Here are all the cute kids in their Christmas pj's. Christmas morning...
After Christmas in Utah we went home to a packed up house. We cleaned a couple of things and moved to Clovis, CA. What a crazy time to move! Don't worry, pictures of our new home will be coming shortly :)
