I turned the big 3-0 this weekend and Danny had given me choices of what I wanted to do to celebrate! So...We started the birthday week off with a fabulous dinner at the Melting Pot with Jen and Rick!
Then the weekend surprise get-a-way with Danny and Brayden :) I know most people wouldn't think taking the little one was a get-a-way, but it is also our 5th Wedding Anniversary coming up and he isn't coming on that surprise trip in July- so he got to come this time :)
Danny had told me:
- we were driving to where we were going
- we needed swim suits, but it wasn't a beach
- we needed good walking shoes
- the weather was going to be about the same as Houston
- we were staying in Texas
Friday morning we woke up super early and got the little one up...we unfortunetly found he had a 102degree temperature and after much thought, we decided he would be fine on the trip and if needed, my dad could call in prescriptions for him where we were going.
After getting through Houston, Danny let me open a fun Birthday Bag which had a very intricate outline/plan of the weekend- which I loved! We were headed to Grapevine, TX to stay at the Gaylord Texan (I had visited the Opryland Gaylord many years ago with the Prestons and had heard this one was just as amazing!)
The view from our balcony
After getting a complimentary upgrade to a "deluxe" suite, we headed to our room...I should say apartment!
We had an amazing dinner at the Ama Lur restaurant to celebrate my birthday once again. Brayden enjoyed the latin guitar band.
We had lunch with Danny's friends (and my blog friends)
Grant, Erin and Cadie...We had a wonderful time meeting them. Erin took a picture and I will steal a copy when she posts it :)
Brayden's Favorite...the fish and choo-choo trains!
Sunday we got up and I was treated to a wonderful massage and pedicure while Danny and Brayden packed up the room...
For lunch, we had an amazing brunch at the Riverwalk Cafe in the Gaylord. If you couldn't tell from the pictures, most of the resort is meant to look like the San Antonio Riverwalk...not sure why, but it does!

Sunday afternoon we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo- Brayden was beat, but we couldn't pass up seeing this amazing zoo that I have heard so much about. It was wonderful! Lots of shade- great animals and exhibits- we will be back!
THANK YOU to all of my friends and family that made my 30th birthday so much fun and meaningful! Can't wait to continue the celebrations with family on Monday :) Nothing beats a birthday week!
