The long awaited day is finally here! We’ve been getting a daily count down till this big day from Ben. Of course we had to start the morning off right with donuts!
All the kids showing me how old Ben is.
To celebrate Veterans Day Christopher had the day off. It seems pretty odd to me though that my Dad, who is a Veteran, had to go to work. Something doesn’t seem quite right about that.
Enjoying their chocolate milk and donuts before I ran Kallie to school. Ben decided to take the day off for his birthday.
Ben spent the morning playing poptropica online and reading his beloved books. After Andrew’s school we took the gang to see Wreck it Ralph, which was really cute. As you can tell we had many seats to choose from! After the movie I popped my head into Hotel Translavania and realized the theater had two people in it. Not wanting all those seats go to waste we decided to watch that one as well. Not as impressed with that movie
The kids FINALLY filled their bean jar!!!! They were so excited. They worked really hard for that!
Zack and Kallie were great little helpers making Ben’s birthday cake.
The birthday boys seat at dinner
We set up Grandma’s amazing ‘party in a box’ and loved it! She made Ben a paint ball birthday package that was so fun!
Ben starting his scavenger hunt to find his presents!
We all wrote notes to Ben on our sliding glass door. Andrew got really into it and wrote notes on the inside and the outside of the glass door
the next few are Ben hunting for his gifts on his scavenger hunt!
The loot!
Zack kept himself entertained by playing peek a boo with the table cloth. It was adorable.
Getting ready for dinner! Tacos, of course. Ben’s all time favorite.
Grandma included these fun crazy glasses in the gift bags. We had way too much fun with them during dinner.
As you can tell Ben was very disappointed in his birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa. It was very fitting it was a paint ball gun for his paint ball party!
While he was opening his presents Zack stayed busy by cracking open one of Ben’s bags of candy and eating them. Since they were peanut m&m’s we are pretty sure he isn’t allergic!
Chris just might steal this one.
The kids love the birthday scavenger hunts and decided to make one for Ben to find our gifts. The funny thing is Andrew kept getting the two hunts confused and would lead Ben astray or randomly appear with a present. next time I’m not going to have Andrew help with hiding the gifts!
the kids were so excited to give Ben his presents. They even stuffed 9 balloons with notes they wrote for Ben. He had fun trying to pop them without making any noise.
Birthday cake time!
Of course we had to put the whipped cream in his mouth and all over his face!
Kallie, Andrew, and Zack didn’t want to be left out either!
All in all I think Ben had a great birthday and is already fast asleep. Thank you for those of you who called him. He got so excited every time the phone rang! Sorry if I missed a few of your calls…..I’ll call you back
