sad day for the ol' dodge van
Today would have been a good day for my camera to be charged. After swimming lessons I was rewarding Lexi and Jacob with an ice-cream cone from McDonalds. Lindsay was in Jamie's van behind me. As I was pulling into the parking lot a nice gentleman decided to back up without looking. He came out of nowhere and hit right into my passenger tire area. I kids were a little shocked but no injury thank goodness. I just felt so bad for little Luke. He didn't cry but had a strange look on his face. I hated thinking about his little head. I was so lucky to have Jamie behind me, and also a police officer getting his coke from McDonalds. Jamie took the kids into McDonalds so they didn't have to wait in the hot sun, and the policeman called a tow truck for my poor van. We will see if it is worth repairing.
Friday swim

On friday a few friends from church have been going swimming. This has been a tradition for the moms in our ward ever since i've lived here and beyond. In the winter we go to the park, and in the summer we go to the L's pool. There are many kids who are not in this picture, but Jacob and Luke are both in the picture. To find them though is a bit like "where's waldo".

Sunday eating!

this is another occation with Jamie and Tucker

Our kids with Lexi, Jordyn, and Allyson
Why is it so fun to bake and eat on Sunday? I find it very enjoyable on a day of rest. Today we spent the afternoon with our good friends Jamie and Tucker. We did potluck style tacos. Jamie made some evil brownies, and I made a strawberry cake. The kids have so much fun playing together. It is hard to break them away, and we always end up staying longer than we should.
blog
At first I thought the purpose of this blog was to keep my family in Utah current with our lives. But now I've realized the purpose is for our family. This is my scrapbook. I've never been a good journal keeper, or scrapbooker so this is really good for me. So I don't really care if anybody looks at my posts, even though I get satisfaction from people's comments. My focus has changed, and I feel really good about it.

Saturday
Today was a typical Saturday for us. Dane was at scout camp friday to saturday. The kids and i got up early this morning to go garage saleing. I was really hoping to find a rocking chair/glider for Luke's new room. I didn't get up early enough though because I found the perfect glider with a sold tag on it. It was the only one in Kingsburg and Selma. After hauling the kids around for a couple hours only getting out twice I thought they deserved something fun. We stopped at a park in Selma. They had a great time just playing on the slides. As they were playing I started noticing a lot of homeless people coming to the park. I'm sure they were comepletly harmless, but i started feeling really uncomfortable because one of the women was really talkative, and was kinda getting worked up while we were talking about different subjects. It was really hard to talk Jacob, and Lindsay into leaving the park a little ealier than they thought was normal. Later today I cleaned out all the toys in Jacob's old room and packed them all into Lindsay room. We have been slowly combining the rooms. Jacob was very upset about me moving his dresser into Lindsay's room. He also cried about every toy that switched positions. I should have done it while he was gone. Then the kids played in the sprinkers, while Dane did lawns, and washed cars. I told the kids it was time to get in the bath because tomarrow is church. Jacob immediatley said " I'm getting sick now" He has never liked the thought of going to church. Dane and I got a big laugh out of his comment. I love my family, and enjoy these days of summer. Dane and I get so much enjoyment out of Lindsay, Jacob, and Luke.

only girls say sorry
Jacob had a rough day today. many of you know what that means. We went to target and he fell asleep on the way home. He never falls asleep during the day, so when he woke up he went crazy. He was a total bear. In a moment of tantrum he took one of the play bats and hit the window on the back door. He was shocked when it broke. I was too. I was suddenly at a loss of how to discipline such an unusual thing. I sent him to his room, and told him he could come out when he settled down, and apologized. After 20 minutes of refusing to say sorry, he broke down in tears and said "only girls say sorry, i don't want to say it." Finally after being in his room for 45 minutes he decided to say it. I guess Lindsay and I are the only ones who usually do wrong around here.

boys will be boys

So today we were looking for Jacob. It is unusual for him to be quiet for very long. His play is always very loud, and filled with lots of boy noises. Lindsay found Jacob cuddled up with Chico in the dog house. Jacob had taken Luke's baby blanket out of his crib, and wrapped Chico in it. A fun activity for a 100 degree day. This is Chico's dream come true to be loved like this.

FAMILY REUNION 2007

We have arrived home safely after a 10 day stay in Utah. It was a fun packed trip. Seven days of the trip were official reunion days. We went to Hale Center Theatre Beauty and the Beast, rented out the Spanish Fork pool, went to lagoon, boys golfing day, and had a special day at the temple doing G'ma and G'pa Westberg work. My favorite part of the trip was just watching the cousins have so much fun in G'ma and G'pa's back yard. Many hours were spent playing on the hammock. I couldn't believe how much fun the girls especially had on that thing. Our family stayed out in my parents motor-home. It was so cozy and convenient. There were many sleep-overs between the cousins. I loved seeing Emily and Trents adorable baby Heidi too. She has amazing cheeks, and they seems to be adjusting to parenthood so well. Luke got 3 new teeth while we were there. Now we is working on a fourth. It was a sleepless trip (as usual). Luke was extra clingy because of the teeth. I feel like I held him on my hip the whole time. He looks so grown up with his upper teeth growing in. My newborn is turning into a toddler too quickly. THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL TRIP MOM AND DAD!!!!!

tired!

Hardest part of being a Mom for me is being tired. Luke is teething, getting 4 teeth all at once. He is a very restless sleeper, and wakes up for long periods of time at night. I hope he is almost done with this round. Heading off for Utah tomarrow to see many of you. Can't wait. Hope to sleep tonight. Helen arrived today and was so helpful in getting us out the door. Our clothes will be pressed and crisp. Thank you Granny. We love you. I won't be blogging as much during trip so don't forget about me. See ya! Beth

Our garden/Luke

Luke had his first swing today. As soon as I put him in he started kicking his legs, and moving his body to get the swing to go. No fear.
our garden this year. Corn, beans, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, grapes, oranges, lemons, and pumpkins.
we have started eating the tomatoes, and beans. Still waiting on the rest.
In-between my two flower pots in my front flower bed this enormous plant started growing. I didn't know what it was, and Helen told me it was a pumpkin. Dane admits to smashing pumpkins out front with the kids last Halloween. It grows everyday, and I'm afraid what it might do to all my flowers, but I don't want to pull it out either. keep you posted.

Today was just practise!

Today was Lindsay's dress rehearsal for her recital on Friday. Her friend LindsEY, and mom Tracey came over so we could all get ready together. It has always been hard for me to put makeup on Lindsay. It scares me because she loves it soooo much, and it makes her look so grown up. I feel like it is a glimpse into the future of what she will look like. Anyway she looked so cute, and has absolutely zero stage fright. Jacob begged to stay and watch all the dances. We watched a few then went home. Friday we will see many more. GOOD LUCK LINDSAY!
Lindsay's picnic in the park.

The last week of school has been filled with fun. Yesterday we went to teapot park with Lindsay's class. They had a bounce house, parachute (which Jacob LOVED), free play, and pizza. Jacob was aloud to participate in all the activities. It was wonderful to observe Lindsay with all her friends from school. She is so confident, kind, and so happy in everything she does. We will miss Mrs. Manfredo, and all the cute kids in her class.

Jacob's 4th Birthday!

Jacob's favorite resturant is Denny's. He and Lindsay always get the rocket nuggets with fries and eat every last one. So for his birthday we brought our own spiderman cake, and Jamie's homemade icecream to Denny's. Our special guest included Granny, David, and Andy and family, Jordyn, and lexi and family. The kids got fake gross teeth in their gift bags.

Sleepless in Vegas

Last weekend we went to Vegas for a conference for Dane. For those of you who don't know, Dane is learning some new techniques using lasers. such as hair removal, scar, vein, etc. He is also learning about fillers, botox, and a few other skin treatments. Luke and I went with him, including our good friends Maricella, and Guieamenna. They came to hang out with me during the day, and also watched Luke one night so Dane and I could go to the Air Supply concert. That was painfully good by the way. Each song had so many good memories attached to them I could hardly stand it. (Most of the memories are being 7, and leaning to harmonize with them. They are right in my range.) Finally a concert Dane and I both enjoyed. It was a sleepless weekend. Both nights our hotel neighbors were drunk, and partying till 3 or 4 am. Since I've been a mother those kind of things affect me more. I just layed awake ALL NIGHT. It was worth it though, I loved going with Dane, and the girls.
THE BOYS

Jacob and Luke such a wonderful pair. I love saying "the boys" I hope they always feel like they have eachother. Jacob loves baby "Yuke". He has only ever been loving and playful with him. He feels so bad when he gets hurt, or is sad. As soon as Luke wakes up from a nap, jacob is the first to go in, and get in the crib, and entertain him. Luke always get a pet and a kiss before each nap. (He used to get 3, now we are down to 1) I love these boys.

Late on Saturday night

Hi, this is my very first blog. It will be short and sweet considering it is late, and Luke hasn't been sleeping well latley. Dane is still putting in a new garbage disposal. It had glass or something in it. Kids are tucked in there beds for now. Saw Shrek the third today. Entertaining, but not as good as the first of course. Well, I will try to figure out how to get pictures on this now. Just a cute picture of Luke driving Dane's new truck.
