Spring is here and so are the flowers!

Friday's good weather called our names and we couldn't resist it! It's hard to keep a 2 year old inside a small apartment for too long. The three of us made our way down to Temple Square to scope out the flowers and soak in as much sun as we could before the next storm came through. Ann and I followed William all over. He was in heaven, running from one spot to the next, with us trying to keep up with him. One reason we love our downtown neighborhood is that we get to watch Temple Square get ready for General Conference. The gardens were gorgeous, and I loved that we could enjoy them (we as in me. I don't think William really noticed that much).

We are SO glad spring is here!!

Duties of a big brother

William takes his role of big brother very seriously. He always shares with Baby Annie. He brings her her toys, and his. We often find a nice pile around her. (a few minutes after taking this picture, Emperor Zurg and many others had joined Potato Head)

He watches after her.

He loves to hold her, and is constantly showering her with hugs and kisses.

He often holds his sippy cup in her direction and makes a slurping sound, as if she were taking a drink, and holds his snack by her and makes a munching sound. I guess even pretending to share is better than not sharing at all!

It is so weird to say that we have kids, but it’s been so fun to see William be so sweet and tender with his little sister. As he always does, he’s amazed us with how well he’s handled the transition. It does help that she’s such a calm and content girl!

Why didn’t I think of this sooner?

DSC_6267

There is always so much to catch up on. I can’t believe our sweet Ann has been with us for 2 weeks. William was sick during her first week, and she caught it her second week. Poor girl! It’s so sad to hear such a little body cough so much. But she is an angel and we can’t get enough of her!

William has been such a good big brother. We’ve been trying to be creative as we’ve been trapped inside while Annie gets feeling better. We love the Crayola Window Markers (crayons?), and he’ll often sit on the counter in the bathroom and color on the mirrors. Well, the other day we opened the blinds on our sliding doors and were coloring, when William requested a road, so I did a huge loop across the length of the window/doors. He spent the next half an hour driving Lightning McQueen up, down, and around the loop. It was definitely one of those “Why didn’t I think of this before?” moments!

I love his tongue when he’s concentrating on something.

Now we are just ready for the warmer weather to be able to spend more time out on the balcony!
