Introducing Lincoln Matthew Bean

We got to the hospital anxious and ready for a baby!
He arrived at 3:30p.

Jackson wasn't totally sure about being at the hospital, wasn't sure why I was in bed, and wasn't sure about that baby.

Cressida loved him from the minute she saw him.

It didn't take long for Jackson to come around, though.

Happy family of FIVE !

So handsome.

The second day Jackson fell in love with his baby brother.

Going home. He was so tiny in that huge car seat.

4 days old.

5 days old.

Here's the story of his name. As is typical of us, we named him on our way out of the hospital when he was two days old. The name we chose was Roman Matthew. For the next two days, I just couldn't call him Roman, most of the time I couldn't even remember it, and I didn't think of him as Roman. But I would sometimes think, Lincoln, it would just come to my head when I would look at him. Then Dave came home from work last night and said that his first thought when he saw him was Lincoln. So, we are changing his name to Lincoln Matthew. It fits him much better, we have all been calling him that all day, we can remember it, he is Lincoln.
Lincoln was born on August 6th. Shawn (Matthew)'s birthday. (He an excited proud uncle!) He weighed 7lbs. 8 ounces. But quickly dropped to 6lbs 14 ounces. I think he is well on his way back up, though. He is so sweet and we are all totally in love with him. I spend as much time as I can just holding him, I know this time goes by so fast.

1st Day of School

Cressida started Kindergarten on August 3rd. She loves it once she gets into class. But the last few days she has had a little bit of a hard time wanting to go. Going everyday has been the biggest adjustment.

Jackson

My sweet Jackson broke his arm a few weeks ago. He was jumping from the bed to the chair, just being a boy. We have been lucky, this was our first Emergency Room visit with any of our kids. This was when we got home from the ER that night. Later he got a much smaller waterproof cast that has been much easier to live with. It hasn't slowed him down much at all. The only thing is that he makes me feed him, it is hard with his left hand to use silverware. But, he gets it off next week and life goes on!

Catching Up

Cressida graduated from pre-school. We loved Miss Sue! Cressida will miss her.
We had a birthday party for Cressida before we moved with all of her friends. So fun!

Cressida is a very girly girl.

We saw a parade. Jackson was shaking through the whole thing. He wasn't acting scared but it was really loud and he wasn't sure what was going on.

We decided that since we live on Kennecott land now we should go see what it is all about. It was SO COOL! It only costs $5 per car, you can watch a 15 minute video explaining everything, and see the mine. I definately recommend it.

We had a our traditional birthday party at Grandma Great's on the 24th of July. Cressida was not happy about sharing HER birthday with me. But that's okay, I have had my fair share of birthdays and am more than happy to let her take over from here. Too bad I still get older every year anyway.

More birthday presents!

Cressida started swim lessons shortly after we moved into the new house.
This was just a quick update of some of the things we have done this summer. The big thing was moving into the new house the beginning of July. I need to download more pictures and get up to date. The very biggest thing we did this summer is the new addition to our family. Check back soon for TONS of pictures.

Jackson's 2nd Birthday

We got him a basketball hoop. He LOVES basketball right now so he was pretty excited!

We went to the Zoo for Jackson's birthday. Grandpa Matt, Grandma Kathy, and Aunt Lindsay came with us!

This ball is always a kid favorite. Animals? What animals? There is a ball and water here!!

Grandma and Grandpa got Jackson his own bike, so now he doesn't have to ride Cressida's old pink and purple one that I ran over with the car.

But this was the most favorite! Aunt Lindsay totally hit the jackpot with this one. We have to bring it in the house when we are not outside. He sits in it to eat, to watch cartoons . . .
My sweet boy is not a baby anymore. He is the most polite kid EVER. He never forgets to say thank you. He even says it when we put him to bed! He might be the only kid in history to do that! He is a peacemaker and really good at sharing. He loves to give hugs, especially to Cressida. He LOVES babies and is so sweet with them! (Good thing since we have one coming.) He is such a BOY. He loves all boy things, cars, balls, dirt, sports . . . He is a rough and tumble kid. He loves his mommy the most right now, he is my little cuddle bug. He is definately a bright spot in our lives. Okay, before you start to think he is perfect, remember, he is two. He gets easily frustrated by things he can't do and when I can't understand what he is trying so hard to tell me. He can hold his own in a fight with Cressida. And for better or worse he is extremely independent. We love him so much.

Cressida's Dance Competition

That's Cressida on the far right. So cute! I love that girl.

Cressida was in her 1st dance competition on Saturday. It was SOO fun! She was so cute and so excited! She LOVES to perform on stage. I, on the other hand, was so nervous I was almost in tears. I didn't think they were ready. But they went out there and performed that dance better than I have ever seen them in practice AND . . . won 1st place in their division!! Yay!! The music started out with "Singing in the Rain" and then went into "It's Rainin' Men". So cute. We are going to really miss her class and especially her teacher when we move.

The House

How is it that both of my cameras and my camcorder all have dead batteries and none of the chargers are working? Anyway, no pictures yet of Jackson's 2nd birthday. But here are some pictures of our house that were sent to me. They are moving right along! Today we have our pre-drywall meeting (whatever that means). So it is starting to look like a home! We are excited and anxious for all of our big events this summer.

The House!

We are building a house in Daybreak in South Jordan! It is all happening really fast and we are really excited. In one day we finalized negotiations and had to choose all of our options. Then before we knew it it had been excavated and a foundation poured. We have a pretty good motivator written into the contract for it to be done by the end of June so that we will qualify for the government tax credit. So it is all happening really fast. Plus we need to move around then because Cressida starts Kindergarten and we are having a baby. It will be a fun summer!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came to our house! We had a really good day watching Conference, cooking, and cleaning. We had some of Dave's family over for dinner, that was fun, and Cressida loves a party! Cressida told me it was the best day ever! I love that!

21+ weeks. I look and feel 7 or 8 months already, I am in for a long summer. But I am SOO excited for this baby! I think it is actually seeing the baby during the ultrasound and then having pictures to look at, in combination with feeling better and feeling the baby move, I just become really attached and feel so much love for the baby around this time in my pregnancies. I can't wait! I am still scared to death to have three, though.
