So I Fell Into a Black Hole...

This did not post the way the preview said it would, sorry. Have fun figuring out which paragraph goes to which pic, i'm done for the night! Stupid Blogger!!!

Hello my friends, allow me to begin by apologizing for my ~4 MONTH ABSENCE!!!! I am profusely sorry to have denied you all the growing glory of our sweet Pemberly Ro, I have repented. So lets get on with what you've missed thus far.... shall we?

I wrote a book so i hope you have plenty of free time on your hands. The pics i posted are, for the most part in order and kind of fun to scroll through just see how big she has gotten. It amazes me how much older she looks now. at least enjoy the photos.

To begin, today was her 4 month check-up. She now weighs 14.5 lbs and is 25.5 inches, 75th percentile in every category, Yea! She also got 4 vaccinations today, 3 of which were shots. (I took these 2 pics before the shots, i did not feel like taking an after photo, but believe me she was very upset).

This is Ashley and I in August 2009 in Snowflake at Ben & Chelsea's wedding. No Ash is not pregnant in this pic, but she is now :D Little did she know that just ~5 months later she would be.

November 7, 2009 - The loveliest baby EVER came into the world, 3 weeks early i might add, and still a big kid.

A very proud Daddy, maybe a little bit tired too.

One of the 10,000 pictures we have of our sleeping angel.

This one was taken just a few weeks after the one above it - she looks so much older!

Daddy was babysitting so I could nap. We laid her propped up in her Boppy on the floor while Daddy worked. She woke up, got mad and wiggled down. Daddy noticed the Kodak moment. She was quite mad.

Pretty Smiles for Daddy, even if they were gas smiles.

Thanksgiving.... (I know, I'm WAY behind). We went to David's Mom's place in Eloy and had a wonderful evening with family, who adored Pem the whole time. This is her cousin Jack holding "Baby", he couldn't get enough of her.

We visited the Titan Missel Museum which is just a 5 minute drive from our house here in Sahuarita. Uncle Andrew had come to visit and we had a really fun time together. (if you were over 6ft you had to wear a hard hat). This was where i learned to nurse and walk at the same time, maybe TMI but i was proud of myself for sure.

We had visitors! Uncle Levi, Aunt Priscilla, Baby Thomas, Grammy. Grumpa and Jack came to visit us. Here we are at the park, "The Green" and enjoying each other's company in the living room. Grandpa completed the fun when he came a little later on that evening.

Here she is in all her glory, yes sleeping again, in her preferred sleeping position. She is in her swing seat, mouth open with hands and arms framing her pretty little face. She is quite content like this. as a side note, we have a 3D/4D ultrasound picture of her in this exact position, i guess some habits are tough to kick :)

Daddy had a work Christmas Party in Phoenix on December 9th, so she had just turned 1 month old. After the party we went to the Mesa Temple lights and had a really nice evening. Pemberly slept through most of the evening but did enjoy looking at al the pretty colorful lights when we first arrived.

One of the many cute outfits in her Christmas wardrobe. I just L.O.V.E. that startled, arms wide open, baby gesture. Makes me happy pretty baby.

Just in case you have forgotten what dave and I look like, i've included these two for your visual enjoyment. David's hair was so long and shaggy that i decided to straighten it. WE were very entertained :)

CHRISTMAS!!! Perhaps the best time of the entire year! We spent our holiday with the Beatty side in Snowflake this year. Here she is sleeping in Grandma's bassinet. Yes, she is sleeping once again. I warned you that we have about 10,000 pics, i wasn't kidding.

Due to the overwhelming amount of pictures we took during our Christmas Vacation, and many more of the events covered in this post, i only chose a few of my Faves, to see them all visit my Facebook page.

This was the very first time that most of her Beatty Aunts and Uncle got to see her and meet her, needless to say, she was the "New Toy" and everyone wanted a turn. No joke, we had a daily running list of who's turn or who called her next. It was crazy! This is one of the pics of her talking to Papa and telling him all about her troubles, during his turn :)

Sometimes she makes funny faces, i really liked this one, it reminds me of the big turtle thing on never-ending story, except Pem is much, much prettier than that creature.

We took a picture of everyone in the family taking turns holding her, here are Grandma and Papa. Very cute :)

This is how Pem and Daddy helped Mommy decorate the house for Christmas, they took a nap together in the chair. at least they were quiet and happy :)

The other great Christmas outfit, dubbed the "White Christmas" outfit, if you haven't seen that movie then your life is not complete. I'm pretty sure that seeing that movie a prerequisite to get into Heaven so you may want to get on that. Anyway, here she is being a silly Christmas Doll.

This one is of her in her Car seat in January when she was about 2 months old. She fills it up much more than she did before, little cutie.

We blessed her at our house on January 31st, 2010. We had a lot of family in from out of town, including Uncle Rob who is stationed in Korea with his family. He just so happened to in AZ for a conference. It was so awesome to get to see everyone! We love visitors!

This photo is kinda cool, and i'll tell you why. See that outfit that says Daddy's little girl? I wore that very same outfit when i was her age, no kidding. See the doll, not Pemberly, the other one. That was my doll that my Dad got for me when i was a baby, her name is Gena, just like my Grandma Beatty. Anyway, i found a picture from 1986 of myself posed this same way with this same doll wearing the same outfit, i couldn't resist re-creating it :)

In early Febuary Pem was 3 months old. We decided to take a family walk down to the park to stage a photo shoot for pretty Pem. I had soooo many faves from the day. Our camera accidently made her glow in a few of them, and it turned out to be an awesome effect, i haven't done anything to touch these pics up. LOL, gotta LOVE the stream of drool from her lips down to the blanket, and that face! Priceless.

Now i fast forward you to this past weekend, March 6th. We went to the Ren Fair and Pem got to meet Twig the Fairy. Twig thought she was so adorable, which she is of course, and tried to make a run for it with my baby. However she did eventually return Pemberly to her rightful owners. We had a god time being with our friends and family that met us there, love you guys!

AS you can see we've had our hands full. I hope you've enjoyed watching Pemberly grow through these pictures, it goes by so fast so don't blink. I promise i'll be better with this blog and keep you all updated.

Come visit us here again soon, Love you all!

Two Weeks Notice

Our baby is already 2 weeks old! Here are a few pics of the last 2 weeks! Enjoy!

I call this one "Milk Drunk with Gas Bubbles". ^^ above^^

These pants are newborn size and they are still too big!

That's a Decal on Daddy's shirt, not drool :)

Our sweet little chimp :)

sleeping baby = the right time to put the headband on her head.

"Mom! Get this bow off my head!"

she has to have her hands up by her face as she sleeps, too cute.

Flopsy baby ball.

Pemberly Ro Gunderson

Sorry I'm late getting the announcement out, we've been a little busy and sleepy around our house.

On November 4th (which marked 7 years that David and I have been together) we had an ultrasound to determine how big our little one was, which was a concern considering the large babies that are born to both sides of our family. The ultrasound estimated our baby at 9 lbs and 6 ounces and by the size of her head and tummy was estimated at 41 weeks. We were actually barely 37 weeks. They ordered a follow up ultrasound for the following day to double check the measurements with a different technician at another location. That ultrasound found her to weigh 9 lbs and 7 ounces and growth to be at 41 weeks. With 3 weeks to go and this being our 1st baby David and I had concerns about waiting another 3 weeks until i was due to deliver the baby, with the risk of a c-section being greater as she grew larger. Luckily our doctor soon adopted the same concerns.

We were ordered to have an amnio sentesis (SP?) done the same day (November 5th) to check the baby's lung development. I really didn't want to get the test done, but they refused to even mention an induction without the results of that test. We consented to the test and went straight over the Northwest Hospital and got ourselves checked in. They decided to test me for gestational diabetes, again, just in case that was why the baby was so big.

So they pricked my finger, took a reading and then made me drink what i can only describe as a
bottle of flat orange soda. Then they performed the amnio, and let me tell you that is far less than
pleasant! They pricked my finger again and determined that they'd have to draw blood because
some reading was too low. Agh! we'd already been at that hospital for about 5 hours, of course my
blood sugar was low i hadn't eaten for close to 7 hours, grrrrr. I was so anxious by this time, because
of all the needles and tests and being worried about our baby, that they had a super hard time getting
the blood they needed to draw. But they eventually got it and we got a call a few hours later from
our doctor. She told us that our babies lungs were developed and that they had scheduled an induction
at Tucson Medical Center for the next evening (November 6th).

Turns out the November 6th was a very popular day to have a baby because there wa no room in the inn.
David suggested we try the stable out back, but i told him no, we would wait for a room to open. almost
2 hours later we were getting settled into a room and i was getting drugs to soften the cervix and start
dilation. I was on Oxyocin for hours and hours and was literally in labor for around 27 hours (though from
push 1 to push end was a clean 29 minutes).

So proudly I officially announce the birth of our baby girl, Pemberly Ro Gunderson, born November 7th, 2009
at 9:59pm. She weighed 8 lbs and 8.5 ounces (not quite as big as her ultrasounds had stated) and was 20
and 1/2 inches long. I positive that she is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen! We came home on
November 9th and have so enjoyed having her here. Speaking of which i hear her calling, hungry again.
Enjoy her pics :)

By the way we've gotten a lot of questions about her name. If it sounds familiar then you are prolly also
familiar with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Pemberly is the name of Mr. Darci's estate (though
they spell it Pemberley), I've had that name picked out since I first discovered Pride and Prejudice. We
chose Ro for the middle name just because we liked how it flowed.
