Hello Ashbrook Circle

Some pictures, the house was outdated in a lot of ways. We got the financing figured out and closed on the house May 20th. We celebrated with pizza on the floor. Because our house was being rented, we moved in with Kristen and the remodel began.

To say this time of remodle and homelessnes was the hardest thing that ever happened to our marriage-would be an understatment. We disagreed about everything-and I mean EVERYTHING. I look at things in the house still and hate a lot of choices that were made and the thousands spent on things I didn't want or like.  Dave had strong opinions about a lot of interior design things. I tried to give Dave some things, and was cool-and now very much regreat being cool on those things.  I did fight for certain things and many of those things am glad for, example the 2 week argument about hardware. So glad I won that round. Every selection, every dollar, every communication, the timeline, how things were getting done was days of disagreements-a complete nightmare. I  won't list all the rounds I compromied in and let him win-it was a lot. Anyway, it's over, what's done is done and thank goodness our marriage gets a little break.  Now I'm slowly begging him to get some things wrapped up from the remodel and some projects we've found that need to get done. That's fun-not

Negativity over-it has been really great having some more space. The laudrey room, pantry, and door on the toilet room have been lifechanging-literally amazing. So glad. The extra space has been great, the ward has been so welcoming. We love our Ashbrook Circle House.

Moving out of Enid, moving in the Kristen, then moving out of Kristens, shuffling storgage all summer, remodeling at the same time-it was a lot. The night we slept here at Ashbrook in our beds was just so great. So many family memebers helped so much. Gary did all the real estate and remodel, many came to help with the demo and remodel, and moving so many times, and coming to help fix up our Enid house, and living with Kristen-it was so much help and support and time spent on our behalf. We are so grateful. This has been huge.

Goodbye Enid Street

Jan. 1st, I told Dave this was the year we are either remodling-or moving. It took him a while to come around to either idea and we began gearing up for a massive remodel. However, we walked into a great house in Hermosa Vista. We walked in and got that feeling. Whirlwind of a weekend, and our offer got accepted Easter Sunday. I was terrified. I cried and cried. For many reasons, mostly that we would be broke again, and the house was majorly outdated, and, and, and... I could go on. But, step one was to list our Enid house for rent. Getting it ready was a TON of work-mostly for me.  Super sad to see it go.

Show Time!

We took the girls to see Wicked-it was amazing and now they are obsessed.
Both the girls did the school play at Taylor-Newsies, and I got to help with the music a little bit. Much to our suprise-Allie got cast as Jack Kelly-a dream roll! How often do you as a girl get to a dream role as a boy? And Holly got cast as Spot. They were the best Newsies I've ever seen.

Will has been playing tons of volleyball. I love going to cheer him on.

Easter morning

Spring Break 2025

We conviced Dave to take us all to Disneyland again-a great time as always. We brought Jane along and she is such a joy.
Here he is-money bags himself.  A Disney miracle, David got Allie to ride all the rides-without having a huge meltdown-she handles the Incredicoaster and Space Mountain! Yeah!

Jane and Holly win the Disneyland marathon with Dave. they went the distance and stayed super late-all night

Our Catalina Island Day was quite the bummer. It looked like rain, so we called again and the scubba divers said they would still go out, and Will and I's zipline still said they were running! So-we boarded the ferry and crossed the ocean. Well-it was completely raining cats and dogs, everything was closed-everything. So we grabbed lunch and came right back. Total waste of time-but defintly a memory now.

Winter 2024

After many years of pain, I finally got my foot neuroma removed-through surgery. It's been a pain not being able to walk. I had the boot for a couple weeks-and then lived in my birkenstocks sandals. It's finally healing-next week I'm actually going to try a hike!

Show Choir Showcase night at Fuse

Taylor Orchestra Concert-I always love to see my girls play (and they are both 1st chair right now.) I just had my Taylor Junior High Choir concert also. I've been interning the past 8 weeks or so, and I got to conduct a song in the concert!

Galentines, yummy food, fun gifts, and good company

Will's first offical school dance. Jayna Hulse asked him to wiinter formal-he looks so grown up!

Holly has been doing National Academic League-and the matches are fun to go to! It's like team Jepordy.

Allie just finished doing "Witches Tea" and Fuse where she played Winefred Sanderson, she was in her element! And rocked her part!

Jesus Birthday, David, Whitney, and Holly's Birthday

Merry Christamas 2024! We did all our normal things! Bodine Christmas, Kolstad Christmas, and our own little family had a night together.

Christmas Sunday-we did a strings and piano number in church today-muchto my girls dismay

temple lights

Our sweet Holly turned 13! I was baked and cooked out-so we got the traditional bundt.

I turned 41-no Hawaii this yeat for me-can't go every year right? I labored in love to make my German Chocolate Cake-it was soooo worth it.

So Many Fun Things

Dave had the great idea to take the girls to the Lindsay Sterling concert. Kind of their 1st real concert. It was incredible! We all loved it!

First orchestra concert of the year. Both girls are 1st chair in their section.

I took a quick trip to Payson with some of the girls. Audrey has been having some major health issues lately and this was the 1st time Kasey could manage to get away. We hiked, crafted, and ate.

Will has been doing Molton Volleyball club again this fall. He's rocking i! He's a middle and blocks at the net. It's been super busy. He literally is gone every night and has tournaments on Saturday. I love getting to watch him play. There are great boys on his team and they all get along. His coach has taught him alot.

Holly going to Stake Teen Scene.

Grandma Erma turned 104. We still can't believe she is alive.

Halloween is looking different lately. Each of the kids went out with their friends. I was home alone!

Sage turned 21 and is offically legal.

Allie got her braces off! Yeah! There was many many tears over the past 2 years-but look at her beautfiul smile now.

Dave got released from the Bishopric. How we love Bishop Kent and Matt Hulse. It's been hard but good.

I took a trip to see Will play in his Molton Utah Tournament. I stayed with Emily and she took me to the BYU game. And we make it to the Provo City Center temple as well.  I think this was my first completly solo trip with a rental car. I drove in the snow even!

I loved watching the boys play. This was Will's first airplane ride. He was exhasted as it was about 28 hours non stop for him.

Holly's cello recial. She was very grumpy and tells me everyday how much she hates cello. Alas, I make her continue and she did a good job on her recital song. She is a gifted muscian and so I feel she must keep going. At least she loves her teacher.

Wicked-Part 1. The night before Thanksgivng we all went together. Us Kolstad girls were in tears. I just couldn't hold them back at the end of Defying Gravity. It was a fantastic movie and now my girls are OBSESSED.
