36 weeks

I had Dave take a belly pic of me today for Ali's scrapbook. I figured hey why not post it everyone loves a good belly pic hehe, just kidding. I'm finally 36 weeks and the end is in sight. I no longer feel like i'm going to be pregnant forever. Things are defiantly moving along. I'm having contractions (sporadic ones) and am at a 2 (don't ya love the details) :). It will still be awhile but hey i've come this far right I can hold out a few more weeks. Not that I really have a choice. Also wanted to post this adorable pic of my family. Dave is catching some ZZZZ's before work and Emma crawled up next to him for some snuggle time. Tickles my heart.
Also some fun little side notes...I finally got my kitchen aid, it works like a dream! I also tied Dave at Scrabble, thats the closest I have ever come to winning him. Don't get me wrong the boy isn't all that good (sorry hon) he just cheats in a way that is borderline and gets away with it. Next time Dave, I'll get ya next time!

"Lightning McQueeen BAMM"

Oh life....it sure can pop ya surprises huh. I was on my way to my mom's house Sat. morning. We were going to spend the day getting makeovers and shopping for "if this baby ever comes out of me clothes". Dave was working a 24 so I was excited to spend the day doing girl stuff with my mom and sister. We were approaching the Dam in Hyrum when all of a sudden my car went "BAMMM" the tires all locked and started squealing and I lost all control of the vehicle. I couldn't steer or stop or anything. Poor Emma starting wailing. Poor dave, I was on the phone with him (shame shame I know) he thought i was in an accident. So did I actually, anyways my car finally came to a safe halt (wheww) but it wouldn't go. I got out checked the tires thinking I had blown one or something. I couldn't see anything so I got back in my car and waited. No idea what else to do. Some good Samaritans stopped and helped push my car off the road and i caught a ride with my mom. It was kind of scary because the excitement or hitting the seatbelt or something put me into some pretty good contractions for a bit. Anyways to make a long story short I spent three days at my parents house while my dad fixed my car. A CV joint locked and blew and locked up all the other tires and my front axle broke. I was so excited when my dad got it done I was excited to get home and see my honey. Turns out it wasn't fixed. We only fixed the little problem. Its looking like transmission problems. Crap. Dave came and got me (sweet boy had worked all night and been in class all morning) and we had to leave "lightning McQueen" in Hyrum. Emma named our car. She loves telling the story of how lightning McQueen went Bam and got an owie and how she gave it kisses and how Grandpa pulled it. I love my car. Sigh, ah well, there is good in every story. I mean look at all the help we got from my parents (love ya guys) and the good Samaritans. While I was in Hyrum we were able to have a family dinner at my brothers house. Emma got to ride horses, big ones. She was such a big girl sitting on the horse by herself yelling "giddyup!" The hardest part was being away from dave. Anyways here is hoping we get it figured out soon, its our only car that will hold two car seats!

Roar!

Poor Dave, he finally had a few hours off so what do I do? I drag him out of bed well more accurately didn't let him go back to bed after a dentist apt. I was sooooo excited to have him home I thought it would be fun to take Em to the dinosaur park. My poor honey was like a zombie. Its hard for me to remember that when he is home I need to let him rest. I am home all the time with Em so I get excited to go do things when he is home. Will I ever learn....I must give him a full day of recovery. Did I mention this is a 108 hr. work week for the poor kid, plus he started school. Don't worry it won't always be like this, he only has two more shifts before training is over and then he will only be working one full time job and one per-diem versus 2 full time jobs. Anyways the dinosaur park was fun. Emma was so funny. She loved the dinosaurs from the comfort of Dave's shoulders or the safety of the stroller but if we tried to get her up close and personal with one she freaked. See the last picture. She also wasn't to fond of the growls coming from the bushes. She did fall in love with one little dinosaur, we couldn't get her off of it. She thought if was a horse. Nutty girl. Dave snuck in a little catnap when we got back and then we had a fun family night with pizza, milkshakes and a movie. I know I know not very nutritious but hey we were celebrating!

Scriver Family Reunion

This weekend was the Scriver Family reunion at Bear Lake. My family, Grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins were all there. My grandma was amazing. She supplied enough food, treats and toys for an army. It was fun seeing everyone. It rained off and on but we did get enough sun to play in the water. Dave wasn't able to make it, he was working a 24 for Southwest. I'm excited for him to finish his training. Its been crazy. I sure miss that boy!
Emma spent hours just playing in the sand.

Dear Tyler poising like a penguin. Ty sure was a trooper. Em really took to him but he didn't seem to mind. Even when she commanded him to sit in the sand by her chair and not move.

My mom, Crystal and Emma building a sandcastle

Me and Crys...isn't she tall and beautiful

My dad rigged a kite to his fishing pole. My dad is great at rigging things up. Emma loved it. Whenever she held it herself though the kite pulled her along. It was so funny.

County Fair

Its that time again-fair season!!! I just adore fair season. Something about hot sticky weather and the smell of animals and churros....whats not to love. I entered my scrapbooks again this year and did pretty well. My family one got best of division and Emma's got a first place. We pretty much went everyday this week. Why not, I mean its free and there are soooo many things to entertain Emma. The first day we went with Jess and Josh and my friend Deana and her little boy Landon. Had so much fun! The next day my parents and matt came up. Emma loved having grandma and grandpa there. They spoiled her and let her go on the fun rides i'm too cheap to pay for. Grandparents are great! Friday Dave had the day off so we got to enjoy the day with him. Everyday we were there we absolutely had to hit the pony rides. Emma is obsessed with animals.....especially horses. Once again I have to say it, the fair...so much FUN! Emma and her grandpa patiently waiting for the pony rides
Silly little Josh playing with the camera
Emma and Landon waiting for the pony rides
Emma had a blast "milking the cow" although afterwards she tried to drink it, ewww.

Fair food....Yum!

The petting zoo....Emma's second favorite thing.

Grandpa, Emma and Matt on a ride. FYI my dads stomach took hours to recover but the other two had an absolute blast.

of course....more pony rides

While my parents were here my dad was kind enough to watch Emma while my mom went with me to get a manicure and pedicure (my parents actually gave me the gift certificate for mothers day). I have to tell you I am hooked! Nothing beats sitting in a massage chair while having your hands and feet worked on. It was the ultimate pampering. Thanks mom and dad!!

so sweet

Did I ever mention I have the sweetest husband in the world! Dave came all the way home today on his three hrs. off in between jobs (he was just going to find somewhere to get some sleep). The sweet boy brought me flowers. I love flowers, especially daisys and roses. So I also have a funny for ya all! Did you know this week in Alaska the temperature is supposed to creep clear up to the 80s. Well the national weather service was concerned enough to issue a "severe sun advisory" Hehe isn't that just kill ya! Ive been laughing about that for hours.
Apparently Alaska is where I should be spending this pregnancy.

Snapshots of Our Week

Dave was in orientation for Southwest all week. This is him in his new uniform, handsome huh. He was on his way to work and I begged him for a pic. He grudgingly obliged me hehe. The boy has been busy! Tonights shift will end a 90 hr. work week for him. Me and Em sure love him. He works so hard to provide for our little family. He is willing to do anything so I can be a stay at home mom. Amazing.

My little Chef-Emma lovvvesss to help me cook. This is her helping me bake some zucchini bread. The apron and hat were a gift from my aunt and uncle. She insisists on wearing them whenever she helps.

She just looks so darn cute and official. FYI she stirred the mix for a good 15 minutes.

Emma's delivery truck-after helping me make the bread she helped me deliver it along with a baby present to a neighbor. We loaded the goods up on her bike and she was off. Slowly but surely. It took us 20 minutes to go 4 houses down. She loves her bike.
Library time and park play are staples of our week. This is Em after a trip to the library. I love it. She will sit for a good hour flipping through her books. She has to explore them on her own before she lets me read to her. Ever since she was a baby she has been a book worm. She won't go to bed without one. There has been no story time this month, i'm excited for it to start up again next month. Em loves it.

This particular day the power was out for 7 hrs. It was soooo hot. Our house got up to almost 90. From nap time until bed time Emma spent the day in her wading pool and playing with neighbor kids. Can I just tell ya what an awesome neighborhood we live in. While we were outside three different neighbors brought us ottor pops. It was fun to look around and see everyone just visiting and chilling on their front porches. I sure was thankful when the power came back on. I put Emma to bed in nothing but a diaper.

This is Emma blowing bubbles and being a fish

When Dave got home from work this morning and went to bed Emma went with him. Dave was just finishing a 20 hr shift and was beat. Emma missed him though so she was content to snuggle next to him for quite awhile. She loves her daddy.

Cousin Play Date

Once a month we try to get Emma together with all of her Miller side cousins for a play date. This month we hit Clearfield Aquatic center. The kids seemed to have a blast! I couldn't believe the progress Em has made in the pool. She has always liked water but only shallow water. She was great in the deep end. I got her to go all the way under numerous times. She was laughing, blowing bubbles and having a blast versus clinging to me. Em also got to go down her very first waterslide. Well big waterslide. It was so much fun watching the kids together. I'm excited Emma has so many cousins that are close in age.

A Saturday Morning HIke

This morning we decided it would be fun to get out of the house and go for a hike. We headed up Adam's canyon. Its a favorite but its also close by our house. We didn't allow enough time to make it to the falls but we had a great time anyways. It was so nice to get out in nature and stretch our legs and lungs a bit. We hiked about 2 1/2 miles with an elevation gain/loss of 1000. Emma and Howie were such good little hikers.

Sweet little Emma found a "scout seat" to take a break in.

These last pics are from Thursday night when we went to the drive-in with my family. FYI weeknights are the way to go! There was only a handful of other little familys. Meaning not crowded and we weren't smoked out. We saw the new movie about the Rat who cooks. The name escapes me, but it was really cute. It was fun hanging out with my family.

Sweet little cousins :)

Reassured

Yesterday I had a dr. apt and my dr was still really concerned because my belly is too small. Worried that the baby had stopped growing she scheduled an ultrasound for me this morning. Man I worried about it all night. Its scary when they tell you there could be something wrong with your baby. I really tried not to worry too much about it. I kept telling myself that she must be ok because she moves a ton and the same thing happened with Emma and Em was just fine. We met Dave after he got off of work and he came with me and Em. The baby is just fine. She is beautiful. Sorry no pics, when you are this far along everything is really really squished and its hard to get a good pic. Unless of course you want the back of a head or a leg bone or what not. Our little one is 4 lbs (great weight!) and has lots of hair. Cute huh. We are getting sooo excited for our little Ali to join us.
