Happy Thanksgiving???

This is going to be a long post just to warn you! So lately my right leg has been numb and the numbness has been moving into my stomach and into my arms. I didn't think much of it because I didn't have ANY pain what so ever, and I just thought that it was a pinched nerve from carrying my fat children around. Derek insisted that I go to the doctor. So I went to the doctor and the couldn't figure out what was going on with my body and they gave me some anti inflammatory pills to see if that would help and if it didn't then I would have an MRI done. I went back to the doctor because they didn't help at all, in fact I was becoming more numb! So they scheduled a MRI for me the next day. I had my MRI done on Wednesday and around 5 o'clock I received a phone call from the doctor saying that they saw an unusual spot on my upper back but they didn't get a very good picture of it. From what they could see their guess would be that it was Multiple Sclerosis, aka MS. I thought oh wow great news!! The doctor tole me that I would need more testing done and they scheduled me for Friday. Two hours later Derek's family came up and we all went to the jumpy toys at the Rex Center (I absolutely LOVE them!!) Derek took Karter down the huge slide like he does every other time but this time.................Karter broke his leg!! We went to the ER and they splinted it and it was the longest night of our lives.

The sweet little thing would still smile for the camera even though he had a broken leg.

The next day we spent Thanksgiving with both of our families and had a great time. It was fun to see all of them and spend some time with all of them.

Friday came around and it was back to the hospital for more testing. This time my doctor called and confirmed that I did in fact have MS. It was such a crazy week! We feel truly blessed though that these were the results! We were so nervous for something that could have been so much more serious! I am going to see specialists this week and learn about this disease that I have! With all of the hard times past it really has been a wonderful week! We have experienced so much love and support from all of those around us! Thank You! We will keep you posted.

First trip to the dentist / Halloween

I will try to catch up on everything that I haven't posted yet. For Halloween Kannon was a pirate and Karter was a chicken. Kannon had a blast this year and it was so fun to see him get so excited at each house. However, I think his favorite part about Halloween was carving "Punkmins" anyone that would do it with him he took them up on the offer he loved it!! I know this is really ridiculous, but I have never carved my own pumpkin that I can ever remember so Kannon and I did one together.

They really didn't want their pictures taken if you can tell by the look on their faces!!

Last week we took the boys to the dentist. Yes, we even took Karter. The Dentist recommended they come when they have their 1st tooth or by the time they turn one. Karter has 6 teeth so we took him too. It was a waist of money on Karter's end, but Kannon on the other hand........he had 3 cavities. He is getting them filled next week, I'm not sure how it will all go but the 1st visit went okay so I'm crossing my fingers.

I almost forgot....... Karter is CRAWLING!! It has taken him so long but now that he can move he is EVERYWHERE!!! He is loving being mobile and I was loving it for the 1st day or so. He is so much happier now that he can follow Kannon around. They just follow each other around getting into all sorts of trouble unloading every cupboard in the house! Karter has to be doing everything that Kannon does or he throws a HUGE fit just like his older brother!! I wonder how that works? For example........

I love this picture, he is waiving hi to the camera.

We finally moved Kannon over to a "big boy bed." We decided it was time after Karter fell off of his queen size bed!! Karter sleeps in the crib now and Kannon is in this Toddler bed. It was about time!! I'm sure I've missed some stuff, but this is all the exciting things I can think of!

Catch up!!

I think I've let you all know why I don't blog anymore. Derek takes the laptop to work and I'm computer-less!
Kannon is getting so excited for Halloween. He has been carving "Punkmins" and he thinks it is the best thing EVER!! We are always on the look out for pumpkins and Halloween lights. Today was the worst day at church I have had yet. I suppose when we have 3 kids it will be even worse! :) I had to play the organ today, after I got done I looked down and noticed that Derek was gone but Shannon (our neighbor) had both kids sitting next to her. I thought that was weird, but I couldn't come down untill the sacrament was over. So when it was done I came down, and..............................there was POOP everywhere!!! Karter had the WORST blow-out he has ever had. He was covered from head to toe, and there was poop all over the bench and the floor. Derek had gone out to get cleaning supplies and all the people around us were trying to help out one way or another. So we took Karter home and got him cleaned up and we were back at church. In Relief Society I was visited by one of the Nursery leaders and she said, "um Cody, Kannon didn't make it to the toilet fast enough!" So we left and came home and did laundry!!

Derek got a new T.V. a couple of weeks ago. He has been wanting a new flat screen but it was not in our budget. So he sold a town house and they gave him a new t.v. for it!! The box is still kicking around the house and this is what Derek and Kannon came up with.

Yes, they went down the stairs in the box! And they even talked me in to it. It was actually REALLY scary, but fun at the same time! What a great Sunday activity! :) Other than that we haven't been doing much. Karter is JUST about crawling. He is so slow, and it is making me crazy! I've got to the point that I just want him to be moving so he can get to what he wants!

He's GONE!!

I never thought it would be this hard, but I'm missing my little brother so much! He's going to be an awesome missionary though! We didn't get to go down to the MTC and drop him off, it's to hard to take two little monsters to Provo just to turn anround and come back. They don't understand anything so we said our goodbyes last night. I'm so proud of him and the man he has become!! I don't have any pics right now, I'll post some later. I just thought I would get this on here for memories sake!! We love you CLANSY!
Derek went to the doctor yesterday and he said that his back looks the same, so that is good news that it doesn't look worse! He doesn't have to wear a turttle shell. Kannon finally got over the flu after 5 days and Derek spent the night throwing up last night. This bug that is going around is insane! I'll get some pics up next post.

We are still alive! (Barely!!)

I haven't had a computer in a long time so I am way behind!! I'll just start with Labor Day and go from there. Things have been insane around our house!! For the Labor Day weekend we went camping in Leadore with my family. Clansy (my little brother) wanted to do that for his last family outing before he leaves. It was as good as camping can be!! We stayed for two nights, luckily Derek got us a hook up to a camper so life was a little better. We went Saturday morning and stayed till Monday. We went to church there smelling like smoke and looking like we had just come from our tents!! It was a lot of fun for the most part, not so much for Derek though. Derek and Clansy decided that they should go cliff jumping one last time before Clansy leaves. So that Wednesday before they went to Ririe and found the biggest cliff there of course!! They both jumped off, everything was fine, and then some more friends came and they had to show them how much fun it was so Derek went again. Second time, not so fun!! Derek BROKE HIS BACK!!!! He climbed back up the cliff and told me that his back hurt. I didn't think much of it because he had just climbed up the cliff! When we got home he collapsed and I knew he was hurt. That next morning we took him in to have X-Rays and he broke one of his vertebrae. He is seeing a specialist and they are watching how it heals. He has another appointment on Tuesday and we will see if it's healing ok on it's own or if he is going to be put in a turtle shell!! So camping was miserable for Derek but he was a good sport!!

On Sunday Kannon got bucked off his pony at Grandmas house! Just a few scrapes and bruises, but he says he'll just ride the other one next time. He has thrown up over 30 times tonight NO JOKE!! He is so sick with something! I feel so sad for him but he is a trooper! He also got POTTY TRAINED at the beginning of the week and he has only had 1 accident!

Karter is getting his two top teeth in right now and I'm just waiting for him to start puking with Kannon!

And I'm just trying to stay sane! That gets us caught up to current.

My brother leaves on his mission on Wednesday (the 23rd) I'm already missing him so much! He is going to be awesome! His farewell is on Sunday and then he's gone! I don't know what I'm going to do when my boys go, I can't stop crying with Clansy and he's not even my child!

Any way this is a boring post I'm sure, I just needed to get all our happenings down! And just because, here's Clans with the boys and Maylee right before he's out of here! We are going to miss him so much!

Behind once again!!

I can't seem to stay caught up on life these days!! We had such a busy week once again! I'll start at the begging and get through it! :) On Tuesday Karter ended up having his eye surgery. I was so nervous about making him go without food but it ended up ok. He woke up at 2:30 and I gave him some sleepy medicine, and then he woke up again at 5:30 and was STARVING!! I took him for a walk (I've never been on a walk that early in the morning in my life time), and he fell asleep again. He slept until we got to the doctor and then they took him from us and put him under. All went well, and it is so nice to see him with out booger eyes!!

Sorry for the poor quality picture, Derek took it with his phone. This is how they brought him back to us after he was all done!!

Wednesday all of my family got to be in the temple together. Clansy got to go through and everyone was there to support him. It was a really cool experience.

On Friday we went camping with my family up to Kelly Canyon. We had as much fun as you can have camping. I'm a really poor sport about camping, I hate taking kids and sleeping in a tent, but I made it through it. We went for a 4-wheeler ride that took around 3 to 4 hours and we were absolutely filthy!! I was excited to get everyone home and showered.

Today Kannon told me that he was going to sing his ABC's, as usual I said ok Kannon, and I just half tuned him out. I tuned back in when I noticed that he had made it to P, and then I just about died when he finished the WHOLE alphabet!! He is so stinking smart, we have been singing it to him these last couple of days not thinking much of it, but he can sing the whole thing!

An update of the week!

This is going to be a lengthy post! We have been so busy and I haven't had any time to sit down and catch up. I'll just start with Monday. On Monday Karter had his 6 month checkup. He weighed in at 20 pounds. He is in the 85th percentile for his weight and 98th percentile for height. I asked the doctor if there was anything we could do for his booger eyes because he has had the clogged tear duct problem ever since he was born, and it is just getting worse. So the doctor sent us over to the eye doctor to have him checked out. They wanted to do surgery the next morning on him but the anesthesiologist that was in for the week doesn't allow anyone to have food for 6 hours or more. That would definitely not be KARTER!! So we have scheduled the surgery for this Tuesday because the anesthesiologist that is in this weeks allows nursing babies to go 4 hours. However, ever since we brought him home from the doctor they have been perfectly clear until today so we will see what happens. I'm not worried about the surgery so much as I am making him go with out food!
Tuesday~ Kannon told me that he was going to go ride his new bike, and so I told him to go ahead and go try. His "new bike" is several months old and he has been trying all summer long to ride it but it is just to big for him and I have given up on teaching him. But.......HE DID IT! For some reason he could do it this time and he hasn't stopped since!
On Wednesday Kannon discovered what the ice cream truck really was. He thought it was pretty cool that some guy would drive around with fun music playing "handing out" ice cream to all the kids in the neighborhood. He chose the Sponge Bob popsicle of course!
Thursday was the shoe party! It was SO CRAZY but tons of fun. Derek couldn't believe how many women and shoes there were in his house, and decided he needed to get out of here quick because the two put together are never good! There were around 600 hundred shoes in here! These pictures don't even do it justice!! Derek headed up to the cabin that night with Kannon and his family. I headed up the next morning. On Friday we went fishing with all of the nephews and nieces, and then we took them to a swimming pool in Island Park. Saturday we all got tubes and rafts and floated down the river. It was so much fun!! Kannon loves spending time with all of his little boy cousins. Of course I struggled taking the camera with me. I just have a few pictures of Karter and McKeyan. And finally, Karter LOVES pop! Any time you pull out a pop can he goes nuts! It is so cute to watch him get so excited. He can't get enough of this stuff!

SHOE PARTY!!

For those of you who view our blog, I'm having a shoe party!! A few weeks ago I went to a family friends house and she does shoe parties. She asked if I would like to have one, and I said OF COURSE!! The party is called Recessionista. They come to your house and set out hundreds and hundreds of shoes. They are an awesome deal!! They range from $10 to $44 and they are all name brand shoes like: Kenneth Cole, Clarks, Michael Kors, Coach, Dr. Martin, Steve Madden, BCBG, Guess, Roxy, Hush Puppies, Skechers, and so many more. They are up to 60% off of what they would sale them at in the stores. Anyway, I just thought I would let any one who cared know, and let you know that you are invited if you would like to come check it out! It is a blast to see hundreds of shoes, and try them all on. The party is on this Thursday (July 23rd) from 6:30 to 8:30. Let me know if you would like to come check it out. You can get just a glimpse of a few shoes on http://www.recessionistaparty.blogspot.com/. Like I said everyone is invited!!

I'm SO funny!!

So my sister let me borrow this toy and Karter LOVES it!! He discovered that there was a mirror on it and he thinks he is the funniest thing EVER. He will laugh and laugh and just have a hay day under it. Big news for him he just turned 6 months and he can FINALLY roll over!! I haven't encouraged it at all but he figured out how to get his monstrous body over to the other side. Kannon rolled over at 3 1/2 months! Karter is just happy to be alive and not worried about going any where.

I love my boys! Life is always an adventure with them!!

What have we been up to?

It's been a while once again!! Life has been really crazy around here. I'll just start where I left off on my last post. Last weekend we went to the Eagen lakes with My parents and my brother Clint and his family. Kannon and Kaeson loved it!! The lake was really shallow and the boys could walk all the way across it and they thought that was pretty cool. My mom had surgery about three weeks ago and every thing was fine, and then she started to get really infected. She went to the Doctor last Monday and he told her that she would be back in the hospital first thing on Tuesday morning to have surgery once again. She ended up in the hospital for three days. We all took turns going up to visit her at the hospital, and making sure her house was clean so she could rest when she got home. She is doing much better now but hasn't made a full recovery yet.

We had a really busy 4th of July. Derek decided to put his new business in the parade. So we spent all week getting things ready for that as well as spending our whole 4th promoting his business. So far things are going good with it. After the parade and such we went to his parents house and watched fireworks from their back porch with his two sisters and their families. On the way home we stopped and had a little show of our own with my parents.

And finally, these are a few pictures of Derek's office. I forgot to take a before and after picture, but before we painted the walls were white and the chair rail was a dark brown. It also is not quite finished all of the way but it is getting close. I just need 48 hours in a day instead of 24!!

Best Baby / Worst Mom!

On Monday night we went to Derek's parents house. Derek's sister Angie was in town so we went down to say hi. Angie was holding Karter and said something about his tooth. I asked her what the heck she was talking about because Karter doesn't have any teeth yet. To make a long story short, Karter got his first tooth and I didn't even know it!! Somebody else had to find it for me because I'm so clueless. The reason why I had no idea was because he has been SO happy. He has had a yucky nose and been chewing on things a little bit but he is such a happy baby. Kannon didn't get his teeth till he was 8 months old and he was REALLY sick, so I was just shocked that Karter got his at 5 months. (I'm just trying to justify why I'm a bad mom!) Anyway, he's just happy and fat and we love him!! :)

Today is my Birthday and I was spoiled!! I have the sweetest husband. He went in with his parents and my parents on this picture of Christ that I have been wanting. I love this picture because all of the pictures of Christ have a little girl it seems like, but finally they made one with a little boy just for me! :)

Derek also got me this vinyl lettering to go on the wall, and these cute boxes. I LOVE them all.
And I need to post a few more pics just for my journaling. This is Derek putting his new grill together that he got for Father's Day.
And finally, Angie's kids have been in town all week so Kannon has had a chance to play with his cousins. We took them down to my mom and dad's house and let them ride the ponies and play around on the farm.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!

It's been a while since I posted last. We have been so busy lately it is crazy. I have been spending tons of time painting Derek's new office. I will post some pictures of it as soon as it is finished. He has been trying to get everything up and going for a new business he is starting with one of his co-workers and has been super busy himself. The weather has been so crappy with all of this rain, and I have had a hard time knowing how to keep Kannon occupied. We got him some of these bathtub paints and he has LOVED them.
Another thing that has kept him and Karter busy is this little toy that I borrowed from my sister. Derek doesn't like it to much because it is pink and flowery for a little girl, but it keeps them quiet and busy so I'm ok with it!! :) It was just supposed to be for Karter but Kannon thinks that he has to be under there with Karter.
Derek had a great Father's Day yesterday. (I think......that's what he told me anyway.) I got him a grill. He's been wanting one since we got married so I decided to get one. Why not?! Now he can cook dinner!! :)

Family Pictures

Yesterday we had our family pictures taken by my friend Brendi. She did an awesome job!! They would have been better if we would have lost 20 pounds for the event though. Thanks Brendi! Here are a few.

Our trip to Boise

This last weekend we took a little trip to Boise. Derek's nieces Rhyan and Brinley got baptized. We had so much fun!! It was so hot there and Jason's family (Derek's brother) lives in a subdivision with a pool. Kannon had so much fun swimming, he thought that he could just jump in and swim like the big kids. It only took once for him to realize that he couldn't jump in and go swimming on his own. :) Then we got him a life jacket. :)
The water was a little cold at first but that didn't stop him.Kannon, Derek, Brody and Tyson. (Kannon's cousins)

Derek with Jason's boys before the baptism. Derek actually got to speak at the girls baptism.
I love this picture of Kannon. He is checking out some ants.

Right before we went to Boise we took Kannon and Kaeson to the splash park. They weren't sure what to think about it at first but then they loved it.

And.... Clansy (my little brother) got his mission call to the Argentina Resario mission. He leaves September 23rd. We are going to miss him so much!
