An update of the week!

This is going to be a lengthy post! We have been so busy and I haven't had any time to sit down and catch up. I'll just start with Monday. On Monday Karter had his 6 month checkup. He weighed in at 20 pounds. He is in the 85th percentile for his weight and 98th percentile for height. I asked the doctor if there was anything we could do for his booger eyes because he has had the clogged tear duct problem ever since he was born, and it is just getting worse. So the doctor sent us over to the eye doctor to have him checked out. They wanted to do surgery the next morning on him but the anesthesiologist that was in for the week doesn't allow anyone to have food for 6 hours or more. That would definitely not be KARTER!! So we have scheduled the surgery for this Tuesday because the anesthesiologist that is in this weeks allows nursing babies to go 4 hours. However, ever since we brought him home from the doctor they have been perfectly clear until today so we will see what happens. I'm not worried about the surgery so much as I am making him go with out food!
Tuesday~ Kannon told me that he was going to go ride his new bike, and so I told him to go ahead and go try. His "new bike" is several months old and he has been trying all summer long to ride it but it is just to big for him and I have given up on teaching him. But.......HE DID IT! For some reason he could do it this time and he hasn't stopped since!
On Wednesday Kannon discovered what the ice cream truck really was. He thought it was pretty cool that some guy would drive around with fun music playing "handing out" ice cream to all the kids in the neighborhood. He chose the Sponge Bob popsicle of course!
Thursday was the shoe party! It was SO CRAZY but tons of fun. Derek couldn't believe how many women and shoes there were in his house, and decided he needed to get out of here quick because the two put together are never good! There were around 600 hundred shoes in here! These pictures don't even do it justice!! Derek headed up to the cabin that night with Kannon and his family. I headed up the next morning. On Friday we went fishing with all of the nephews and nieces, and then we took them to a swimming pool in Island Park. Saturday we all got tubes and rafts and floated down the river. It was so much fun!! Kannon loves spending time with all of his little boy cousins. Of course I struggled taking the camera with me. I just have a few pictures of Karter and McKeyan. And finally, Karter LOVES pop! Any time you pull out a pop can he goes nuts! It is so cute to watch him get so excited. He can't get enough of this stuff!

SHOE PARTY!!

For those of you who view our blog, I'm having a shoe party!! A few weeks ago I went to a family friends house and she does shoe parties. She asked if I would like to have one, and I said OF COURSE!! The party is called Recessionista. They come to your house and set out hundreds and hundreds of shoes. They are an awesome deal!! They range from $10 to $44 and they are all name brand shoes like: Kenneth Cole, Clarks, Michael Kors, Coach, Dr. Martin, Steve Madden, BCBG, Guess, Roxy, Hush Puppies, Skechers, and so many more. They are up to 60% off of what they would sale them at in the stores. Anyway, I just thought I would let any one who cared know, and let you know that you are invited if you would like to come check it out! It is a blast to see hundreds of shoes, and try them all on. The party is on this Thursday (July 23rd) from 6:30 to 8:30. Let me know if you would like to come check it out. You can get just a glimpse of a few shoes on http://www.recessionistaparty.blogspot.com/. Like I said everyone is invited!!

I'm SO funny!!

So my sister let me borrow this toy and Karter LOVES it!! He discovered that there was a mirror on it and he thinks he is the funniest thing EVER. He will laugh and laugh and just have a hay day under it. Big news for him he just turned 6 months and he can FINALLY roll over!! I haven't encouraged it at all but he figured out how to get his monstrous body over to the other side. Kannon rolled over at 3 1/2 months! Karter is just happy to be alive and not worried about going any where.

I love my boys! Life is always an adventure with them!!

What have we been up to?

It's been a while once again!! Life has been really crazy around here. I'll just start where I left off on my last post. Last weekend we went to the Eagen lakes with My parents and my brother Clint and his family. Kannon and Kaeson loved it!! The lake was really shallow and the boys could walk all the way across it and they thought that was pretty cool. My mom had surgery about three weeks ago and every thing was fine, and then she started to get really infected. She went to the Doctor last Monday and he told her that she would be back in the hospital first thing on Tuesday morning to have surgery once again. She ended up in the hospital for three days. We all took turns going up to visit her at the hospital, and making sure her house was clean so she could rest when she got home. She is doing much better now but hasn't made a full recovery yet.

We had a really busy 4th of July. Derek decided to put his new business in the parade. So we spent all week getting things ready for that as well as spending our whole 4th promoting his business. So far things are going good with it. After the parade and such we went to his parents house and watched fireworks from their back porch with his two sisters and their families. On the way home we stopped and had a little show of our own with my parents.

And finally, these are a few pictures of Derek's office. I forgot to take a before and after picture, but before we painted the walls were white and the chair rail was a dark brown. It also is not quite finished all of the way but it is getting close. I just need 48 hours in a day instead of 24!!
