My house

During the summer my lovely friend Julia took me to a workshop at The Craft Barn as a birthday treat. We had a great time with the fabulous Kathy Byrne. I used all sorts if techniques which I usually avoid such as painting, inking and stamping and I created this:

Love it!! Everybody had a different take in the decoration and all the finished houses looked fab!! Well done ladies and thanks to Julia and Kathy for a brilliant crafty day.

Learn Something New Everyday

I've started Shimelle's LSNE class again this year. I tried last year but didn't really get going as life got in the way of crafting!! Now I've got a decent camera on my phone I thought I'd try again this year. So, here is the cover of my album.

H!!

The next flag in the banner!!

Thursday, September 1

Early start!

I'm going in to school today to get ready for the new term. I thought I'd practise getting up early and so with time on my hands I'd decoupaged a couple of characters from my recent purchase from C&C - a Humphrey decoupage kit.

Wednesday, August 31

P is for ...

I've been having great fun making a name banner for a little lady I know. The basic banner shapes came ready cut and the rest is bits and bobs from my stash.

Tuesday, August 30

Another colour!

The summer holiday is nearly over, but for one reason or another I've not really had time to craft much. My Cricut came out to make this card I made for a reply to a wedding invite.

Sunday, July 31

Cricut creation

My first Cricut cut card!!!

A change of colour

The same cut as before but a different colourway.

Thursday, July 28

Cricut crazy!!

I love my Cricut!! I loved my Robo but this is just so simple!!

Just need to get more cartridges!! Have spent this afternoon browsing through the hundreds available. I feel a spending spree coming on!

Tuesday, July 26

Race for Life

A couple of weeks ago I took part in my first Race for Life. Had a fab time walking round with friends chatting!! The event inspired me to create my first scrap page in nearly two years!! Had a lovely crafty day yesterday - lots of crafty ideas in the pipeline!!

Monday, July 25

Let the holidays begin!!

What better way to start the holidays than with a new toy!!

I've had a Craft Robo for several years bit have found the effort of linking it to a PC a pain as I'm now a Mac girl and my old PC is extremely slow and bothersome. So I thought the time was right for a basic Cricut machine. Having seen so many demos on TV it was like welcoming an old friend. It's so easy to use!! Luckily a friend had given me a voucher to spend on crafty stuff and this seemed like the perfect choice as I've got loads of papers and embellishments and didn't just want to buy adhesives. I'm now trawling around the auction sites looking for cartridges!! What a glorious summer I shall have!!

Monday, June 20

First of many!!

I've used one of my hand made toppers on a simple card. Like the effect - just as well really as I have about 20 toppers made with my Lacey circle die!

Sunday, June 19

Lovely Laceys

I've had a busy time with my circle punch and new Lacey Circle Nesties!! I used up lots of spare images and paper scraps to make lots of pretty toppers which are the perfect size for A6 cards. A touch of ribbon, a sentiment and the odd bloom will finish them to perfection!!

Saturday, June 18

Lacey

I love my cuttlebug and I love using up scraps, so these Lacey circle nestabilities are perfect. At the moment I have one circle punch, but am waiting for some circle nesties to arrive from eBay to broaden my circular horizons!!

Wednesday, June 15

Binned bear 3

And again!!!!

Tuesday, June 14

Binned bear 2

Another old card remodelled!!

Monday, June 13

Binned bear

Another card made from an old card destined for the rubbish bin.

Sunday, June 12

Recycled wishes

Another card made from an old birthday card and some stickers!

Saturday, June 11

Scraps

A while ago I sorted out a huge heap of old birthday and Christmas cards and cut out useful images or sentiments from them.

I'm now beginning to use them to make some VERY quick cards!!!

Wednesday, June 1

The Craft Barn

I went on an adventure today with a trip to The Craft Barn with my friend Charlol. I could have bought everything in the shop but settled for some Sissix flower dies. Have been turning scraps into flowers since I arrived home!!

Saturday, May 28

They're here!

Look what arrived this morning!!

Woohoo!!

Saturday, May 21

Winners!!

Time for celebrations! For the first time ever, the teachers win the PTA quiz night!!

Time for a midnight snack, as brain is too busy to sleep yet!!! Too many answers whirring around!!!

Thursday, May 19

Birthday boy!

My youngest nephew is 17 today. Having made a Facebook card for his brother, I was a bit stumped for ideas. Looking at my phone I remembered that he had am iPhone. I printed out a large picture of the phone for the base card and then edited pictures of him, and logos which would have significance for him, to create the button icons. I was very pleased with the result ... and so was he!

Tuesday, May 17

Busy, busy, busy

SATs are over and now the real work begins - preparing the children for secondary school as well as organising all of the end of primary school events. It's only Tuesday and I'm looking forward to the weekend already!!

Sunday, May 15

I love to eat!!

This is turning out to be an 'edible' weekend. Friday evening out for a meal with school colleagues. Saturday dinner round at a friend's while we cheered (the songs) and booed (the votes!) at Eurovision. Now I'm getting ready for my regular garden centre cafe lunch. The best thing about weekends like this is that I don't have to cook!!

Friday, May 13

Fridaaaaaaayyyyy!!

It's been a long week - the first five day week since before the Easter holiday!! It's also been SATs week for Year Six. Busy, busy, busy. Celebrated the successes of the week with another manicure. This time a French (or maybe an American - not sure of the difference!) manicure.

Monday, May 9

Away from it all

Rubbish day! Wish I was here!!!!

Sunday, May 8

Rainy Sunday

It's not often I welcome the rain, but I'd set aside today to catch up on paperwork for school, housework and a bit of crafting, so I'm pleased there will be no temptation to go out or laze in the garden. I've even scheduled a lot of mind numbing TV to accompany my tasks - programmed which I don't have to concentrate on, or watch carefully, but still get the gist of what's going on!!

(It's all about getting the right balance of work and play!)

Saturday, May 7

SIMply awful

My SIM card needs replacing and will take 3-4 days!!! Not a happy bunny!! Don't expect I'll get flowers to say sorry!!!

Friday, May 6

On a mission!!

Off to Orange and Apple tomorrow to try to sort out this silly iPhone!!! (If I had a Blackberry this would make it a very fruity day!!)

Thursday, May 5

And so to bed!!

I have just spent the evening trying to tell my iPhone that despite it's 'No SIM' message and refusal to live up to it's name and be a phone, there is a Sim Card in place and it needs to recognise it!! I'm giving up now and going to bed! Ggggggrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Tuesday, May 3

Oh deer!!

After a lovely lunch with friends yesterday, we came home through Richmond Park. It was packed with people and deer, except they weren't on my side of the car, so my photo has deer in the far distance only!!

Monday, May 2

A grand day out!!

So what did I do? I started at the Grand Designs Live exhibition at ExCel and saw John Burton Race giving a cookery demo.

I walked around the outside and realised how near London City Airport was!

Got the tube to Stratford and caught a glimpse if the Olympic Park, but then forgot to take a photo!!
The final stop was Canary Wharf.

This is somewhere I must go back to as I discovered a huge shopping mall underneath it!
A fab day out!! Now what does today bring?? Come back tomorrow to find out!!

Sunday, May 1

Loooonnnnnngggg weekend

Ooh, another day off!! It doesn't seem like a Sunday. With so many holidays recently I'm completely out of my routine! So what to do today? A cycle ride?

A lazy PJ day?

Anyone for cricket?

A bit of baking?

You'll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out!!

Saturday, April 30

Wedding Breakfast

So, what did you do yesterday? I breakfasted with friends and then joined in with the service in TV. We had the order of service so that we could join in with the hymns and the dress code was red, white and blue. An occasion to remember. As many special celebrations revolve around food I thought this card appropriate!

Friday, April 29

Royal wedding

Did you get an invite? I think mine got lost in the post! I'm off to a friend's this morning for a royal wedding breakfast before watching the service - and joining in with our order of service. Now which card should I send?

Thursday, April 28

Hoppy Birthday!

I don't know anyone with a birthday today, but I wanted to share another of the Pink Cat Studio digi stamps. More bunnies, but I thought these didn't have to be used just for Easter as they didn't have any eggs in them. I went for easel cards as they are my current favourite for small cards, adding a bit more interest.

Wednesday, April 27

TV bear

Here are a couple more cards from the Paddington kit with scenes in 3D TVs! A bit of a fiddle to make as the sides are all folded to create different layers. I also didn't quite position things right so Paddington is hidden behind the control panel!!
