Summer time is almost over...

So, we are winding down to the last days of summer....I went out on the kayak on the ocean and took a picture of the shore. Around here I a known as the guy who paddled 2 miles out to the buoy, so whenever I see some of them they ask me "you going out to to the buoy today? But this picture is not two miles out, just about 500 yards. Anyways.... Last night we had supper on the beach and then we all went and played in the waves. It was a ton of fun and the girls all caught the same wave (with a little help from Daddy). It was a ton of fun. So, just a few days left of summer. It has been good.

Bro and Family

So my brother and his family came to visit for the weekend. It was so much fun. We went to the beach, he went to a hockey tournament I played in. But, by far the best part was sitting on the porch every night with Micah, Carine, and my wife Chris and eating supper. The kids would be in watching TV and we would just sit and talk and laugh. It was great. here are a few pictures..

At the airport..

So, I am flying back from a conference in Chicago. It was at Willow Creek and had some great speakers. But with all the stuff in the news I figured I needed to get to the airport early. My flight leaves at 1:30, so from what I was reading I was thinking a good three hours. So how long does it take me? Five minutes, tops. And that includes changing my seat. No strip search, no quizes on if my iPod can change into a liquid, heck, I did not even get the wand and I have yet to see anyone with large weapons. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. But this was sorta my adventure for the day... So, here I will sit for the next 3 hours. Just me, U2, my weekend addition of the WSJ (a big plus). And if a stranger calls and says that they are in Ohare and they concerned about me sitting still for so long, just tell them not to worry, and if they just won't let it go, tell them to call the TSA and tell them my iPod has a bootleg song on it......

12 days...

So my wife Chris has been gone 12 days, and so I thought I would list the things I did when Chris was away...
1. I played probably 15 hours of hockey. Including 3 games and one penalty shot.
2. I ate large amounts of protien, mainly in the form of grilled meat.
3. I worked longer hours.
4. I stayed up late watching TV.
5. I cleaned the house really well.
6. I tried put a new screen door on, it would not work.
7. I mowed the yard and had a "fun time" with a sewer line problem we had.
8. I had my directors over for supper.
9. I talked to our dog daisy, a lot.
10. I went to the ocean and stared at the waves.
11. I had a crown put on my tooth (fun fun)
12. I was lonely.
13. I was lonely
14. I was lonely.

Yes, being without your cute wife is no fun. So , it is nice to have her coming home soon. My hockey game improved, but its not quite the same to improve by yourself.
