Cohen: Twenty-Three Months

Little Man will be two next month. TWO!I have no idea where the past two years have gone. He has gone from my little baby boy to my little man so quickly.  It makes me so sad and ache for time to slow down.  Here's what up with Cohen at 23 months:
  • Is back to sleeping great and taking a good 2-3  hour nap every day.
  • He is really into figurines lately and loves to carry around his guys.
  • He is still not into eating meat, so I still sneak it into his diet through quesadillas. He will eat a cheeseburger from In-N-Out though.
  • His favorite food is still eggs.  Scrambled. He can't get enough of them and would probably eat them for every meal if I'd give them to him. He also really likes apples, bananas, green beans, cheese, pizza, chicken tortilla soup, lasagna, crackers, chocolate chip cookies, watermelon, carrots, peas, black beans, french toast, pancakes, and potatoes.
  • He won't drink anything except water and milk.
  • He can sign cookie and tries to say the word, it sounds like he is saying, "cook"
  • He loves to play outside and gets sad whenever I make him come back inside.  He really loves to play in our sandbox.
  • He also loves to play in water.  He loves bath time, especially if he gets to take a bath alone. (So Taylor isn't picking on him, haha)
  • He is still nursing three times a day, and I don't think he is willing to give that up any time soon.  I nurse him when he wakes up in the morning, right before his nap and right before bedtime. He still hasn't bitten me, so I really don't mind.
  • He loves to go play at the park and his favorite thing to do is swing.  He laughs and grins from ear to ear the whole time he is swinging.
  • He loves animals and gets so excited when we see the ducks are the park. We really need to take this kid to the zoo or the aquarium.
  • He loves music and always runs and around the family room and dances when he hears music.
  • He he still loves to watch TV. He seriously would watch it all. day. long. if I would let him.  His favorite shows are My Friends Tigger & Pooh and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  His favorite movies are any Pooh movie, Toy Story 3, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, and Bolt.
  • He is still wearing size 3 diapers, 18 month size clothing, and size 4 shoes.

Little Cheeser

I took some pictures of Cohen with his new Buzz Lightyear toy, because he was being so cute with it.  Giving him hugs, kissing him, and holding onto so tightly, because he did not want anyone else to take him.  It was cracking me up, because he was being such a little cheeser.  He has never smiled for the camera before, without us pulling silly faces or something to get him to.  It was so cute to watch him pull these silly smiling faces whenever he'd see the camera.  It made me so happy and so sad at the same time.  Happy, because he's such a cute little boy, and oh! how I love him. But sad, because he is growing up and quickly becoming a little boy and my baby is disappearing right before my eyes.  I wish I could freeze time and bottle up any babyness that he has left.

Sensory Play

Taylor was really bored yesterday.  We had already watched Tinkerbell and Bolt, so I didn't want her watching anymore TV. She also didn't want to go play outside and so I was trying to think of something for her to do when I remembered she liked playing with shaving cream. After she played with it for a while, I added some rice to it to change up the texture.  It entertained her for a good half hour... and then I washed her off in the sink and she climbed up into it and played in the water for another 20 minutes or so.

A Swinging Good Time

One of the kids favorite things to do is go play at the park.  We found one pretty close to our house that hardly ever has other kids playing at it, so we usually get it to ourselves.  The kids loves to run around and play, go down the slides and especially swing. We went tonight, and the kids had a lot of fun, as usual.

Fun With Caitlin

Today, my cute little niece, Caitlin, came to spend the day with us.  Taylor was so excited that she was here and was her little shadow all day long.  We had fun watching movies, eating popcorn and playing.

Cohen had fun playing behind the couch and the wall in the pillows. He's such a cute little boy.  He loves to hide his toys underneath the couch and then get them back out and then hide them again.

Down syndrome Pool Party

Yesterday, Taylor and I went up to Salt Lake to a Down syndrome playgroup pool party.  It was so much fun to finally go meet some of the people we've met online.  Taylor had a blast.  She just wanted to jump off the side over and over and over.  When I would have her take a break, she would get mad at me until I would take her back over to the side so she could do it again.  There was another little girl there named, Mia, who is just a few months older than Taylor.  They were adorable together! They kept giving each other hugs and Mia would even kiss Taylor on the top of the head.  Melted my heart.  At one point Taylor jumped out of the pool and went running over to a girl with a camera and posed for her and said, "cheeese." haha.  That's my girl! I stole that picture from the FB Ds Families page, that Heather took.  I hope we can make it to another Ds playgroup soon.
