Cereal Girl

Taylor has been loving cereal lately, and somedays refuses to eat anything but cereal for lunch. A girl after my own heart.

California Dreamin'

I caught Cohen and Willis looking out the back door window together. I’m sure they were both wishing it was warmer weather so they could go outside and play.

Friends

We had our little neighbor, Braxton, over yesterday and today while his mom was in California, and his dad was working. The kids had a blast playing with him.

Ds Moms Overnight

This weekend I went on an overnighter last night with my Down syndrome mommas. We met up at our friend, Jodi’s, house and had takeout calzones for dinner. Spent the night chatting, playing games, and sleeping very little, by not going to bed until 5:30 am and waking up 9:30 am. We grabbed some breakfast at Kneaders this morning, and then I headed home. It is always SO rejuvenating to spend time with my Ds family. Love these ladies to death. I am so thankful to have Taylor in my life, so that I could have these lifelong friends in my life, too.

Stuffed Animal OBSESSED

Cohen is TOTALLY obsessed with stuffed animals.. and has been for a few months. I tried to hide half of them, and he knew they were missed and whined like a puppy by the door to the basement until I went and got them for him. Oh that boy!

Cars

Cohen sure has been into “Cars” lately. I bought him The King over the weekend, and Tuesday we got Chick Hicks and the purple car. He has been hauling them around with him EVERYWHERE. I don’t usually buy the kids toys for no reason, but it’s sure hard to say no to that sweet face, especially when I know he enjoys them so much.

No School = Lazy Day

Taylor had no school Monday, because of MLK day. We had a pretty lazy day at home, playing with toys, and watching movies. Taylor kept asking me to paint her fingers, so we did that too. I love that she is a girly girl.

A Boy And His Dog

Cohen is such an animal lover, and he sure loves our little dog, Willis. He especially loves it when Willis with play with him, and that doesn't have very often.  Willis does love to play, but he is picky about who he will play with and usually when only play with adults.  Kids just make him a little nervous. But today, Willis was willing to play tug of war with Cohen for almost 20 minutes straight. It was adorable! Sure do love these two boys!

"Cheese!"

This morning, Cohen gathered all of his stuffed animals together, posed with them, and kept saying, "cheese!" So, of course I grabbed my camera and snapped a photo of him. I love how much this little dude loves stuffed animals.

Little Photographer

When I first found out that Taylor and Cohen had opposite school schedules, I was a little annoyed, but now I am thankful that they're gone at different times, because it means I get to spend one on one time with each of them while the other one is at school.

Today, Taylor and I had fun playing with her toys. She found her toy camera, and was walking around taking pictures of things.  Then she had me sit down and pose for pictures and kept telling me to say, "cheese!" So cute!

I just love being a momma to my two littles.

Snow Day

It snowed so much yesterday, so I decided to take the kids out to play in the freshly fallen snow, since we haven't been out in it yet this Winter. The kids had a blast! Taylor kept begging me to build a snowman, so I decided that we would just build a little one. They had fun helping me roll the snow into the body and the head, putting on the carrot for the nose, the sticks for the arms, and the wood chips for the eyes. I had the hardest time convincing them to come inside for lunch so I could get Taylor ready to go to school.  I don't love being cold, and I hate having to worry about Derek driving in the snow to and from work when there's a storm, but I have to admit that I had fun playing in the snow with my kids today.

Daddy's Girl

Taylor loved having Derek read to her tonight for her homework. I love how much this little girl loves her daddy.

Hanging Out With Cohen

Cohen and I had a lot of fun this afternoon playing with the toys in his room while Taylor was at kindergarten. He sure is talking a lot more and is so much fun to be around.

He always pretends like this play piece of wood is a flute, so funny!

Busy Monday

This morning, I had to take Taylor to an ENT at the Primary Children's hospital in Riverton to see if we could figure out what is causing her to keep getting so many sinus infections. He said that he wants to try a steroid nasal spray and putting her on antibiotics next time she gets one to see if that will help clear it up before we jump into surgery. So we'll go back in two months to see how things are going. The kids were cute this morning sharing the iPad while we got ready to go the doctor. I love it when I catch them getting along.

Taylor was SO excited to go back to school today after the Winter break. That girl really does love to go to school.

Lovely Sunday

Today was our first time going to church at 9:00 am. To say that it was heavenly, would be a HUGE understatement. As funny as it sounds, we had an easier time getting ready and being to church on time then when we went at 1:00 pm. The kids were so good during Sacrament Meeting, which they hardly ever are.  I am actually looking forward to Sundays now, instead of dreading them.

Taylor was so funny and stuck the Hymn book on top her head and said, "Look! I'm a house."
Cohen also went to Sunbeams for the first time today. He did SO much better than we expected him to. I just got called as one of the choristers in primary, so I was able to observe him the whole time and was pleasantly surprised. Can't believe how quickly my baby boy is growing up!
Taylor helped me make some cookies this afternoon, and loved licking the paddle clean. This girl sure loves to help me in the kitchen.

Family & Friends

Sandi and Alyson stayed at our house last night, and got up this morning early to head to Idaho to take Alyson back to school. The kids were sure excited to see them this morning and had a hard time letting them leave.
This afternoon, the kids and I went to a play date with our friends, the Jackmans and the Bonners. They had a lot of fun playing together, and I'm sure my kids enjoyed getting out of our house for a little bit. I know I sure had a good time visiting with Holly and Jeana.

Taylor and Her Cups

Taylor found some paper cups in my bathroom closet this morning and seriously has been playing with them all.day.long. It's so funny how she gets so into things like this.

Date Night

Evan came up tonight to watch the kids so Derek and I could go out to dinner.  Crystal gave us some Outback Steakhouse gift cards for Christmas, and we decided to use them early in the year, since we had already been eating horribly as a sort of last supper if you will before we start trying to eat healthy again. We had a great time.
