Santa brought me an awesome new toy to play with. Ok, it was Ieli, not Santa :) I got an iPod nano that can record video. This is the maiden voyage...
I hope I can figure out how to edit video somehow, because we've got 25 LONG minutes of present opening that I really need to cut down to the most hilarious moments.

Christmas Jammies

Christmas is coming…
Is your goose getting fat?
Vama set up our Christmas tree yesterday. We’ve had a crazy couple of weeks getting the front room/entry way walls refinished and painted. Then the rooms had to be cleaned and put back together. So we haven’t had a chance to get everything decorated for Christmas. This morning before church I took a few shots of the girls in front of the undecorated tree in one of their Christmas ensembles. I STILL haven’t taken a picture of them in their official Christmas dresses that I would normally put in a card. Who knows if that will even happen this year! Tonight we did get the tree decorated though; the girls had a good time helping put on the ornaments. But of course we ended the night with the usual stubborn streak of not wanting to take a picture. I need to make sure I have a good night’s rest and plenty of patience before I attempt any photo taking. Seriously, if my girls ever wonder why there aren’t a lot of good pictures of them at this age I will go into great detail about their horrible behavior while taking pictures! Anyway…I hope everyone is ready for Christmas and is looking forward to spending time with their loved ones.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The finished tree
This picture is pretty funny. Mallina wanted to pose as a scarecrow, and Eva decided to be a bunny. She was jumping up and down and everything!
Seriously, this is the best they can give me? Am I expecting too much for both of them to look at the camera at the same time?
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!
This is one of those songs that my mom will randomly sing. I think of her whenever I hear it, and get excited because Christmas is here!

Toothless
GOT ANGER?

How about a really great SCOWL?
This is what I deal with on a very regular basis. If Mallina doesn't want to do something, she puts of a fight to end all fights. She lost her first tooth on Wednesday so I wanted to get a shot of my two toothless girls together. Mallina DID NOT want to do it. After many threats against her person, she finally smiled, but I think this was one of the most ANNOYING photo shoots of my life. Here are the outtakes, you can see how Eva was ready to go on the first shot, and she eventually helped Mallina to break down into a smile.
This was the best I could get where you could really see the spaces where they are missing teeth. It was so hard because I had to get one of them to show me her top teeth and one to show me her bottom teeth.

This is really the only one of of them together that turned out cute, out of 38 shots. I finally lost my patience and both girls had to have a time out. Good times.

So, I have to say, I was SO not prepared to have Mallina losing teeth already. It seems like such an older "kid" thing to have happen, not a 4 1/2 year old kind of thing. She did get those two bottom teeth at 4 months old, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but it is just one more sign that she isn't my baby anymore. She is growing up! That's so hard :( And she's already got another loose tooth! I hope Eva doesn't grow up as fast as Mallina has, although she is looking way too old for my liking as well.

Turkey Day
At the incessant nagging of someone who shall remain nameless, but whose first name may or may not start with an "n-i-c" here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving. I will admit right here and now that I totally slacked on the picture taking. I didn't get a shot of all of us together (although, now that I think about it, we may never had ever been ALL together...Vama ditched us on Thanksgiving day...) I don't understand why that keeps happening. Major FAIL on my part. Anyhoo...
I have absolutely NO idea when my family last had Thanksgiving together. Seriously, it may have been like 1981 or something. Until last year I hadn't had Thanksgiving with any relative in YEARS (although dad did fly to Hawaii one year and we ate at Denny's and watched the sun go down over the ocean :)
This year my oldest and wisest sister (see Julie, I'm making up my OWN descriptions) and her family brought my nephew Sean out to the MTC (he's going to Samoa! Talofa!) so we actually had a Thanksgiving dinner with family! Jenny and Chuck (and baby Verl) came from AZ, Aly and Jaxson came from TX and of course we are already here :) My sister Kristie and her family were missing (the afore mentioned nagger MAY be from that part of the family) which may have been good because then we would probably have spent way too much time laughing and making fun of each other and not get enough eating in. Wait, that kinda did happen. Anyways, I LOVE my sisters and their awesome sons that were able to be here. We really don't get to see each other often enough (except for Jenny, she gets around :) and that makes me SAD. I want to take this opportunity to remind them all of the threat on their life if they don't make to UT in June for Paul and Judy's 50th anniversary :) I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Enjoy.

Workin' hard?...
...or hardly working? It makes me laugh every time Shrek says that in the 2nd movie. Vama has been helping clean up/clean out/ remove mold/ paint one of the bedrooms in my parents' basement. The room was my dad's while growing up and it had the cutest wall paper on it:
It had to come off, but I wanted to get a picture of it because it is so cute! Vama painted the walls white and Mallina got to help him. She was SO excited :) Eva was helping me with dinner, but she jumped into the picture with them.

Now we are ready to have visitors for Thanksgiving! Woohoo! I will be sure to take an obnoxious amount of pictures for the big shindig so I can embarrass everyone and put their pictures on my blog. bwahaha!
