WooPigSooie

A few weeks ago we enjoyed a family outing to the Razorback basketball game.

Emery was all over the seats during the game. Thankfully no one sat in front of us.

Yelling for the hogs

Curly mullet.

Lincoln asked us all evening to see Big Red but he never came close to our seats. So at the end of the game we chased him down on the court so Linc could get his picture with him. He was so proud.

It was 9:00 by the end of the game. We carried both kids back to the car, changes them into their pj's and headed home. Both of then fell asleep quickly. When we got home and were carrying them in Lincoln woke up. I laid in bed for him a few minutes to get him settled back down and to sleep. While laying there he kept saying, "I had such a fun time mommy. Thank you for going to the razorbacks. I had a very fun time mommy. Thank you for taking me and Emmy to the game" It was the sweetest.

Thankful

This year for Thanksgiving we spent the holiday at my parent's house. We usually spend our year in Branson but decided to change it up this year. I was bummed at first to miss out on Branson but as the time drew closer I was grateful for sometime at "home."

The Thursday prior to Thanksgiving Lincoln developed a terrible barking cough. We decided to let it run it's course but by Monday I decided to take him to the doctor. She agreed it was croup and prescribed him a steroid and inhaler with the orders to return Wednesday if not better. Wednesday rolled around and he was not better and fact worse. She checked for flu, strep and even sent us to the hospital for chest x-rays. All were clear. It was just a bad case of viral croup - a.k.a. no antibiotics can help so good luck! Fantastic. We did agree to discontinue the steroid b/c that was making him
cray-cray!! Never again.

Needless to say Linc was not feeling himself. We had a low-key holiday with lazy days filled with eating and a few adventures out for Black Friday deals.

Here is our turkey

Lincoln not feeling well

Emery not wanting her picture made

All cuddled up for movie night with Papa while me, Cory and mom went to see Catching Fire.

And Emery loving her first frosty from Wendy's on the ride home. (She did get that while thing to herself. We scooped out some for her in an empty cup).

So much to be thankful for. May we never take it for granted.

Cuddles with baby Aliza just a few days old

Throwing a fit but making sure I'm watching.

Meeting our newest neighbor Mr. Samuel. Lincoln got to go with me to the hospital. While I was holding him Lincoln got real close to him, wrinkled his nose and said "he is sweet, mommy"

Visited "all-aboard" fast food joint

Hulk smash

Emery's fierce mullet

She had to take her "iPod" aka iphone to Walmart.

Girls night

Widow spider!

The day mommy lost E's lovie in Hobby Lobby and she refused a nap. It caught up with her that evening during grocery shopping.

She is a little confused...

Lincoln got croup a few days before a Thanksgiving. During his follow-up he was still wheezing so the dr ordered an x-Ray but it thankfully came back clear.

But sharing is caring so now Emery has croup. :)

Lincoln Lately {3.75 years}

Well I originally started typing this post in August when Lincoln turned three and a half years old.  But now he is more like 3.75 so we will just go with it.

On August 11, 2013 Lincoln officially turned three and a half years old.  I feel like every year around this time he matures a little more and shows signs of becoming so grown up!  There are several things about him lately that I want to document about him.

Let's see what is new with you, Lincoln:
  • We went to the doctor at the end of July for a follow up on your three year appointment.  We agreed that all the areas that we "followed up on" were no longer a concern!  Yay!  You weighed 37 lbs (80th percentile) and were 41 inches tall (90th percentile).
  • You love ALL THINGS SUPERHERO.  Your favorites are batman and superman.  You are constantly wearing your custom made "Super L" cape that our friend Amanda made for you.  You want to wear it to the store, outside to play and even to the sitter.

  • You put your hands on your hip and furrow your eyebrow and say "I'm Super Lincoln" and then you run off.

  •  You are also loving Jake and the Neverland Pirates right now. You were the cutest Jake the Pirate for Halloween.
  • You LOVE to talk and tell stories. And have stories told to you.  At bedtime every night you say "mommy and daddy tell me a story of when you were 'wittle'"  And after we get done with our story then you start off on your version of the story but throw in accents of "super Lincoln" and how you  "saved the day" and "how you beat the giant Goliath."

      •  At church on Sunday our friends, the Miller's, are your teachers.  Daddy picks you up from your class and they told him recently how you wanted to tell the whole class the story of Jonah (what you are learning about in class).  They said you were eager to give your version of the story.

      • You LOVE the comforts of home, mommy, daddy, and Emery.  Maybe it is your age but when we have been away longer than you would like you will say "Mommy, I want to go home."
      • You LOVE your lovie.  Still.  It stays at home while you are at preschool or the sitter but as soon as you get home you find it and hold onto it.

        • You LOVE to play hide-n-go seek and chase.  We play it almost every day.  I hold Emery and we run (or hide) and you chase us or come to find us.  You love to play this with daddy too. You also love to "hunt" monsters by walking around the house quietly until you spot "one" and then you attack it.
        • Your favorite thing to say right now is made up words.  Your favorite is "CC"  So you call me "Momma CC" or "Daddy CC" and Emmy CC.  And you just fall out laughing every single time you say it.  You like to make up words and rhyme them.  You think it is so funny.

        • You are a great eater and a great sleeper.  Your favorite foods right now is yogurt and apples.  You go to bed about 8:45-9:00 each night and sleep till about 7:45 each morning.  You still take an afternoon nap but it is never much longer than 1.5 hours.  And somedays I think you could go without one

        • You are such a little love bug.  You are constantly giving me, daddy and Emery hugs and kisses.  You rub my face and say "I wuv you mommy."  I was sick recently and you would come over every once in a while and say "Are you ok, mommy?"
        •  You definitely have your moments of saying pretty funny things.  Here are a few funny things/stories you have said recently.

        • You know all your letters, sounds and can identify most numbers 1-10.  You try to count to 20 but somewhere around 13 or so you say the rest of those numbers out of order. You are working hard on writing.  We have been working on tracing and I can tell it stresses you out.  You are getting better and have recently decided that you like writing.
        • You have started trying to write your name.  You can spell it but need me to tell you what letter to write as you write it.  You are just now understanding that the letters go in order instead of random locations all over the page.

        • You have recently started loving to color and I just love that about you.
        • You had a harder time adjusting to preschool but have found your groove and seem to enjoy it.  You do love it when I come to pick you up everyday.  You and Emery just hug in the hallway and giggle with each other.
        • Speaking of Emery, you two have quite the love/not-so-love relationship.  You LOVE to play with her and can go no longer than 5 minutes of not seeing her at the house that you have to ask where she is and you go find her.  She, on the other hand, enjoys her alone time so she does not always enjoy the company.  When you are rough with her or hit her she has started to hit back or she cries.  But within a few minutes she is off finding you to play with you again.  You two love to chase each other and you just giggle over and over.

We are loving this age.  You are so creative and have a huge imagination.  You love to just play and can make anything a toy that entertains you for a long time.  Thanks for being such a joy in our home. We pray you grow up to be a leader who sets an example of Christ's love for others!
