A visit from Grandma and Grandpa

We were so excited to have family come out to visit.
We went and explored a park, saw fish in a pond and took a break from the heat in the trees.

York Beach

We had to hit the beach as soon as school was out.
It was a beautiful day and one of our last with our dear friends before them moved.

Me and light houses. We had to have a family pic.

Last day of school

Tradition holds they get a large cookie the last day of school for their after school snack!

We loved this place!

Yorktown

A trip to Yorktown was complete with a musket demonstration, some of our own reenactments of how to soldiers slept in tents, the way to hold a gun and learning how they took out teeth.

And of course we would have to stop at a chocolate shop!  Great cookies!!!

Battleship Wisconsin

While in Williamsburg, we spent a day down in Norfolk.  We visited the Nauticus museum.  Our favorite part was touring the Battleship Wisconsin.  IT WAS SO ENORMOUS and absolutely amazing!

Our Art Diva

Allison's school picked a few art pieces to showcase at the local high school, including hers.

Another Stop

Ok, this is a little late, but during our Virginia trip last spring we stopped at one more place. Does it surprise you?

Williamsburg II

This is the oldest college building in America. A treat for dad.

Yes, they have slurpees in Virginia.

Williamsburg I

Jill and I visited this bridge before we had children.
Good to know it's still around.
