I can't believe it's here...summer is almost over. This will be the last week for the kids and I to enjoy the freedom to do whatever we want before our scheduled activities like morning Bible study, MDO, Pre-School, etc. start back. To celebrate the end of the summer and gear up for the fall Jason and I will be taking a little vacation next week! So amidst the packing and getting ready for our trip, the kids and I will be going swimming a lot this week, playing with friends, and my favortie-sleeping in.
I will admit towards the last few weeks of May I was a little anxious about 3 months of no scheduled activities for us to "escape" to over the summer. I must say that I have enjoyed this summer so much with the kids. It has been really nice to just enjoy them in our own timing not worrying about having to be somewhere at a certain time, etc. I always try and be mindful about what we are involved in and how it will effect our family. This summer the Lord has taught me that we don't always have to be involved and do everything to enjoy life. While there are so many fun things out there to enjoy, I will admit, I become kind of a crazy woman trying to be somewhere at certain times day in and day out. Some of my fondest memories this summer have been the simple things that we have done and the time we have had to just take the moments in!

Why?
Why is it that my sweet girl thought she should finger paint w/ her poo yesterday during her nap? I mean really, doesn't she know that is beyond disgusting? So, I had a fun afternoon of cleaning and disenfecting her bed. Thankfully she's so cute and I quickly forgave her. What did you do yesterday afternoon? Hope it was more fun and fullfilling that what I was doing :)

Girls Weekend
This past weekend Jason & Greyson took a boys trip to Tulsa and Davis and I stayed here. It was fun having her alone to spend time with. We went to the library, got ice cream, swam, played dolls until I didn't know what to do with myself and we went to Corsicana to visit my grandmother for the day on Saturday. Her 79th birthday was last week so we went for a post birthday celebration with her. Meme is a wonderful southern cook and we were treated with one of her specialties while we were there-homemade macaroni and cheese. Davis loved it and couldn't get enough of it. It was a fun day with family relaxing in the country! The boys returned on Monday and the kids were so excited to see each other. I've always known that they love each other despite their sibling rivalry, but I really realized it with them being away from each other for 4 days. They kept hugging each other and telling the other that they missed the other-too sweet. Here are some pics of Davis and my visit w/ Meme.

Davis Funnies
Davis is talking so much these days and is saying some pretty funny things. Here are 2 funny things she said in the last couple weeks...
Saturday morning we were discussing where we were going to go for breakfast. Davis chimed in and said "I wanna go to Chickdonalds".
We were leaving the gym on Friday afternoon and 2 bunnies hopped in front of us on the sidewalk. She was very upset while I was putting her in her carseat and I asked her what was wrong, she replied, "Mommy, I wanna give bunnies high fives". I tried to explain that we don't touch the bunnies but she was determined that she was going to give those bunnies a high five the next time she saw them.
