NERDS!!!

My sister-in-law Becky is HILARIOUS! She has a post from when she was in high school and bleached her gorgeous dark brown hair platinum blonde!!! So funny! It made me miss my crazy high school days a tiny bit! I wasn't as cool or as smart as Becky, so this is my "idiot in public" proof picture!

Mary Kay Rex (Mikki), Mary Ann Mortensen (Annie), and Mary Paige Wakefield (Paige). We weren't very creative! Just dorks who liked to humiliate ourselves in public! It always worked too well! These guys are still so much fun to be with! I see Mikki here and there around home, we go to lunch once in a while. I talk to Paige at least weekly, sometimes daily. She tries to keep me sane...good luck with that! I still like to make an idiot of myself in various places, but I definitely prefer to share it with my family! They all have a great way of encouraging stupid behavior!! They also do great with stupid behavior of their own! I have the funniest family I know! Every one of them has a unique sense of humor that I think we find funnier than the average person...maybe it is something in our genes...or that our parents are cousins...maybe we are just warped, twisted, emotionally disturbed freaks with too much time on our hands? You can choose!

I'm not wearing 2 shirts in this picture...I just forgot to tuck it in when I got ready!! YIKES!

Pops and Joey: Look-a-like contest

Our Grandpa is such a good sport!!
He spends his days devoted to taking care of EVERYONE else around him!
My mom's little brother is a 56 year old down syndrome man...who lives to be with Craig.
Uncle Martin is a handful (or two), but Craig has the patience of of a saint!!!!
No one else could handle the aggravating behavior of Martin like Craig does...with incredible love and sincere concern for his needs and wants!
Happy Birthday to Joey! I wanted to show the Mortensen family traits, so she is sharing the same hairdo as Pops!

Elder DeVries

We are so proud of our Uncle Jared! He entered the MTC on June 4. We all got to be there through the send off process. It was sad to see him go because we sure love him, but we know that the people in Hartford, Connecticut will love him just as much as we do! What an incredible example to our boys!
Jared and Kerry have been so close his whole life! We hope Grandpa won't be too lonely without his sidekick! Maybe we can take advantage of his time and personality traits that fascinate our boys...they'd LOVE to hangout with Grandpa more!!!

It was so sweet to see all of our children respond differently to Jared's emotions and try to console him, without letting on that they were sad too. Jared was Nate's age when Nate was born, so Jared is more like a tormenting, fun big brother to Nate! Good luck Jared! We love you!
