Craig H and Karen Marie Larsen
September 23, 1969

My parents love story is a sweet one.
They met each other on a double date, both with other people. They grew up in the same stake in West valley. Mom went to Granite high and Dad went to Granger High. Dad served his mission in Pennsylvania. He returned home to enter school with the dream of becoming a dentist. he started his pre-dental schooling while Mom was attending her only semester at Weber State.
They fell in love quickly and were engaged when Dad was drafted to go to Vietnam. They had a reception on September 22 and that evening Dad dropped Mom off at her families home, kissed her goodnight and went home. The next morning they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. I know that they had to leave immediately to Fort Watchuka for training. Mom went with him and they spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls and then traveling to basic training. Mom got a job at the Pentagon as a secretary and Dad learned to be a soldier.
Dad shipped out and Mom returned home to live with her parents.
Nine months later Duane was born. Dad was still in Vietnam and missed the delivery of his first child. They moved into a home in Dixie Valley and had Karrie, me and 13 months later Bryce...then we moved to the home in Taylorsville (that they still live in) and brought Eric home. Dad never made it back to dental training...he's a welder and Mom returned to school when she was forty to become a nurse. 38 years later...
They are still taking care of all of us and trying to help Uncle Martin through the last chapter in his life. Matrin adores Craig as much as the rest of us!
Craig and Karen are the definition of charity, generosity, patience, understanding and loyalty.
They love being grandparents and live for their family! We love you Grammy and Pops!
Happy Anniversary! Thank you for your example and friendship!

Seventeen grandchildren and eternal love...
