Punkin Patch

Gettin the Big Bro's approval
yeah...we know you're tough, now put it down before you hurt yourself!
Looking for the ugliest pumpkin in the patch.
Allie's giving her opinion on why "an ugly punkin needs a home too!"
Wishing Nate would stop throwing the corn kernals at everyone already!
Never get tired of those eyes!
 "It's a ghost punkin!"
Now...off to the Flitton's for some yummy BBQ and smores!
Perfect Saturday night with my little family and some good friends!
(Even if it meant Brian had to be social!)

Big Bro

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. ~Marc Brown

And this lucky girl has 2 of them!!!

Arsenal AP U13

Nate moved back to the Arsenal this year and has had a BLAST!!!
He has loved his new team and Coaches!  They are a good match for him
and it was EXACTLY the change he was needing!
(And us too!)
I have a ton of pictures at Nate's games because our boys had Saturday games
at the same time, and since Brian was coaching football, I was the soccer fan!!
Not that I mind either way!  I adore watching BOTH my boys play with passion!
But I only had a few pictures loaded for work and I guess I missed most of the soccer
ones! :(  I will have to add some later because he's so dang handsome when he's
trying to ignore me taking pictures of him!

Don't let any of their sizes fool you!
Every one of them are experts at what they do!
Thay are just the right size for where they are!
We grew a taller, skinny one with one heck of a kicking leg!!!
These kids are goofballs!  It's so nice to hear most of them compliment eachother during games,
There's not been any major melt downs and it has been such a nice change!

That's my boy!
Nice'n shy!

It cracks me up how much Nate resembles these 2 guys physically!
(And in lots of other ways!)
My son is a good kid and I am so proud of him!

5th Grade Thunder

Jake+Football=
Coach DeVries???
Isn't he cute with a clipboard?
Glad to say that I'm married to the mellow coach!
Who would have guessed that coaching 5th grade football could
be such a serious job?
We are huge fans of Coach Briggs and his B-Team!
They are good kids and love being together!

Jake worked really hard again this year!
He put a ton of effort into practice, only missing 1 due to
equipment issues (and I guess he did have to sit half of one
because he left his helmet in Brian's car)
But it paid off for him!  His coach let him stay in for
every play of every game during their regular season because he was so dedicated
AND because he's such an awesome, tough football player!
since I'm his mom, I'm going to say how cute he is in a helmet too!
I'm pretty sure that was one of the reasons also, but don't tell him.
(He came out for 2 plays of  their playoff game to get his cleat tied by his dad
but went right back in and kept throwing kids to the ground!)

Jake got to spend 3 nights a week playing ball with his favorite
Alabama fan who happens to be a pretty awesome football player too!
This is his 4th year being lucky enough to be with Coach Briggs and we are all a
little attached to the boys and their families that he has been able to play with.
We know Jake has some pretty great friends on AND off the fields, we know
he is blessed to have such good examples all around him all day long!
And we are glad that he enjoys being a competitor because
we LOVE watching him play!!!
Happy kid.

I wish...

Do you ever wonder how your house gets so messy when you are never home???
Between work, soccer, dance, football, basketball, scouts, church callings and family...
BLAH!!!!  I need a house robot!

I always get a kick out of different things I read telling me how simple home up keep can be, except their circumstances are usually completely different and their children are probably way more perfect than mine, because mine are human or maybe they're animals??  I wouldn't trade my little animals for anything, don't get me wrong!  But every once in a while, I miss the good old days when I could put my kiddo down for a nap and clean and then stay home for the rest of the day!   If I put off laundry day, I'm ruined for 2 weeks!

I am so grateful that I can take care of my own little family no matter how chaotic our days might get!  I LOVE that Brian tries to be at as many practices and dance classes as he can to support our children and gives me the opportunity to get the things done around our home that I feel like I need to!  Trying to fit in the sleep that I need can be rough, so there are lots of days, housework just has to wait!  And I have come to terms with that!
(Not that we live in filth! Just some clutter and the occasional dirty dinner dishes in the sink at breakfast!)
