So Sad!

Okay, so here's the story...

There has been TONS of construction on Scottsdale Road for like ever, and it takes so long to get anywhere from where we live. My friend lived right down the street but I had to go through all of the traffic so it took me FOREVER to get there. I found out that there was this little secret way that went through the Princess Resort I could use, but the only problem was there was a security guard who checked people passes and what not to get through. You had to live in the neighborhood, or be a guest at the hotel to use the road. I realized that this road would save me tons and tons of time, so naturally I made friends with the security guard. :) He would let me go through all of the time. I would stop and talk to him for a while whenever I went through and we became friends. He would tell me all about his kids and grand kids. I called him "my cute little old guy friend." I know it's probably not that nice but he was the cutest guy ever so I meant it in a good way. He told me how much he looked forward to talking to me each day. If I didn't make it through for a couple of days, he would ask me where I was.
One day I decided to give him a Book of Mormon. I wrote a letter to go with it because I was to chicken to tell him how I felt about the book in person. The next time I went through he thanked me over and over for the book, and even asked me if I could get him one in Spanish because he was having trouble reading it in English. I got him one immediately and he began reading the book. I sent the sister missionaries through a few times to see how he was progressing, and our talks also became around the book. He told me of a friend who also worked at the hotel who he found out was LDS and went to the Spanish Branch. His friend asked him to start going with him but he had to get Sundays off of work before he could attend. He had 2 or 3 different jobs he worked to provide for his family. Nice guy and really hard worker. I was so excited that he had a friend he could go to church with. I had invited him to activities, but he always had work.
The other day I drove through the "secret" road, and he was not there. I kept going through day after day to look for him, but than I saw there was another man in his place. I asked where my friend Nelson was, and the man said he didn't work there anymore. I was so bummed out! I wanted to see was going to happen with Nelson and his Book of Mormon quest, but I guess I'll never know. (and BTW, the new security guard way not friendly!!!!!) I hope Nelson is able to go to church with his LDS friend he found. Bye Nelson! Sorry I never got to say good bye.

Wicked

(Dani, Jany, Jessica's friend, Me, Britany, Monterey, Karlee, Tammy, Jessica, Sarah)

Wednesday night the girls in my family along with a couple of friends went to go see the play Wicked. Oh my good gracious it is amazing!!!!!!!!! I have seen it before, but each time you see it you still love it like the first. Everyone has to go see this play sometime. Even guys would like this play. It is hilarious and the music is amazing. At the end of the show you are totally siding with the "Wicked" Witch of the West. AMAZING! It really made me wish I could sing a tune. I guess I forgot to get in that line when they were handing out talents in heaven :(

This is us walked to Gammage after our dinner at Chili's. We couldn't believe we got to actually order what we wanted (instead of what the kids would eat) AND take our time eating. The funny thing was, they brought out our appetisers and food so fast we had to eat before it all got cold anyway.

The two youngest girlies at our girls night out. Welcome to the club kiddos! :)
This is the picture of the stage from where we were sitting. The dragons eyes did glow red through out the entire show and kinda freaked Monterey out a little bit. (as did the flying monkeys and scary wizard head. I guess I forgot about those parts. Sorry kiddo) They wouldn't let you take pictures or anything during the show, so this is all I got. I contemplated going for it, but I was to busy watching the show. Thanks guys I had a blast!

Bedtime Stories

(Linkin as an infant sleeping on my dad. Look how little!)

Linkin always does the funniest things when it is time to go to bed. He figures the more adorable he gets the better his chances are of not having to go to sleep. He's smart cuz it actually works sometimes! Here are some cute little bedtime stories....

-At nap time Linkin pushed the sippie out of his mouth leaped down onto the floor and ran behind the recliner I was rocking him in and started pushing me while yelling, "weeeeeeee". How can you not laugh!

-The other night Doug was rocking Link to sleep and he pushed the sippie out of his mouth and put a fruit snack in his mouth (who knows where he got it) and said, "mmmmmmmm". He chewed the fruit snack and drank more milk before going to bed.

-In the mornings Link will cry for me to come and get him. Without fail, as soon as I walk in the door he stops crying, smiles, and says, "Hi!" Than he starts rolling around his crib crying to hide from me and throw stuff over the edge. It's so fun to play in your crib!

-While rocking Linkin he helps sooth himself to sleep by either pulling up his shirt and rubbing his belly, or putting his hands up his pant legs. haha. I'll have to remind him of that when he's 16!
-On nights he's really trying to fight off sleep, he pushes his sippie out of his mouth repeatedly to say, "hi" in all of his variations of the word. Who knew how many ways you could say hi?!
-On nights he really wants to go to sleep, after his milk when you are putting him in his crib he gets so excited that he starts waving bye bye to you so he can hurry and go night night. I love those nights! It's so cute!
*Still need ideas for Doug's Bday!! (Read post The Big 2-7)
