November 15, 2008
So not much has happened since the last post. I am really starting to feel better. I will have my moments of feeling very nauseous and it is pretty intense and then is goes away-much better than the "almost all day sickness". I will be 15 weeks on Sunday and now that I am feeling better, time seems to be flying by! I have a doctor's appointment at 10:30 on Monday to make sure that things are going just as they should. They normally will just check my blood pressure and listen to the baby's hearbeat at these early visits. We cheated on listening to the heartbeat. Normally, you won't get to hear it until you go to the doctor at about how many weeks I am right now. But, I have a friend at work that had a fetal doppler, which is used to listen to the baby's heartbeat. She has two daughters and is done having babies so she sold it to me for next to nothing. It is so nice-it is like the dopplers that we use in the operating room to listen to the baby right before a c-section. So, we have the joy of listeing to our sweet baby whenevery we want to at home. We have been able to hear it since about 9 weeks. It is just amazing what God does! I really like having the doppler at home because Dicky can also hear the baby. The baby's heartbeat is almost always right aound 160. Yes, this is fast, but completely normal for a baby. I go to the doctor once a month until 3o weeks, every two weeks from 30-36 weeks, and then every week from 36 weeks until I deliver. I love the doctors in the practice that I go to. I work at the hospital with them and it is great because I feel so comfortable asking them questions. Dicky also likes the doctor's office because they have flat screen TV's in the patient rooms. :) So, I will be going back to the doctor around 19 weeks. Hopefully, we will be able to find out if we should start to buy blue or pink at that visit, which will be right before Christmas. So just incase any of you have been wondering if I have had any cravings (that is a question that I get a lot), yes, and my new one is Taco Bell tacos. That is so weird huh? I never really minded taco bell tacos before I was pregnant, but it definately was not my number one choice. This baby will be perfect for our family-it already loves Mexican food (if you call Taco Bell mexican food). Don't worry though, my other craving is for fruit, which I have been eating a lot of lately-especially oranges and grapes. So don't anyone read this and think, well is she being healthy eating all of those tacos? I still try to be a health nut and I am being healthy. :) Taco bell is 20 minutes away and that is a treat. I have only gained about 3.5 pounds, which yes, that is normal at 15 weeks. They should start adding up here soon though. :) I will let y'all know how the visit goes on Monday. Until then, have a great weekend!

Baby Smith!
Ok, so I know that I need to post pictures of the home since we have moved in. However, I have time to post a few pictures and I figured that y'all would much rather see our sweet baby over the new home. So, here are a few recent pictures of our precious baby at 12 1/2 weeks old. As of Sunday, November 2, I will be able to kiss the first trimester goodbye! From what I hear, the second trimester is the fun trimester and you feel much better, so...bring it on! :) For those of you who don't already know...we are expecting and our due date is May 10. I guess I should have put that sentence up at the top of this entry for those of you who haven't already heard the news. Surprise! So, here are our pictures and the house pictures will be up as soon as possible.

We had our final walk through with the builder on Friday and things are getting pretty exciting! We didn't get to take many pictures but here are the ones that we got. There was someone working on the door, so you can't really tell, but the front door matches the color of the shutters. We have an exciting week ahead of us!

We are almost homeowners!

Well, I apologize because I have had some of these pictures for awhile. I just haven't posted them. So, I will try to post these is the correct order. Every time that I think our pictures are in a certain order, I click the button that says "post" and once they are posted, they are all scrambled up. So, no promises there. There is not much left to do on the house. They still have to stain the front door and put the shutters up, which they may have already done. We will find out tomorrow. :) Other than that, a little bit of tidying up and we are about ready to move in. We are closing on September 11 and we can't wait! That is in a week-wow! There is a picture of me standing next to a tree. This is a Savanah Holly tree that mom and dad surprised us with. We can't wait to watch it grow as we make memories in our new home. Enjoy the pictures and have a great rest of the week! We love y'all!

Hi everyone! Here are a few more pictures that we took this week. We are getting very excited!
Dicky will officially be working as PA in the ER this week (Thursday). So he is looking forward to that.
I had a week full of hospital and nursing orientation in Allen. I really think I am going to love it! I start on the floor on Tuesday.
I hope you all have a great week and stay cool....it is hot out there!

Brick Pictures
So...when I woke up at 5:00 this morning, I stumbled my way into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I thought to myself, "I have got to go to sleep early tonight because this is rough." But it is 11:00 and I am still awake because I really wanted to post our newest pictures of the house.
Dicky had to be at work from 7-4 and I had to be at work from 8-5. With the gas prices the way they are, we figured we would ride together since we had to drive an hour. I didn't know Dicky liked am radio-WBAP (at a volume that was much higher than any normal human being should listen to). Why is it that when guys listen to talk radio, they crank it up so loud? I guess I don't have room to talk. I definately turn my radio up. I could only handle so much of that at 6:00 in the morning. I quickly changed it to fm radio-they play music.
Anyway, when we got off of work, we drove to Anna. This is what we found...

Another month has gone by so fast! We will have a lot going on this month. Dicky has been working in the ER in McKinney for awhile. He has been on orientation, however, and will officially start working as a Physician Assistant on August 15. My first day of work is on Monday, August 4.
In addition to the new jobs, things are moving right along with the house. Our brick is on back order so things are running a little behind. It is no big deal to us though-we are still thrilled with the way everything is going. That gives me more time to make curtains! :)
Last time we visited the house, I forgot my camera card. I remembered it this time, as promised, and here are a few more pictures of the interior of the house. Enjoy!

Howdy!
"Well, foot..."
That is what I said the other day when we went out to the house. I brought the camera and pressed the button to take a picture and I got a lovely message. A black screen told me that there was no memory card. Oh man! It was in my shorts that I wore to Walmart when I went to print the pictures. So...I have an update but no pictures. I know, I know, that is not any fun! But we do have cabinets, interior doors, closet shelves, and paint on the walls. Yee haw! We didn't want to leave. We just stood there and stared at everything. We were both thinking, "Wow, this is almost ours! " So there is still more to do, but it is actually looking like a house. We can't wait for y'all to come over and play Mad Gab, Sequence, or Rummikub. We are working on our game collection but that should keep us all entertained for awhile. The next time we go out, I promise I will take the camera (with the memory card). Bye for now and I hope you are all well!
