For Molly's first 4th of July, we started the day out with a 5K run. Dicky and I did the 5K and Molly did the 1 mile with my mom, her Mimi. Those pictures are on mom's camera, so I don't have them to post yet. After that, we headed down to downtown Denton for the annual parade. Molly actually did a pretty god job staying awake during the parade. She crashed pretty hard at the end of it though. After that, we went back to mom and dad's house to eat some burgers and play some games. Molly ended her day falling asleep in her Great Grandma's arms. What a day!

Granny and PawPaw
Temporary Fix for a Fussy Baby and Stressed Out Mom!
So, those of you who don't know me well yet, you should know that I love to run. It all started back in 2nd grade. KLTY used to always do a Las Colinas Christmas run. There was a 2 mile run that Dad told me he would give me $5 for if I could finish it without running. Wow-that was motivation enought for me! Back then, I could really stretch $5 at The Dollar Store. Well, I ran those two miles that day and I haven't looked back. I have run 3 full marathons (freshman, sophomore, and junior years in college), a 30K, and a half marathon (senior year of nursing school). I was crazy! I even ran up until I was 37 weeks pregnant, and I had Molly at 37 weeks and 4 days. So I was running three days before I had her. Now I am wondering what in the world was wrong with me...I almost pass out after two miles lately. Well, since she has been born, I have tried to pick it back up, and wow....it has been tough! I felt more in shape at 37 weeks pregnant than I do now...not pregnant! My goal is to doa half marathon this winter. Anyone want to join me?
Here is a picture from the other day. Molly was very fussy because she has just had her 2 month shots the day before. I don't know if she was fussy from the shots of the virus that we didn't know she was going to get. That virus ended in a trip to the ER because it was a weekend and she had a fever. With Dicky working in the ER and me being a baby nurse, neither of us really liked the fact that she had a fever and she was two months old. This fever was long after her shots...so it wasn't related. She is all better now. She actually got a virus that I passed onto her. I fely a little bit guilty about that one.
So, back to the post. She wouldn't stop fussing, hadn't slept, and I was about to go crazy. Dicky was at work. I finally thought to myself that she may like the sound of the treatmill and I HAD to do something or I was going to go crazy with all of this crying. This is what happened...
This picture is a little bit blurry, but...she went to sleep!!!

Springtown Visit
Ranger's Game
Every kid that grows up in this area must have memories of going to Texas Rangers games. Well, Molly is no exception.
A Rangers game is fun no matter where you sit, right? Well, let me take that statement back. We had a chance to sit right behind home plate for Molly's first game at 7 weeks old. Had is the key word there! Let me set this up for you...
We went to the game with Dicky's parents and ate at Chili's before the game. We wanted to beat traffic so we left early and got a snack. All is going well, we arrive at the park with plenty of time to get situated and find out seats. Molly is in her Baby Bjorn and I am carrying the carseat. We happened to have an extra ticket, so we figured we would bring the seat to put her in incase we felt the need. So along with the seat, I am carrying the HUGE diaper bag that probably had more in it than I needed. Hey..I am new at this, give me a break. :) Finally, we walk into the park and we are standing to the side waiting for Dicky's parents to get some money from the ATM. A nice lady says to us, "How old is she?" to which I reply that she was 7 weeks old that day. She went on to tell us how impressed she was that we were there with her, she made Molly a certificate for her first game, and then asked us where were sitting. We told her where (the nosebleeds) and she told us to go ahead and sit down and she would try to get us some upgraded seats. There would be a man in a red Ozarka shirt that would come find us. We hurried to our seats and sat to wait, and wait, and wait. We never saw a man. Oh, well. Wait!!! We were sitting in the wrong seats! NOOOOO!!!! Later on in the game, they showed another couple that got the upgraded seats from Ozarka and they were right behind HOME PLATE! Oh well, we had fun and the Rangers won 6-0!
We finally got in the car to head home around 10:00 PM, pulled over at 10:30 to feed her because she was screaming hysterically, and then she had a major explosion in her diaper around 11:30. We got home at midnight and gave her a much needed bath. We all three slept well that night!
So, those of you with young babies, if you are considering taking them to a game, be prepared for an adventure!
New Friends!!!
First play date at Jeni's house!
Happy Father's Day!!!
I am a few weeks behind here, but Happy Father's Day!!!
Dicky had worked the night shift on Saturday and also went in on Sunday night. He was very tired, but still woke up to spend some time with his girl. It was a special first Father's Day just hanging around the house.
We love you Dicky!
