Uncle P. Surprise

YAY!!!! Uncle P. !!! Lily could not get herself to sleep for her after noon nap after a visit from my bro. J.P. He came and had lunch at our house. In a child's mind there seems to be so much fun in showing someone you know your room ...it's like "Hey uncle P this is where I do this and my puppy sits here, and I color here, etc." It reminds me so much of Monsters Inc. with Boo showing Kitty her room. It was very cute. Thank you for the visit Uncle P and thank you for trying out the Mexican restaurant Ketzel that is by our place, we will definitely go there more often YUM. I do wish I had taken a picture, didn't think fast enough ...got Christmas stuff on the brain I guess.

Tangerine

Since I still keep in contact with Shawn and he brought his new website http://www.tangerinestyle.com/ to my attention, I had to share it with all of you. You may have seen his cart in Fashion Place or Gateway Mall in Utah, called Tangerine. I love the jewelry and the prices also, it is like shopping at Nordstrom but getting a steal. I love that sometimes you get a one of kind piece that doesn't come back again. Anyways they make great gifts too.

Love Love Love this watch, I may have to become a better watch wearer now.

Santa Encounter of the 2nd kind.....

Lily already saw Santa at Walmart the other day walking around, he said ..Hello she said, Hi Santa and has been saying Ho Ho Ho ever since. But last night she had the chance to sit on Santa's lap at our ward/church Christmas party, we will just say that I am actually happy that she is hesitant to sit on a strangers lap. She did enjoy seeing her friend Aaliyah there they hugged eachother for an entire minute (and a minute for a toddler is forever) it was really cute. Lily also enjoyed being part of the primary show and that is why we ended up leaving, she wanted to continue preforming on stage when ever we were in there and made a bit of a fit about it. But the food and everything was so great and thank you to all who will read this who helped out with everything.
Mommy later did not like the idea of using candy to get Lily on Santa's lap.

Can these friends get any cuter than this...I don't think so.

Lost and Found...YAY!!

I had to be patient to post this because I wanted to show Raschell her pics first. I am so so happy, I lost a little over 100 pics on my camera from a double family photo shoot with Tyson and Raschell right after Halloween and found them!!! Finally!!! These are a few that were taken by Raschell and look so good. ( I know lose them on your camera or SD card ..duh how do you do that? Well I had a few professionals take a look and they could not find them either.) It turns out that I had to delete a certain amount in the 104 folder on the camera, it then said this card is not working put in a new one, but I turned the camera off and then on again and there they were. I was so afraid to delete anything because I thought they were backed up on the photos I had that I didn't realize I needed to delete those to find them. (If any of that made sense, if not just look at these cute pics. and be happy like I am that they really do exist)

Due for a Thankful Post

You Dad... are freaking hilarious
Alright I know ...your probably are like yes.. we get that you are thankful for Lily. But this baby pic. of her was too cute not to post, and though I miss that cute stage.
All I can say is this is what I get now..... "I love you Lily" ...." You too Mommy" (with a kiss) She tends to say the end of sentences (why waste time), and this one probably gives me the best feeling I think I have almost ever had when I hear it. Any who I am thankful for that and I am thankful for smiling faces. Isn't it crazy how a baby can smile so soon. It is like god came up with the perfect timing, right when you are in the thick of new baby stuff and needs that seem to be overwhelming BOOM she beams thank you out of a little smile...well at least that is how it felt for me.

Afternoon Slumber Party?

Lily has a best friend here, her name is Aaliyah. Lily wakes up some mornings asking to see "Friend Aaliyah!!" Yesterday afternoon Aaliyah and her mom came over. I pulled out the bottom bed of Lily's trundle to show Aaliyah that there was an extra bed. Then Lily and Aaliyah wanted to go to bed, Aaliyah turned off the lights even. It was really really cute. We also are doing a co op veggie fruit thing together and I had to post a picture because I am so excited about all the good stuff I got that was affordable (Yes 3 mango's!!) but all in the pic. cost the price of those 3 mango's. Also Lily did 2 somersaults that night which was very entertaining for Nathan and I.
Here they are Aaliyah on top Lily at bottom.

Thinking of you Mom

The turning lane on the left goes into our complex. I feel like this bushel of random yellow flowers (Mom loves yellow flowers) sprouted up when, and ever since I came home from Utah in September. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of and love you mom... thank you for being there still ...every time I turn into home.

OOhh Tute

I was trying to design a pillow with this felt for her room a while back and it did not work out. Today I am happy to say, after cutting out some numbers, letters and hanging a random long felt strip it has still gone to good use. I hung it on the wall today and she loves it. In fact lately she has been saying "Ohhh Tute.." (oh cute) for special things and I got an Ohh tute for it, which made all the cutting out worth it.

First Ginger Bread House

Yes I realize she is a bit too small but she was very excited to show Daddy, and she kept calling it (ohh tute) though she also for the most part wanted to just eat it ( num num snack..snack?)
After we finished I thought to myself humm for the most part are Christmas decor items just things children want that they can't have.

Our Thanksgiving Weekend

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving with my fam. this year in St. George. It was a long trip there but a short one back (There was some bad rain and fog and a long stop at Walmart on the way there so that we could get a plug in for the laptop for movies.) We missed aunt Stephani and uncle Mike. Alex calls Stephani (Gobbles) and who can have Thanksgiving with out Gobbles? Anyways we all were thinking about you both. We will be excited to see you for Christmas and perhaps take a big family photo. The weekend as I recall it (tenacious D sung in harmony by John and Jamie, blow up mattresses and dogs every where, Scrumptious food thanks Jen, Kung Pow and Fred Claus, cute grand kids, Yellow Leafs, Good conversation. Gram Jen took some pics of our family like the ones below and more soon on her flickr I am sure (go to her blog to get there.) I miss my family but it is so nice to have some space and a routine again... besides I am spoiled and will see them in a few weeks again. (THANK YOU LOW GAS PRICES!!)
Any way thank you family for meeting us in St. George. I definitely miss the comfort being with the fam. brings (you can always be yourself.) I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving also. And dang I was at Walmart yesterday (1st of Dec.) and it already was crazy and seemed like the week of Christmas ..so good luck to you all in getting all you need.

Being Thankful (Thankful Post)

I decided to put a post at least once a month or week with a pic. or/and video of what I am thankful for and I will let the picture or/and video do most of the talking.
I want to be more positive and recognize what I have and not just be Thankful on Thanksgiving. Everyone is invited to do it also... It will be called the Thankful Post.
Lily's first crawl...Yes I made her crawl in a skirt the poor thing.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

FIESTA BOWL??

Dec. 7th We will know if the Utes are coming to the Fiesta Bowl and I may have a bit-o-family over. GO UTES!!!! SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -Utah is BCS bound once again.
Brian Johnson passed for 303 yards and four touchdowns and the eighth-ranked Utes completed a perfect regular season by beating No. 16 BYU 48-24 Saturday, winning the heated state rivalry and taking the undisputed Mountain West Conference title away from the two-time defending champion Cougars (10-2, 6-2).

Me as a Rug?

We can Dine In.

We purchased this set on Craigs List comes with leaf, It is sturdy and Pottery Barn. I am excited to have a table to eat at as a family. I do still hope for White Faux Bamboo chairs to go with the table some day. But I do like the set and it is hard to not purchase a set when you are trying to get a good deal. And above is our a picture wall in progress. The thing is now that we have a table we have to worry about the dumb carpet under it..... why white and why in the dining area for an apartment I never understood or understand.

My Babblings

So to be honest I have been tripping out a bit lately. Lily is starting to say words we ask her to say, say words for things she see's, crawl out of bed in the morning and come into our room, along with more big girl stuff. This afternoon she was not going down for her nap so I just left her in bed and said it is time for a nap and closed her door, I could see and hear that she got off her bed and went to the door and reached to open it on her tippy toes, but without crying she just stood by the door got tired and the next thing I know she put herself back into her big girl bed.... I don't know how she got up there either. The reason I say that I am tripping out is not because I want her to be a baby again or because I have to watch more how I act around her. The reason is, is because I feel so Mom like or something, I know I felt like her mother when she arrived and some before when she was in my belly. But now I feel more like a Mom....if that makes sense, Like she has friends say Hi Lily's Mom, and I am the one to do the work to find a good babysitter instead of wanting to kick it with the babysitter or something.(yes on our last date the babysitters mom had to let me know that she wants her daughter focusing on babysitting ...when I said maybe she could bring a friend and I was thinking of ordering pizza or something.) I guess I need to learn some things. I don't know if it is because of what has happened in my life recently or the growing Lily but I am definitely feeling like a kid trying to be more adult or just a Mom shifting into being a Mom I am not quite sure, maybe it is all because I know a little someone is listening and understanding so much more now.

Debating

I realize that this year is very important to have political views and make a decision but honestly I don't trust anyone, not anyone meaning just not trusting the candidates but anyone meaning ...those on the campaigns, people/computers who tally votes, the Clinton's, anyone!!
And why should I trust anyone, am I just suppose to sit down and write the pluses and minuses of both and then make a decision. I don't understand how people can be so all for someone and still not agree with some of their views or not know them personally (please can I vote my brother John for president...I don't agree with him all the time but at least I know him.) Views that may never even make to the white office because they still don't know what being a president really is about until they are one. Do I vote for Obama because he looks less like the bad president (like in the movies...X-men etc.) then McCain? Well anyways I am way behind in the debate and perhaps it is because if it is not personal than it is not on my mind, if it is personal if I don't start to gather others and campaign for someone really can my vote alone do the trick, but if I say this what a poor American am I for not voting on a very world changing time in history...yes I said world not America and meant it. I am proud to be an American and the 4th is my fav. holiday I swear.
How in this world can you always see clearly the bad to the good? How can you know that the good will not become bad from influence and will they go back to good?

Port a Potty??

Lily has been showing signs of being a big girl on the potty, but we will just say that I may have started wrong. We saw a potty/stool at the store and purchased it, and now she is obsessed with going to the point that she doesn't want a diaper or anything on so she can go and she will sit and push until drizzle upon little drizzle comes out. Also she wants to carry it around the house to sit on. I did not realize she would be so crazy about it and have not purchased panties yet, so really she has no concept of pulling her panties down to go. She will throw a fit to go, a fit if she can not be naked so she can always go, a fit if she can not port her potty around. I don't know what to do, she lifts her shirt up to go, but how do I get her to pull down her panties and pants to go. Is it too early? What have I started?

Gratitude/Ramblings

After a sleepless night (Lily's first night on big girl bed.) well sleepless for me from worrying not as much for Lily. I found myself a little overwhelmed by emotions later this afternoon, partly because I miss the fam. and it would be easier for them if we lived closer so they could see us and vise versa, partly because Lily is hard to shop with (someone could have stolen her with how much she ran from me.), partly because I find I am sad over little things lately (so big at that moment) and I start to be negative. I think that negativity is in a way like anger to hide your sadness. Well anyways when we returned home tonight I became full of gratitude for all that I have, especially after I put new sheets on Lily's cute bed and Nathan and her read stories for bed time. I watched and thought how wonderful the bed was at first and then realized that if it was not there it would not matter, it would look the same to me it was who was in it. Kinda corny I know and this hurts to say and is hard to do, but it is better to be more grateful for what you have than focus on what you don't and what you have lost. A lesson I will be having to learn every day I think.

Camp Luxurious

Well I am finally posting about our camping trip this last weekend. We will just say that it was not super comfortable (I realize camping is not meant to be luxurious), and for some reason if someone has a trailer I always find myself thinking in the desperate direction towards buying one for next time, though I would never. Well anyways at the end of our short time in who knows where I have concluded you do not need to camp to enjoy the outdoors, and if you do camp be prepared not to sleep especially without a blow up mattress, and winds blowing so hard you are in and out of dreams of a bear or creature shaking your tent not to mention scorpions (I have issues with those now for sure).....don't worry Lily had her pack n play mattress and Nathan can sleep through a lot more than I can, as you will see below. Lily did cry for an hour... plus/minus before we could get her to settle down for bed. But at least all and all we have an experience to remember and something in common to share with all who came and we enjoyed our foil dinners and definitely, definitely the morning.
After relaxing when we returned on Saturday we put together Lily's new big girl bed. (Well mostly Daddy)

Eating Marshmallow by fire after arriving late afternoon.

Nathan with yummae foil dinner (better when you are starving too)

Calming Lily with trail mix in tent. Our wee tent held up good but started to blow in like the others by morning.Nathan holding up side of tent Lily sleeping still until I grabbed her after this pic. The morning gang getting warm.Shielding food from wind with cars.Making sweetest face wanting a turn. Not going to give it to me ..take that!Spoiled Brat: (wopping a lot of kids that morning, and stealing toys, someone did not sleep well enough even on her own mattress....and well she is spoiled...luckily she learned a little lesson when she got wopped back (by someone older than sweet Carter here and more her age.) Older kids just look at you or their parents to handle it if they get wopped younger kids just cry but around the same age...girl you are going to get what's coming to you)

I had a trundle bed and I remember some of my still now best friends sleeping over on it.
