Now Open for Business...

...David's Nail Boutique...specializing in manicures AND pedicures.

That's right...my sweet husband and GREAT daddy stepped in for me and gave Addie her "pretty nails", as she says. She came in the kitchen one evening after school saying "paint nails" over and over. This is her way of telling me she is ready for her fingernails and toenails to be painted. I told her I was busy cooking dinner and couldn't, of course I was feeling guilty. She didn't stop with her "paint nails" so her SWEET Daddy came around the corner with the pink polish in hand. He started with her fingernails and then moved on to her toenails. I was very impressed with his skill! I had to take a picture and blog this. I think it is very, very sweet. I hope Addie will always know how much her Daddy loves her.

Logan is a BEAR...

a Lipscomb Elementary Bear that is. He had his first half day of Kindergarten last week and it was called "Bear Camp". He was so excited about it. He wasn't nervous at all. As a matter of fact, he assured me that he wouldn't be worrying about me so there was no need to worry about him!

Here are a few pictures of him on his first day. (Note: He looks like he might have gone on a bear hunt prior to going to Bear Camp. However, he really didn't have a run in with a bear but he did have a little accident on his scooter. He always seems to get into something when there is reason to take pictures. Oh well, I think he had a lot to talk about with his new friends.)

He looks so big in this last picture. His teacher walked him to my class when his day was over. I felt like I was going to cry when I walked out of his classroom in the morning but I was able to hold back. There was a sea of children heading towards my classroom so this helped out. However, it was when he opened my classroom door and I saw a big Kindergartener that my heart felt so sad and I couldn't hold back the tears. He just looks so BIG yet he is still a baby at the same time. He was so proud and talked non-stop to me and my class about his adventures at "Bear Camp". He got a little Lipscomb Bear with the balloon. He named it "Beary" and he has slept with it every night since then. This little boy is the light of my life. I'm sad to see him go but I'm so proud of the great Kindergartener he is going to be! Tomorrow is the BIG day as he will be there the whole day. Come back soon to hear about it...

Coming Soon...

Yes, we are all alive and ok, in case you were wondering. We have had a lot going on with back to school that I haven't been able to sit down and blog all the fun. I decided I would take some time to do it tonight. So, I sat down to download the pictures and wouldn't you know the camera battery is dead!! I guess I'll have to blog another night but come back soon to see pictures of Logan's 1st half day at Kindergarten and what Daddy and Addie have been up to. (It's OH so cute but I won't give it away!)

I guess this is God's way of saying sleep instead of blog...Good Night!

Looking Good

Well, this morning after I blogged, I figured that would be all of my blogging for the week seeing as how I will be at school all week. So, I went to start a little bit of cleaning and laundry for the week. Addie was keeping herself occupied playing around me, in and out of where I was. However, it got quiet for a few minutes and you know how that goes. Uh oh...I went looking for her. The first place I always head is to our bathroom and closet. Well, the bathroom was clear so I kept moving to my closet and this is what I found...

**Addie and Mommy's make-up bag...OOPS!!
And this is what I heard...
** "Look pretty Mommy"
And Mommy said what I should say, "You do look pretty, Addie. I think you did a great job with your make-up!" (for a 2 year old, that is) I was just happy to only find the make-up on her face...it cleans up easily. She is very into having her nails done on a weekly basis but I don't think I am going to encourage make-overs just yet.
And so I had to blog this, but this is probably it for blogging for the week. Unless, of course, another one is caught in a moment and that is likely around here.

The Fair is in town...

and boy did we have a blast! We rode on a lot of rides, ate lots of good (greasy and sugary) food, played some games, saw some animals, and lots of other cool stuff. The kids loved the rides. I wasn't sure how Addie would do but she loved them. She had Logan with her on all of them and I think that made a difference. Check out the pictures of the fun we had...

Please look closely at Addie's face on the kiddie roller coaster. I thought we might have to stop the ride to get Addie off of this one. After a couple of times around and a little coaching from big brother, she started saying "weeeee" amongst her fear. When I got her off the ride, she said "I not like it mommy but I weeeeee". I guess that means she didn't like it but she made the best of it...that's my girl!

And then there was the Ferris Wheel that Logan LOVED. We have been passing the Ferris Wheel on the interstate for the past week so this was the big one he was looking forward to. Addie was too small to ride this year...maybe next year.
Here we are watching the boys go up and down, around and around...

This was a very cute farming area for little ones. The kids went through a barn, picked apples, corn, veggies, etc. When they got to the end, they sold it in a market, made money, and then went to a little store to buy something. Both of mine bought chocolate milk. It was such a cute idea and the kids loved it.
They even got to give a try at milking a cow...

Aren't they so cute...

Good Bye Summer Break...Hello School

Summer is officially over! Friday was my first day back for the school year. When I dropped the kids off on Friday morning, I could have cried. I am excited for the school year but it has been a great summer. We have just had a lot of fun doing nothing somedays or going to the pool, zoo, beach, park, and lots of other places on other days. I'm so thankful I have 2 months off to spend with my great kids. This is how we spent our last day of summer...

We enjoyed the day at our local Rec Center and it was a blast!
