Turkey Day

Thanksgiving Day has already come and gone. I cannot believe it! David was on shift again this year. We had planned on going to eat with him at the fire station but that didn't happen because Sam still wasn't feeling well. We still enjoyed our day at home, watching the Macy's parade for Santa Clause and even making Oreo turkeys to enjoy and share. We didn't miss out on our turkey dinner though. We celebrated the next day at Nana and Pop's. It was delicious and just great to spend time with family.

Check out their cute creations. They did not last long at all! At least I can say they did eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day!

Sitting at the real turkey dinner...

Sam loved his first turkey dinner. He really wasn't as into eating as he was playing with the table cloth! Thanks to Sam, I was not able to over stuff myself as I was making sure all of the food didn't end up in Sam's lap!

The Oreo turkeys made another appearance...

Sam was all smiles for his first Thanksgiving...
David, as always, can make Sam smile so big...
Sam must have felt like he overdid it with the food because here he is working his way into the push-up position. I thought this was too funny! I'm pretty sure we will have a crawler sooner rather than later!
Oh no...David has hair again!!! No wonder my kids always smile when he is around!!!
Now...let the Christmas season begin...
Happy Holidays!!!

God's Love...

This is what I am most thankful for this season.

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100

We are blessed in many, many ways. I could name them all but I know the important things in my life, the things I am most thankful for are gifts from God. Without His love, I would not be able to love! It is my sincere prayer that I can love those around me as He loves His children.

A Much Needed Break

At this very moment, I am thankful for some time off with my kiddos!

We have had a fun morning playing, playing, and playing in our jammies. Sam is sick (poor baby!) but not to sick to enjoy a race with his big brother and big sister.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Pray for Paw-Daddy

My dad, Paw-Daddy, had a stroke about 10 days ago. He is still in ICU, on a ventilator, in Texas. I don't know what the future holds but I do know that it is in God's hands. Please pray for our Paw-Daddy!

We Love You Paw-Daddy!!!!

Halloween

We had a very Happy Halloween week! The kids have been counting down to Halloween ever since the first of October. Logan was so excited when we were on the countdown in the single digits. So, we read a lot of Halloween books. Nate the Great and the Halloween Hunt was Logan's favorite and Fancy Nancy Halloween or Bust! was Addie's favorite. We also had fun carving pumpkins later in the week. On Friday night, we went to Trunk or Treat at our church and Saturday night was the real deal, Trick or Treating! It was cold on Saturday night and there were lots of little ones out and about. Our neighborhood had lots of houses that really get into Halloween. Fire pits were also a very popular thing this year. David's parents came over to help out so David and I both got to take Logan and Addie out. After trick-or-treating, we had some surprise visitors, the kids' cousins. That was the icing on the cake for kids! I think it was a perfect night, at least for Logan and Addie. Poor Sam was feeling a little under the weather but we managed to put him in a festive outfit to at least get a picture. This outfit was worn by both Logan and Addie. It's a tradition but we were planning on putting him in a cute, cute Dumbo costume that was borrowed from his cousin. Oh well, the night was still filled with excitement. I don't think Sam minded one bit that he missed out on the Dumbo costume!

A yummy jack-o-lantern pizza for dinner on Halloween...

Here is the princess with her knight in shining armor...

One last picture before trick-or-treating...
Daddy and Sam...
Sam and his Nana...

Here is our princess with her very favorite thing...BUBBLE GUM!!!!!

Pretty cousins... (Thanks Ashton for the beautiful princess costume!!)

Here is our knight... (His favorite part of this outfit was the sword. I think he got a few people when he was going in for their candy. Thank you Jackson for this great costume!)

Here they are in front of the scary house! The princess has no reason to be afraid of the scary man behind her because she had a handsome knight standing right beside her. He seriuosly carried that sword just like that the whole time around!

And here is our little pumpkin all tired and wondering when he was going to bed!!!
It was a great holiday! We got WAY TOO MUCH CANDY! I believe the candy fairy will be making a visit to our house very soon to take the candy back to Candyland!

Fall Fun at the River

Last weekend we visited Grammy and Papa Skip at the river. My Uncle Phil and Aunt Gwen were in town and it has been years since I have seen them. My Uncle Bob and Aunt Janice were also there. We get to see them a lot since they also built a cabin on the river. It was a great weekend of visiting and playing. I wish I had some pictures to post of my aunts and uncles but when I went to take some pictures, my camera batter had died! I was sad but I did get lots of pictures of the kids before the batteries went out.

Summer is over so there were no boat rides or swimming but there was a lot of fun to be had at the fall party. My brother Luke and his family were also there for the fun!
Our 3 kids posing with their cousin Scooby Doo, better known as Madison, in front of the Halloween scene.

I love Sam's smile in this picture!

Sam and his cousin Savannah...

Addie and her very best river buddy, McKayla...

Sam had so much fun he just couldn't stay awake!

Having fun on the hay-ride...

A trip to the river would not be complete without some fishing time at Little Lake.

We always have the best time when we go visit Grammy and Papa Skip. Mom always goes all out to make sure that the kids have everything they need and more! Thank you Mom and Skip for a great weekend!!
