English exercise ?

Warning:This is a 'sampat' post
I got this from my last english tutorial class. The tutor gave us some exercise papers and ask us to finish it in 40 minutes. I guess that makes her job easier. Sit down, look around make sure nobody falls asleep and discuss the answers.
All of a sudden I was laughing with my friend in the class. why?

We saw this question
Q8. In all relationships, there needs to be some _______ and_______
a. push and pull b. Ins and outs c. give and take d. up and down
The tutor said the answer is C when any of the 4 choices could be correct. Right? push pull in out up down thingy.

I don't know if the tutor knew what were we laughing at but a few minutes later, we were laughing again.

Q51.They look ridiculous together, he's really short and she's so _____? this one, i don't know.
a) high b)tall c)great d)large
Looks like somebody got the adult knowledge test mixed up in an english exercise paper.

Excuses? or Reasons?

hi people ! I'm back after more than a month away from blogging.

Recently I have been wondering why can't I just spend like 2 hours a day on my studies while many people can. After thinking for a while I have found the answer to that question.

1. The main reason of course my...
Computer (which includes internet, music, games and so on). pentium 4 may be outdated now but my computer is still good enough for me.

Trying not to switch on my computer for one day is as if like challenging Bill Gates as the richest person on earth.
2. My housemates
The crowd-"OCEAN'S THIRDTEEN" (one absent)
Almost all of these dudes spend their time in the house online, playing games, and making noise.

With that many people around the environment is just not meant for studying unless you wake up 4am in the morning when everybody is asleep. There are 15 dudes in the house (including me) believe it or not and there are now 14 computers. Some of it equiped with very loud speakers.

3.The house

The number of computers can make the house look like NetCity.

The singers (or screamers) in the house make it sound like Red Box.

The giant speakers can even make the house sound like chillout

and also occassionally like GSC (minus a projector)

Okay, those are more like excuses for not working hard enough but it certainly has affected my studies in some way.

Just imagine, can you study in such environment?

Become a man

I have been wondering for some time about this. When and how can a guy call himself a man?

Most of the people would say that you officially become a man when you're 21.

Some say its after a guy's pubescent.

eleh~~~ Mine is better than his

There are also some who thinks having a girl friend makes them a man... which is quite stupid to me.

Some even say that joining the military makes them a man.

Not sure if these guys are really from the navy

Smokers think that smoking makes them a man. DO NOT SMOKE ya... Every puff costs you your $$$ and your health.

But the most interesting of all, are those who call themselves a man after they lose their virginity for the 1st time.

That's Steve Carrell in '40 year old virgin'

I'm not too sure about all those opinions...What do you think?

Things that went wrong from September to October

1st. My semester exam, I messed up, i know. It's the first semester and the diploma course is far from over. I think the main reason for my poor results was that I didn't follow up from week 1 and I wasted too much time on something else. And now I put myself in a tougher position than last semester. I've learnt from my mistakes now, it is time to make things right.

Last semester was like England's Euro 2008 Qualifying campaign.
DISAPPOINTING...

Any way, there is a thing called 'resit' in college and England won't get to turn their result against Russia to keep their hopes alive.

OK, that's all for college. Next is my vacation to Genting-K.L.

If I'm not mistaken, this is worse trip to the City of Entertainment because I didn't get to play outdoors. I've been thinking about those roller coaster rides weeks before I went and when I'm there the weather was bad. I ended with sleeping in the hotel room until afternoon. What a waste ! But I couldn't do a thing about it right? The good is that the weather was very cold. NICE...

What was "50 cent" trying to do with that quick hand?

I did almost everything I could indoors, took lots of pictures there. Too bad I'm not old enough to enter the casino or else it wouldn't have been so bad.Or maybe worse !? haha

If that's not bad enough for a vacation, there was something worse that happened in K.L.

Any one remember this now-100kg dude from SMKTI ?

I remember of him as a good friend and that's why I tried hard to get a suitable date to hang out at K.L. It happened as planned but what was not planned is his direct-sales talk. We haven't met for quite a long time so I thought we could at least get some update on each other but he was more busy trying to introduce me to this direct-sales job. He even put all 5 of us in some kind of talk for 2 and half hours without trying to get us out of there after his promised "30 minutes" was over.

Damn it ! It's my vacation ! And you put me into that place and waste all my time !!!??? I'm still not happy about it until now ! argh ! Because of that, Bing didn't get to join us at Eye on Malaysia the following night. Too bad...
Lastly, my 19th birthday on the 14th of October.

Well, I have a few of my friends to thank for making things better. Especially PC for treating me pizzas at Pizza Hut and Kevin for making that futsal game possible. I appreciate that.

The sad part of my 19th birthday was my family. They didn't buy me a birthday cake suprisingly for the 1st time in 19 years. All my parents did was '19 years old already harr... be a good boy. naa... give you ang pow'. I was still hoping for a last minute suprise after my futsal game. I was about 1130pm when I got back home but... sadly that's all for my birthday. Maybe its because I haven't achieve any thing yet.

That's all history now, hoping for a good year end to 2007

What went wrong and how?

Finally the semester exam come to an end ! (on the 18/9 for me) which also means the beginning of my 1st semester break, in other words HOLIDAY !!!

For most KTAR pupil, it's time to relax, to go for a vacation or work for some pocket money. But I am not too pleased with my exam and I don't think I fully deserve a holiday. Any way, today's post is about my 1st semester in KTAR PG. Today I look back and see what went wrong in a very disappointing period in college.

Before the semester started I said to myself that I will push hard for a 4 flat result. I didn't know what to expect back then and few weeks into the semester I was getting lazier and lazier already. By the time exam is a couple weeks away, a '4 flat' was already an impossible task. Why is it impossible? Because I made it that way.

I spend way too much time in front of computers online and playing games. And whenever I fall asleep during an afternoon, most of the time I'll oversleep until 8pm. It's a very a bad habit because I rarely wake up an hour or two after an afternoon sleep. It made sleeping at night difficult and besides the time wasted, it does affect my concentration the next day.

I haven't got my results but based on how I did my preparations, I know it can't be good. And worse still, my result is not the only thing that concerns me.

My attitude at home have been nothing but worse than before. I am more emotional, more impatient and the worst of all, more rebellious ! And being rebellious is more sinful than being lazy.

As far as my GPA is concerned, I'll spend some time to look back and make sure that I don't repeat the same mistakes I made. Those problems can be fixed, I'm sure !

About my changing attitudes at home... what can i say about that? I've grown up, I can earn my own pocket money but it doesn't mean that being independent is being more rebellious right? I swear I will make sure that this doesn't get any worse.

That's all for now, need to pack my stuff for my Genting-KL trip tonight. Send in your comments , I would like to see what people have to say about this.

Exam tension ~~~

Here I am sitting in front of the computer with the semester exam less than 3 days away(saturday 8th of Septemper).

The 1st subject to be examed is hubungan etnik.Quite boring.Very much like the SPM level's Sejarah but this is tougher.I can either spend hours reading it or let it fail which is something i don't want.2nd subject will be english language on the same day, I won't be spending too much time on this one because I got bigger headache with other subjects.Hopefully my mind is not too tired after the 1st paper.

3rd subject on the following Monday is one of my major worries.ACCOUNTS !!! With zero accounting basic i have been struggling to catch up with what the lecturer taught. On Wednesday I have Business IT ! A subject I seriously cannot afford to fail after living with computers for more than 10 years. Microeconomics is next on Friday. I heard many people have failed this paper. It is quite an interesting subject to me but to really understand is not easy.Another big worry for me.

And lastly on Tuesday 18th of September, Business Statistics. To most chinese students, this subject is a piece of a cake.Maybe it's just the chinese tradision to be good in maths. Some people can fail their language papers in SPM and get an A for maths but that's not me.This is the last subject and i have an extra day to prepare for it.So there is some reason why despite my laziness throughout the 1st semester, I still should pass this subject.

At the begining of the semester I was thinking of scoring a 4-flat result but now my main goal is to pass all the subjects. Every failed subject is an extra pressure for the next semester and not just time, but I need to spend some money to resit the paper.

My senior said enrolling into TAR College is an easy task but graduating in 2 years requires a lot of effort.I strongly believe I can make it through in 2 years and I will ! enough said, time to study ! wish me luck (^^)v

Study Hard or Die Hard

12 weeks into my 1st semester in Penang TAR College and I'm still not making much progress in my studies.Today is the 19th of August 2007, my semester exam will begin on the 6th of September which means,I have 18 days left to prepare for 6 subjects and that makes it 3 days per subject. NOT GOOD !!!

Recently I post this picture on my friendster.Which says 'Study Hard or Die Hard'.Okay, its not like my dad will kill me if I don't do well in my exams. What I'm trying to say about 'Die Hard' is that if I fail a subject or more, I will have a tougher time in the next semester as I have to resit those papers.A waste of time and money.

After spending months working I find it difficult to get back to study ways.Usually what I do after work is eat,online,relax... I did the same thing after class in college.
I don't think my hostel is a very good place to study but the biggest problem I'm facing is still myself.
The question is: Can I at least pass all my subjects in the remaining 18 days? This is going to tough because I made it this way.

1408 review

Movie description by Yahoo.com
Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin believes only in what he can see with his own two eyes. But after a string of best-sellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he has no real proof of life--afterlife. But Enslin's phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel for his latest project, "Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms." Defying the warnings of the hotel manager, the author is the first person in years to stay in the reputedly haunted room. Another best-seller may be imminent, but first he must go from skeptic to true believer--and ultimately survive the night.

Just watched this movie last week and frankly i enjoyed the movie very much.Plenty of frightening scence. The only part i didn't like was the ending which was just okay...

However,i still think that this movie is a worth watching ghost movie.I don't know what you think but I would rate it at B-.

After watching the movie,me and a housemate tried to make our own version of 1408

Starring: Donovan Slim

My roommate as The dead body on the bed of room 1408

And the ghost in Room 1408

Yes,I mean GHOST

Penang Bridge Marathon 2007

I'm back !!! after weeks away from blogging mainly because i wasnt really used to college life yet and my time management wasn't very good.Any way, here i am once again.Still feeling some of the effects left on me after the longest marathon of my life so far.22.3km was the distance but i walked for the last 10 or 12 km because of the sores on both of my legs.
Lack of training, lack of sleep,2 hours of non-stop football action in the nearby Net-City,poor organising (that made me walk for an extra mile before the race) and being late really made things worse.I didn't even know when did the race started !

we still have the time for this before the race without knowing that we were late !

I was very much in mood for a long distance run while PC Wan was so busy with his camera. He even brought a tripod with him during the run. Thanks much dude...

Yes,that's me taking a short nap to pose before resuming my run.

I was maintaining my pace quite well for the first 5km until my body started to dehydrate.I had to continue my run for another 20 minites or so to reach the nearest water station.I was okay all the way from the starting point to The bridge.Just when i made the turn at mainland my legs started to sore followed by my lower back pain half way through the bridge on my way back to Penang Island ON FOOT.

My left ankle hurts,my right calf which was injuried in a football game about 2 weeks ago also hurts.I kinda knew that those pain were coming but i didnt expect both of my sweaty inner thigh to brush against each other until my skin almost peeled off ! I stopped a few times on the bridge to get some counter-pain that barely helped.

The Snickers chocolate bar that almost didn't do any good.

I tried jog a few times but i gave up in less than 100 metres.I wasn't the only one walking all the way back to the Island, almost everybody i can see was walking ! The only thing in my mind at that time was to go over the finish line.At first,it was a test of fitness, stamina but after 10km or so it was a test of willpower,to me.

I did finish the race in about 3 hours in 15 minites. Not bad, considering the training i had and the injury on my calf.

The good news is that i didn't suffer any cramp ! The bad news, i had to walk like a 'tua lam pah' all the way back to Kay Ewe's car because my inner thighs hurt like hell !!!

The whole marathon experience have been a great one.I'm not too sure if all that effort i put in is worth of i get (medal+certificate+PAIN) but its worth a try.

I don't know if I'm going participate in another 22.3km marathon again but to those who are interested, here's some personal advise from me.

1) Making sure you plan and train well.

2) Get all the tips for the marathon you can possibly get.

3) Get enough sleep before the race.

4) Organise your pre-marathon preparations (e.g. drink plenty of water, powerbar, etc)

5) Don't take a gay picture like theses guys did.

Cakes

I like cakes and i think many people do depending on its flavour, etc. Yesterday was my dad's birthday and the cake is chocolate flavour with lots of chocolate rice on it.

Yummy... looks like a nice cake and it is ! Really enjoyed it.That is for my dad's birthday.Recently i bought a cake for my mom for mother's day.

The size of the white-pink colour cake is actually big BUT... if you think it will fill in more in your stomach, you are wrong ! To my surprise, the inside of the cake is like this ...

Damn it... the chocolate flavour cake is sooooo much better and is cheaper by 50% ? All i want to say here is... dont make the same mistake i did.Okay ?

2007 TARC Orientation Week

I attended all 5 days of the Orientation at TARC PG this week.I didnt bring my camera along so i cant show any pictures of it here.

Everybody is devided into groups and sitted in the College Auditorium. It started with boring speeches before seperating all freshmen into different classes. The 1st day was the most day of the 5.
Station games, sports and treasure hunt are fun but running around the college under the sun really can turn me into a black man...

Plenty of clapping and screaming to do.Freshmen are divided into 2 big groups,SOT and SBS.All the student leadings are screaming until their voice are out.I ask myself,What's the point?

5 days of orientation is like an introduction to the college in the hard way.But nevermind, there is only 1 orientation. The Dota song was also played over and over again for ore about 10 times?Maybe the Orientation week is also a Dota Introduction Week?

My group performed a cat walk show for the variety show.Felt like i was 'forced' to do it.This will be the first and the last ! Im not going to do this again...

Some think the orientation week is fun, some think its boring. I think its just okay... not bad ... quite tiring, starts from 8am to 5 something in the afternoon.

The 1st semester of 14 weeks starts on Monday ! hohoho~~~ Here we go ~!!!

Road To TARC-3

Tomorow will be my 1st orientation day which kicks-off my college life and diploma course. It also puts an end to my long holiday.

This is the place i will be for the next 2 years.Almost everything is new to a brat like me,including my own laundry.

At home,my mom does all that work for me.I also have my own room with 1 queen size bed and a single bed ! But now i have to leave that comfort zone and face a totally new environment.I will leave my sweet home sooner or later.Grow up,be independent.

At my Tanjung Bungah hostel,i will be sleeping on the floor and handle all my loundry. What worries me more is the space of the room.Hopefully me and my roommates can cope with it.

All my stuff prepared ! The cup of drink with burnt paper in it is part of the preparation. Not sure if it works or not.Hopefully it does. Its up to you to believe it.

2.30pm now ! Time to leave. I wonder be blogging as often as i do because there is no internet access in my place. So,when i have an internet connection, i will post more on my life in TAR College Penang. Wish me luck !!! hehe.

28 weeks later review

Just saw the movie for the 2nd time today. To be honest with you,the only reason i watch this movie twice is because i don't want to spoil my friends' mood because Seng Keat paid for me.2 or 3 of them was thinking that this is going to be a good movie that is worth the price.

But guess what? 5 out of 6 people regretted what they paid for.The only person who insisted on watching this movie from the start was the only person who acted like he enjoyed it.Come on guys... If you got balls i bet this movie is not going to scare you at all.

All right,back to the movie.

As you can see in the picture, this movie has got plenty of running action.I wonder how those infected 'zombies' managed to run that quick.Any way,if i were to see people running, i rather watch football or something little more like they did in the movie, rugby !

The only good part was when the US Army lost control of the virus and started to shoot civilians.Very much like Half-Life and Serious Sam if you can remember those games.

Those big snipers are cool. How nice if i get to shoot like they did in the movie.

The rest of the movie, the story line... If you have watched movies like Resident Evil and the sequel to this movie '28 days later' ,you probably already knew half the story of this movie. Its all about i bite you,you bite him,and then we bite everybody and some of us gets shot.Like vampire movies.

MY rating- 2 out of 5 or D
