trick or treat
Okay the new Picasa pretty much sucks because this is going to be the THIRD time I have to blog this entry to get it posted. Grrr. Okay, so I lost an entire CHUNK of ramblings about my 10USD/hr job, snow that just floated down minutes ago and about a terrible relationship that went wrong. And I really wouldn't want to make things stale and retype everything again; so I'll just be some photoblogger whore and make do with my halloween pictures.

some singaporeans finally coming out to play
yet another halloween party with Balchettes
Shall write something more substantial in the future. I have to mug for a microeconomics prelims NOW and kick some ass tomorrow. Haha. =)

big (expensive) apple
I woke up (late) today with this very sick feeling in my stomach for several reasons : 1) I missed my physiotherapy session which means that some unwanted charges will show up on my bursar for a cancelled appointment 2) School officially starts today. =(
It was a good and short recharge. A tad too expensive though, blasting like 700USD for a 3 days 2 nights trip. I swear this is the last Fall/Spreak/Thanksgiving break that I'm going to spend in a big city. Its way too unhealthy for my parents to bear and all the guilt for me to contend with after all the spending and spending.
NYC is really all about the bright lights and sparks. I'm secretly kinda glad that my life now work outs kinda well in a farm, where things are much more safer and less hectic. Aside from the fact that shopping trips are reduced to a 1/2 a day at the supermarket, I dont think I would want to trade Ithaca for a life in Manhatten. Still, I'm keeping my transfer options when the time comes... an opportunity to un-bury myself from school work and lead a more balanced lifestyle.
People at Penn & Columbia were rather shocked when they learnt about what we did during weekends. Answer : erm, MUG? Yeah, that sums up the sad truth of having to attend school in a competitive environment and whining to TAs about the enormous workload doesnt help because their lousy reply would run along the lines of : we're an ivy league, live with it, dude. And it made me think of the couple of other wierd things that we actually do during weekends. 1) Spend 2 hours at the dining hall eating a meal 2) Creating Belgian Waffles with CORNELL stamped across it (sounds strange, but its true) 3) Zipping around in winter jackets when its post-summer.
Which kind of reminds me about the erratic weather predictions we are going to get over the weekend. -2 degree celsius and expected snow/fluff over the weekend. I can't believe we're getting all this crap when it was barely summer 3 weeks ago. What ever happened to fall? But snow? Haha. Everyone will kill me if I said it out loud; I'm sooo looking forward to it. First time in my life. A defining moment at least, to dance around in my new winter jacket and sniff in the stinging cold air =D

regaining my sanity
fall creek . beebe lake every morning .
In another hour's time, I will be heading down to New York City for a little weekend getaway. I'm envious though; everyone's in the holiday mood, busy packing rushing stuffing that last pair of shoes to bring home. It feels somewhat like CNY here to me, when we'd be rushing home from school after a half-day of classes, engage in some furious packing and get whisked off in a long 5 hour trip back to malaysia. They're all going home, and I wish I could.
People around me have been acting strangely nowadays. Sometimes they just dont get it no matter how obvious and simplified I try to make things be. Its never about the guys who are interested in me, but finding a guy whom I'm interested in. That makes me on the pathway to being an old cranky spinster. But sometimes I really wished people would leave me alone...I need alot of space and I hate it when people impose themselves into my life.
Headed down to the Class of 2010 tailgate party last Saturday. Its some american tradition to have the freshies run down the football field in its first homecoming game. Obviously the school is getting too rich for its good. They have all these rubbishy abnoxious class of 2010 clappers and towels that they were literally throwing at us. The football scene here is quite sad though; the stadium was barely filled...its nothing like all those rah-rah cheering sessions we used to have in JC. I guess its because the football team here sux though. haha.
And yet again, a wierdo has left his mark on one of the school buildings to commerate Steve Irwin. Was walking past this building the other day to realize that our poor IVIES got prune. At least the words are pretty symmetrical (:
Okay, time to do some last minute checking now before I go off. Geez I'm going to be sooo late again. And I do hope I find the perfect UGGs in NYC. Till then peeps.
