Princess Maddy

We are officially a household with a princess. Everything we talk about, play with, watch on the television, and read about is princesses. All of the colors that she happens to point out are correlated with what princess wears that color. She is loves to look at the princesses shoes in the books and has recently wanted to wear dresses all day long. When we ask her which princess is her favorite she goes through all of the princesses and tells us they are all her favorite.

HailyBug

So Haily has officially gained the nickname Haily Bug. And she is growing and growing way too fast. She just recently giggled and rolled over for the first times. She is very content and happy all of the time. We have been very lucky with such a good baby.

Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween. Maddy was Dorothy and Haily was a ladybug. We went to my parent's trunk or treat on Friday and halfway through the cars Maddy was ready to be done. On Saturday, we went to our trunk or treat and again Maddy was done after only a few cars. She still got a lot of candy that she is sharing with me.

Maddy

Maddy has been so wonderful with Haily. I was really worried about the transition and how she would react but she has surprised me with how much she likes her. She doesn't like to hold her but she is more than willing to share her toys with her. She also seems to be learning new things everyday and she is getting quite the sense of humor.

More of Haily

I can't believe how fast little Haily is growing! She is already 6 weeks old. She is smiling and cooing. She is such a sweet little girl!

All of us Klingler girls

Cora and Haily

We are so excited to announce the newest member of our family, Haily Marie. She was born September 5. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 inches long. Cora did amazing and was so strong through 36 hours of labor. How blessed we are to now have two wonderful birthmothers and two beautiful little girls in our home!

Swimming

Maddy with her friend Kate

We took Maddy and her friend Kate swimming the other day and they had a blast. Kate loved to go in the water and lay on her belly. She was fearless, Maddy on the other hand was a little more timid. They both loved the lazy river. It was fun to watch these two interact. They just love each other.

Grandpa Dancing

Grandpa with the Clown

The rodeo clown pointed out Grandpa during the steer wrestling event. He said that if the next cowboy got under 6 seconds then Grandpa would have to dance. Well the cowboy got over 6 seconds so then the cowboy said that if the next cowboy got under 45 minutes then Grandpa would have to dance. He took Grandpa down to the bottom of the stands and then the next cowboy got less than 5 seconds so the announcer turned on the music and Grandpa started dancing. He was such a trooper and did such a great job.

Maddy with her new cowboy hat from Big J's

My mom, Maddy, and I went up to Preston on Friday to start celebrating a wonderful weekend filled with family, parades, and best of all the rodeo. We helped care for Grandma on Friday because she wasn't feeling well. And then on Saturday we enjoyed the sidewalk sale, catching up with family, and eating yummy food. Maddy stayed busy by playing with her cousins, trying on everyone's shoes, and petting the three dogs that were there. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for everything we had a blast!

Fireworks

A few days before the 4th of July we had our own little fireworks show and Maddy was a little concerned at first. She slowly got excited about the pretty colors and things that would spout out of the fireworks. When it came time to do sparklers, I was shocked she agreed to hold one and twirl it around. But then after the sparkler was done she touched the stick and it burned her little fingers, now she is so scared of fireworks and shakes when she sees them go off. Poor thing. Hopefully by next year she will have forgotten and will warm up to the idea of holding a sparkler again.

Summer

So far this summer, we put up the pool for Maddy and she was so excited that she couldn't wait to put on her swimsuit. So to avoid the tears we stripped her down and let her play in the water "nakie."

We were also lucky enough to go to Boise with Doug while he worked for a few days. This is her new dress swimsuit, as Maddy calls it, that Grandma bought her.

We also had to say goodbye to family who is moving to Oregon. Maddy is really going to miss Cara and Clinton.

In May, we also went to visit Maddy's birthmom, Ally, and her new baby Issy. Maddy was a big helper with Issy. It was great to see Ally again and to show her how big Maddy is getting.

Celebrating Maddy's birthday early with Ally.

We have also been eating a ton of ice cream. It is Maddy's new favorite food.

1st Haircut

After the haircut

Not happy during the hair cut

Maddy's hair was getting long and all of her baby hair was getting scraggly (don't know if this is a real word) at the bottom so we decided to cut it. She was not happy having someone else touching her head even though she was on my lap. They cut about three inches and we love it!

Maddy and Ariel

Maddy LOVES the Disney Princesses. She carries around the Princess books all day. She loves to watch the movies. She will go to her Princess things and point out all of the Princesses and their names. At first I thought she was going to be a Belle fan but she quickly switched her favorite to Ariel when she found that she swam. We found an Ariel barbie doll at the store and she wouldn't put the box down so we bought it and now Ariel goes everywhere with us. She loves to watch The Little Mermaid and now at dinner she will use her fork (dinglehopper) to comb her hair even with food on the fork. She even tries to sing like Ariel and it is so cute. We just love our little Maddy.

Easter Day

The Easter bunny stopped by in the morning and Maddy found her basket with help from Mom and Dad. It was also wonderful to celebrate Christ's Resurrection with General Conference and to be able to listen to the prophet's words. We had dinner at my parents and then enjoyed a great relaxing afternoon.

Easter Egg Hunt

It was so cold the Saturday before Easter, so instead of going to the city egg hunt, we had our own little egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Being the only grandchild in town, it made it pretty uneventful but we had fun cheering her on as she looked for the Easter eggs.

Craft Day

I have been trying to come up with some ideas on how to keep Maddy and I busy during the day while Doug is either at school or at work. I came across a great blog that has ideas on fun things to do with your toddler. I then came up with a plan where each week we learn something new and then incorporate crafts and different activities. So far it has been pretty fun, she is still a little too young to know how to do some of the crafts but she seems to be catching on pretty well. Here are some of the things we have done (where I actually took pictures). As she is getting older, she is getting so much fun!
