So many changes

With Doug accepting a new job in Boise, we said a tearful goodbye to our first home. We have so many wonderful memories there and will always cherish the people we made friends with in our ward and neighborhood.
The girls reading a book and being so good while we packed up the house. Maddy would get mad when I would pack up her things and ask where I was putting it. She was a little confused.

Paige finally learned to crawl at around 9 1/2 months. Both her and I are happier now that she can follow the girls around and play with them.

All of the girls got roses from Doug on Valentine's Day. Paige ripped hers up within minutes of getting it, Haily looked at it and then dropped it, but Maddy loved her rose! She slept with it and carried it around for days.

They are good friends!

We close on our house on the 30th of this month and how wonderful it will be to get out of this apartment. My girls will once again be able to make as much noise as they want without me having to tell them to be a little more quiet because people live underneath us! It will be wonderful to have more space again too.

Our little boy Paige

So coming from Pocatello, I knew that we were a freak show over there wherever we went. You name it be Walmart, the mall, out to a restaurant, people stared. It was inevitable someone would always make a comment like how close are they or the classic are they twins? When I would reply that you weren't twins most people would then ask, Are they both yours? And when I would reply yes they would either look at me weird or they would say you got pregnant fast. I would just nod yes and then politely go on our way. I bet I get the phrase, You have got your hands full, at least by 2 different people per outing.

Anyway, coming to Boise with there being so many people I didn't think that seeing me and my three little ones would be attention getting like it was in Pocatello. Well I was wrong. We went to the mall for the first time on Tuesday. I strolled the girls around trying to find an elevator and to no avail I didn't find one. So I spotted the nearest escalator and thought this should work, boy was I wrong. I grabbed Paige and folded up a stroller I then persuaded Maddy and Haily to get near the escalator. I am holding Paige in one arm and holding two strollers in the other and trying to gently nudge 2 scared little girls onto the escalator. After what seemed like forever someone yells out to me and says we are coming to help you. Even with her help both Maddy and Haily fell on their bums, but we made it down to the first floor without any injuries. So the ending was a success.

We then get to the mall play area and two minutes later Maddy announces that she needs to go potty. So I pack everyone up again and we head to the bathrooms. I put Paige on the floor (gross I know) and as Maddy gets down, Paige then pulls herself up to the potty and tries to reach in. I grab her and hurry and help Maddy so we can get out of there. After playing in the play area, I decide we should grab lunch. Not wanting to attempt the escalators again we find an elevator to get onto and then we head to McDonald's. On our way there a cute older gentleman looks down at the kids in the stroller and says what a cute little boy and girl. I just smile and keep walking. Paige has been known to being called a boy before. I then get up to the counter at McDonald's and order 2 happy meals and the lady looks at the kids and says for a boy and girl? I say no for 2 girls and she looks back down and says oh yeah that is a girl. 2 strikes for poor Paige. We made it through lunch with constant nagging at Maddy to sit in her chair so that we don't have a disaster happen. Then Haily has had enough of the stroller and is trying to get out, so I bribe her with ice cream so she will stay seated. We are standing in line for ice cream and a couple with a little baby are standing behind me. They are talking to each other and I hear her say What an ideal situation a boy/girl twin combination. Strike 3 for Paige. Then a few minutes later I hear her say to her husband oh wait that is a girl. The thing is she did have brown pants on but she was wearing a pink shirt!

After we left the mall, I was exhausted. I talked to my mom on the phone later that day and told how I don't think we will do that again for a while. You three are hard right now but oh so worth all of the work!

Life is Good

The holidays were good to us and we thoroughly enjoyed them but I am sure glad the tree is down and the anticipation of Christmas is over. Now that I am a parent I have come to realize how wonderful and stressful the holidays really are.
This winter, so far, has been good to us. Hardly any snow and warm temperatures have made for some very happy girls who have had the opportunity to go outside and swing a few times. It is oh so wonderful to be able to go outside and breath some fresh semi warm air.
Most days we just stay inside and play. Haily has now discovered how to color on anything and everything when mom is getting ready in the bathroom. Maddy has had a blast having friends over to play with. She has discovered that having someone your age to play with is a lot funner than playing with your baby sisters. And Paige is discovering that maybe moving around would be a good idea after all, so that she can get what she wants.

Being a mom is just incredible. Life is Good!
