"Can I have some toast on my leg table mom??"
Sure, why not.................

Such a big boy

Megan gave Ethan his first official big boy haircut with clippers. He looks so grown up now and even has mini sideburns. His curls are gone off the back, but I'm sure they'll be back! This kid's hair grows fast, unlike someone else I know. **That second pictures is my hair. More photos to come** Thanks Megs!!

When I grow up.....

Our conversation in the car this morning included Olivia telling me she wanted to be a monkey when she grew up. She's unique....really unique. But, that is why we love her. This is the outfit she chose to go pick up Aunt Katie at the airport. It was Katie's when she was little so Livi wore it in honor I guess. Livi has a very similar personality to Katie at this age. Making up songs about everything and anything, LOTS of imagination, and Miss personality plus.

P.S. Yes, the guy at Costco did say to me, "Sorry pets are not allowed, ma'am." (good one....)

Just like Mike

I've been putting it off scared of what it could lead to. Mike thought it was time...so Livi learned to spit. Such a proud moment as a mother.

Temple Square Trip

On President's Day Mike had to work so I tagged along with Leah and fam to Temple Square. We went to the Museum of Church History & Art and over to see the Christus statue in the Visitor's Center. It's been awhile since I have been there and I am always amazed at the peacefulness and feelings I have while there. I hope a little bit of that was felt today by my children. I think Livi and Isaac were having more fun running up and down the circular ramp that leads to the statue. One day she'll get it.....

A Must have for moms....

Our next BIG purchase is hopefully going to be carpet. You can imagine what it looks like in a condo with 2 kids even though I try my hardest to lay down the law of food only on the tile. These two are sneaky and we're bad at taking off shoes. That being said...this is THE GREATEST carpet cleaner. Leah introduced me to it after having me pick her up some at Target. It was on the bottom shelf, oh so cheap, and some serious ghetto looking design. Don't judge the bottle by it's cover, it's great stuff and here is my plug for it. I use it probably on a daily basis. THE END>

Valentine's Day

Our day started out with some yummy heart shaped french toast. Livi didn't know what to think when Mike and I sat down to breakfast with her. Leah and I took the kids to jump-on-it. (I still like Kangaroo Zoo better for all those interested).
After Mike got home from work we had some yummy heart shaped pizza for dinner. After Mike cut it all up Livi said, "It's a pizza parking lot!!"

For dessert we had chocolate pudding, with crushed up Oreos and cool whip. It was so yummy....but soooooo messy. The kids were in heaven, but it was STRAIGHT to the bath afterwards.
Mike and I decided no presents since we just booked a cruise for May....but he can never follow the rules and this ended up in my mailbox along with some beautiful flowers. He's too good to me.

Classic

Ethan is getting into kicking the soccer ball and I was trying to get in on video. Who comes in and steals the show?? Livi of course!!!!! Mike and I were DYING laughing watching this last night. It is so classic Livi.

Sleepovers

This is how I found them the other morning. Livi had set up a little sleepover in the hall with their sleeping bags. I just love how she put their heads together. Ethan didn't quite get that he was supposed to stay in the bag.

First Birthday Bash

We had a small party for Ethan's bday with some family over. He was not scared of the cake I made him and dove right in. He was a fuzzy, chocolate mess and I was jealous. Livi had a rough night/morning (had the throw-up's) and wouldn't take a nap. Needless to say, she fell asleep in her high chair at 6 during dinner and missed the whole party. The next day she kept telling me Ethan didn't eat his cake. She just couldn't understand how she had missed the whole thing!"Gimme that thing NOW"

"Water Break"
"Done mom, ready for the bath"
(Please notice the water color)
My new kicks from Aunt Katie
My new hoop from Mom, Dad & Livi.

More SNOW!!

She would eat it all day if I would let her. It makes her so happy.....

OCD Perhaps??

Do you see a pattern here? This girl leaves traces of her OCD-ness all over the house for me to find! I wish I had pictures of all the evidence. Like mother, like daughter???

Safety Susan

This girl is Miss Safety lately. She informed me they "needed helmets". My response: I think you'll be fine with the one foot fall to the carpet! Oh no, she came back with "helmets" for the two of them.

"Don't Ask"

Another edition of the favorite......."Don't Ask"Pretty much every time I hear, "Help, Help!!!", you can pretty much guarantee everything is off her bed and she is under the sheets again.
"Exercising" (Please notice fan she brought out from her room mom!)
One of many "shows" I get performed to me daily. This one was particularly funny because she had her balloon on a string (Punch balloon AKA: potty prize) around her head and two animal shakers in hand and on her stool. What a crowd pleaser!
I don't even know what to say about this face. I see it whenever I say "Smile"

Poor Ethan

I'm pretty sure this is one of the meanest things I've done as a mom, but it had to be documented. This kid is TERRIFIED of this chicken. After this video was done shooting he wouldn't even go in that room until it had been removed. Livi thought I was horrible. Afterwards she ran into her room and got him her blanket and said, "Here bud, it's ok. It's only a chicken" It's not like he's scared of lots of things either. Livi has a monkey that is similar and that doesn't bother him. I know it's mean...but I think it's hilarious.

Happy V-day

Just ignore her little bowl cut. She does have a barrette in, it's just hard to see. This has reinforced that we don't leave the house without her hair done. Loves to all!!!

My Man

Ten reason's I'm glad he's my valentine:
1. Seriously......you've never met anyone funnier. This guy makes me laugh on a daily basis.

2. During Mike and I's dating/engaged/falling in love time my parents were living out of the country. My brothers were the ones to approve and report back to my parents. I remember I asked Jon what he had told them. He said, "I told them that he mellows you and doesn't let you get away with things". He told them many other things, but this is the thing I still remember 6 years later. Looking back, I am so grateful that Mike doesn't let me get away with things. I love that he calls me out when I'm being mean or tells me to calm down when my stress goes into overboard mode. He is a calming influence in my normally crazy life.

3. I always knew he would be a good dad, but he has exceeded ALL expectations. My kids WORSHIP their dad and get so excited when he comes home. Olivia tells me on a regular basis that Mike is her "best friend". No one can make them laugh harder or bring bigger smiles to their faces.

4. On the subject of kids, he gave me some pretty cute genes to make my darling kids.
5. I do not think I know one person who does not like my husband. He is just that type of guy. No drama with Mike. He is always himself and you get what you see.
6. He is very sensitive to me. He is the kind of guy that will take the kids for a weekend to give me a break. When he comes home and can tell I've had it, he sends me on my way to Barnes for a hot chocolate and mags. He has been known to show up with flowers on several occasions when a simple I'm sorry would have done the trick just fine. I come home to a clean house A LOT of the time when I've been gone. (Does it get better than that ladies?)
7. He's the Dovness....need I say more.
This is pre-photoshop by Leah. The tear in the picture is still there from when we got in an argument over it. He HATED this picture with a passion when we got together and I thought it was hilarious. I mean, does that look like the Mike any of you know and love? We have had several people call to ask us to settle a bet that the hair was photoshopped on...NOPE. That is my hubby in his glory days. I love the changes Mike has gone through in his life to be the person he is today.
8. He is a TOTAL kid at heart in a 30-something year old's body.
9. The guy has got some mean Guitar Hero skills and he's not afraid to share his talent.

10. Six years, Three houses, 4 cars, Two kids later........the flame still burns bright. I credit Mike for always keeping the romance in our marriage. He is always planning things for us to be together. I love him for still "courting" me.
A wise man once asked, "Would you rather be feared or loved? Both! I want you to be afraid of how much you love me." (Michael Scott) I fear how much I love you Mike. Happy V-day!!!
