Belt Test-Blue/White Belt

I'm not gonna lie, it took me awhile to warm up to being a karate mom. I still have no idea what a form is or what a round house is supposed to look like, but I see the smile on this kids face and it makes it all worth it.
I love the way he is so serious about his moves. I love when he tells me all the rules he follows and why. I love how his teacher hit the nail on the head when she complimented his attention to detail and sharp movements. I love how proud he is when he shows me he earned a new stripe. I love my future black belt.

We're baaaaccckkk.....

It is pathetic that I didn't even remember how to do this! With my parents gone in Bogota for 6 months, I figured now was the best time to get this thing rolling again. We are so lucky to get to FaceTime them whenever we want, but reading their blog is one of the highlights of my week.
On December 1st, Buddy our elf arrived on our doorstep. All day Ethan had been telling me that we had to read the book in order for him to show up. So we all gathered on our bed and read the book. Right as we finished the last page, there was a knock on our door. The kids were SHOCKED and ran to the door. There he was, sitting with some ice cream for us. We all appreciate Buddy's presence during the Holiday's.

On Tuesday we got our first BIG snowfall of the season. Grant couldn't wait for the kids to get home from school so he bundled up and went out on the deck. With almost a foot of snow on the deck, I never expected him to venture down the stairs.  I went in the other room to do something with Logan and when I came back out he was nowhere to be seen!  I saw evidence of footprints down the stairs, threw on my boots and found him on the sidewalk watching my neighbor snow blowing his driveway. I can't wait for a fence!!

As soon as the kids got home from school, Grant bundled back up.

This picture makes me laugh so hard. Mike and I wanted to shovel our driveway real quick so we threw Logan in this get up. THIS IS THE EPITOME OF A FOURTH CHILD in my opinion. Huge gloves thrown on to cover his hands, no socks, boots that are too big, the fact that I didn't' even realize one had fallen off until Olivia told me. (I was too worried about getting a smile) Look at him......STILL SMILING! Needless to say we didn't last long. Those darn boots would not stay on. It was off to the bath instead.
