Friday night, David & I played host to some people from the Arkansas branch of David's office! We had intended on having dinner together, then driving to Dallas to watch Scrooge. However, we ate at the Cheesecake Factory, which took longer than expected. Oh well, we decided to make new plans!
Instead, I took them to the Texas Treasures store, which is also in the mall, so they could buy souvenirs for their kids. It was rather funny to see their reactions to some of the items in the store. After we left there, some of us girls ventured into Nordstrom to look at shoes, and I struck gold! I found a great pair of red sandals for twenty dollars! Hooray!
Anywho, they were very nice, and I really enjoyed meeting them. It was funny to talk about the differences in culture in Arkansas and Texas. We saw them again at the company party, which was Saturday night. I had a performance with the Frisco Band, then I had to run home, change clothes so we could immediately leave for the party. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the time we got there!
The party was held at a ranch in McKinney. When we arrived, we went on a hayride, that took us to a little town. We could get drinks in the saloon, and the party was held in the dance hall. We feasted on barbecue and did some two-stepping! I met a bunch of people! David said there were probably around 200 people at the party! Many of them worked in the Dallas office, others were overnight people, and there were others from other places. David didn't even know all of them.
Some of them got up and sang Christmas songs during the party. There was much merriment and visiting. I had a good time and look forward to the shindig next year!
