Fresh Powder Baby !!, In AZ

Yes it snows in AZ, Dave, Greg, Colin and a couple of friends Zack and Taylor, went to Sunrise to snow board/ ski, they tried to go the day after Christmas but they could only get to Pinetop because they didnt have tire chains or our wheel drive, they were able to get there the next day thanks to Uncle Bob's 4 wheel drive. They had a great time staying at the cabin and enjoying Uncle Bob's elk chilli too. Great boys week end.
We had a great Christmas with all of our kids here, We have a wonderful family tradition of extended family and friends at our house for Christmas Brunch, umm I love it. It has been a favorite of mine since I married Dave, we always went to Aunt Mary's for Christmas brunch, now it is our turn to keep it going and I really love it. thank you Aunt Mary!
For all of you wondering, Chels is still hanging in there being very umcomfortable, and ready to have the baby any day now, hopefully that will be our next post on our blog.

'08 JV Season over "The Thrill of Victory, the Agony of Defeat, the Frustration of Referees, and the Love of Family"

Well another season ended, in a tie, yes Col got alot of playing time and had a great game but my camera wouldn't take that far away. He has had a good year and is already planning on what to do for the next, he LOVES football and has the Heart of a Lion. #17
"Go Hawks Hit Somebody , Go Montgomery" is what Dave would yell at every kick off the whole crowd would wait and listen for him, it was quite funny, when he would get too horse, then Troy Shepherd would be his sub.
We have loved going to his games and most of the time we are all there , the best family fan support ever. It has been so fun and a great bonding time for us, we are all looking forward to many more fall evenings (we wish it felt like fall) . We feel so blessed to have our married kids live close enough to share these times with us. We are looking forward to the Holidays , being with family, and then welcoming our "Graham" baby into this family, we hope he will find it a great place to be.

Wedding & My Amazing Mom

Dave and I had the opportunity to go to Logan Ut. to my niece Lissa's wedding Oct. 17, there was a wonderful breakfast in the Copper Mill restaurant, the ceremony in the Logan Temple and the reception in Id., it was just a great trip. We took my sister Colleen and other extended family /friend April Rehiese with us. The reception was in Clifton, Idaho so we traveled up to the reception that evening. On our way we looked for and found the grave of my third great grandfather Jefferson Hunt, there was also a monument there for him, and his cabin across the road. He was a Capitan in the Mormon Battalion and was sent by B. Young to settle many places in Ut., Id., and Calif. after they arrived in Ut. and completing his assignment of marching with the Battalion to Calif.

My mom 86 yrs. young was traveling with my sister and we traveled in caravan together when we found the site of the monument and grave mom was just so excited, the monument was way up on the top of a hill and she wanted to see it so much that she insisted on climbing the 76 stairs to the top, ( Lance and Dave helped her to balance) and she did, we are all amazed at her sharp mind ,but to think she could, and to see her climb those stairs was just amazing. She is a genealogy genius and that is her claim to fame, and she can connect just about any one to our family, so this was a real treat to all of us to see the place Jefferson Hunt had been and died after all he had done, it was just so fun, we are so blessed and thankful to have had such an amazing trip, it was beautiful country and fun to be with family.

I Love the Scriptures and quotes

Philippians 4:13:"I can do all things throught Christ who strengthens me."
The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverence, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success."

Girls Day Out

Girls Day Out, I love them , Meg, Chelsea, and I spent the day together Friday we had pedicures, brows waxed, shoulder massages and Lunch at "Crackers" it was just so fun to be together, I am so blessed to have such sweet loving daughters, (never thought it would happen when they were 10 & 12) JK . We don't get a chance to do this very often (every two years) since they both work and have very busy lives but it just happened they had the same day off so we plotted Thurs. night at Colin's football game and it actually work out.
Meg is working as a CNA (certified nurses assistant) at Banner Baywood Hospital , it is hard demanding work trying to comfort folks that just need everything, or nothing but attention. I have been impressed by her compassion and strong will (which she has always had) to get through this and on to Nursing School. Go Meg!! you can do it honey. Jared is so supportive and helpful when she is working 12 hour shifts, he is even learning how to cook more then mac and cheese:)
Chelsea is working at an orthodontist office as chair side asst, she likes the work and girls she works with, but I know her heart would rather be home nesting for her new little one on the way, that time will come, she is starting to show a little bump and is so cute, and HE is very active already and I'm sure her comfort level will go down as he grows, but how blessed to know he is growing and things are progressing just great. She and Ise are so excited, We all are !!! Grand baby #1.
I am a fan of Fridays togetherwith my daughters, for me as their Mom these are the precious times!
I'll try to get some pictures with this soon.

Best in the Buisness

Our son in law Isaac Bawden bought this buisness about a year ago, he is the owner operator of "WILLIS QUALITY CARPET CARE" he is the best around and we highly recommend him. Great Week

Eventful week , It started Thursday Chelsea and Isaac finally closed on their house, oh so cute and very excited , so Friday and Sat. the brothers helped them move and we helped un pack!!!! We are so excited for them to have their own home, and now prepare for their baby coming in Jan.
Friday Meg had to work so I was able to get advanced ticket for Meg's reserved copy of the new Twilight book, ( which actually Colin and I have been reading and can't wait till she is finished which should be tomorrow:), (Colin is only reading them "to find out what the hype is, and see why all the girls like it so much so he'll have an in":), LOL).
Also Colin picked up his football equipment for this year , he is playing JV for HIGHLAND
# 17 ! Go Hawks!!!
Saturday has been a long awaited day , Greg's Eagle project, it was great we had 35 awesome people come help, it went really great, we landscaped around a sign in Tempe for the entrance to Diablo Stadium. There was only one glitch no plants to plant , but then Dave drove around and found where they had been dropped off by the landscape guys ( in the wrong place) and we were able to move them, water and plant them. It was just fast and fun. Congratulations Bubba for a great planned event , and thank you to all who helped we could not have done it with out all of your support!!! ( I'll post pictures asap)
Sure glad Sunday is a day of rest.

Is this Heaven?

Well now we know what the hype is all about when people talk about staying at the beach. We (Dave, Tammy, Greg, Colin, Jones cousins, and Chelsea flew over Wed. ) went with friends, the Figgins Family to Newport for a wk. we rented a beach house a street from the beach.
Is this Heaven? The weather was perfect, the water was perfect, riding beach cruisers on the board walk, and around town was so fun, the boys had a blast with friends, cousins, and some other out of town girls:).
We would set up a shad in the mornings at the beach and leave it there all day so we could come and go, be in the shade, or sun, read, body surf, kid watch. Taking bike rides or walking to the donut shoppe in the mornings, and to the ice cream shop at night , ohhhh so sweet. (no calories in Cali., thats my story and I'm stickin to it.) We did some school shopping and found some great sales at the surf shop for t shirts.
I had to drag Dave off the beach kicking and crying to come home, ( well sort of, not a pretty sight) It really was the perfect most relaxing, no agenda vacation we have ever had.
We are already plotting how soon we can go back , it looks like a tradition, our only hope is that we can get all of our kids their next time, and the next time .......Summer '08 Memories

Fun Summer Trip~ Colin

In June Colin his two cousins Hunter, and Cole, had an awesome opportunity to go on "The Joseph Smith Legacy Tour" with a group of youth from Az, and Ut. lead by a seminary teacher from Az. They were gone for six days, they flew to Buffalo NY, and drove on a chartered bus to
Palmyra N.Y.(Smith Homestead, Sacred Grove, Grandin Print Shop, Hill Cumorah, Whitmer Home),
Kirtland Ohio ( Whitmer Store Kirtland Temple, Johnson Home),
Nauvoo Ill.( visitors Center, Baptisms in Nauvoo Temple, Carthage),
Far West, & Independence Mo. (Liberty Jail). then home.
It was a great trip with the opportunities to learn and feel of the spirit as it
bore testimony to them of the truthfulness of the
things that happened at the places they had been. We only wish we could
have been with him, it is great to hear of his excitement of the experiences.
Here are some pictures he took.

Friends - old and new, constant and true

Today I have been reminded how important Friends are, sometimes I have taken them for granted, and sometimes lost track of time between visits. Which I am so sad about we miss too much in each others lives, when we don't keep in touch. It is important to be there for each other, to share joys, sorrows, the growing of our children and the news of grand children ( for us old folks). So for all of my friends, you know who you are that I have had lunch with, talked to, and have been able to reconnect with I am grateful, even ones I see weekly I, we need to make sure we keep connected it is one of the sweetest things in life. I think that this blogging is so great for that. Love ya All , and I include my girls in that too, it helps us keep connected through busy weeks.

4th Week End,

We had a great 4th wk. end . Montgomery's and Bawden's (Chelsea's in-laws) went to Roosevelt lake and camped for 3 days . Well to say great might be a bit much, the water was great, the company was great, the jet skis and boat were fun, but the weather really stunk!! Who thought of camping in July in the desert uggg. if there was a breeze it was blowing us away, and if there wasn't a breeze it was stiffling. The best spot was in the water so that is where we were most of the time. We did get rain the evening of the 4th that was really nice.
The most important part was that we made fun memories, and the kids had a blast, moms and dads did too. we rented two jet skis and really had fun on them and Greg and Colin are getting to be great wake boarders, just as they were snow boarders, they just can't wait to go again.
We really missed not having Meg and Jared with us though, their new jobs are getting in the way of family fun for right now, but we know it will be well worth it and they will be able to join us next time.
Wed. before we left Chelsea and Isaac went to the Dr. they heard the babies heart beat and had a sonogram done, its too early to find out the sex of the baby but you can see the little head, belly, arms, and legs, it is so cool and Chels said she really knows that she is pg now :)) We are grateful that she has only had a few days of morning sickness and that is only if she doesn't eat.
We are feeling very blessed, and are grateful for amazing family and friends. Hope your all having a great summer.

Maybe it was coincidence... -someone has said, “Coincidence is a small miracle in which God chooses to remain anonymous” ("One Thing Needful" Oct. 1987 Patricia Holland).
So for these miracles , we should not remain anonymous to Him, give thanks to Him from whom all miracles large and small come.
Life is good.

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Well its been a week or two since I last posted any thing here, the news I guess is that SCHOOL is OUT! So far it has been a quiet week , but that is only because Greg, and Colin are off on super activities with teachers and priest groups.
Our Meg finished her CNA course and took her state certification test and pasted with 94% on the written, and 100% clinical, yeah way to go Meg , we are so happy for you!!!
Other good news is that Chelsea is now 8wks along and has had no morning sickness, we are so thankful for that, she has her first doctors appointment Monday so we are excited to hear all there is about things, although it is early we are excited!
Both Greg and Colin had agreat school year and their grades were awesome!! We are thankful for their commitments to stick with it.
Summer is going to be busy , Greg in summer school, hopefully a EFY session and a job. Colin is in weight training for football all summer and he is going on the "Joseph Smith Legacy Tour" they fly from here to NY and tour all the church history sights from NY to Kansas city. they get to go to the Navuoo temple and do baptisms, we are really excited for him to have this experience.
Dave and I hope to have a sneak away weekend for some relaxation and golf. We are trying to get everybodies scheduels together so we can have a family trip some time in July.
That is what we are up to.
If you read our blog please leave us a note so we know who passing by. We'd love to hear from you.

Saturday

Great day! Dave the boys and I, finally had a Saturday to get yard work and cleanup done, Dave and the boys took loads of stuff the the dump and DI and had lunch at the favorite Petes, and I worked on the yard. It was so nice to be outside, and not too hot. Dave found kittens and mama out in our back yard, he transplanted them to the yard next door, (the house is empty) so they'd feel less threatened.
We went to Kaleb's baptism today it was good to be with Kevin and Amie, Bob and Debbie, Teresa and Justin, Becky and Amies mom Sister Ensign. A very nice day!

Montgomery Family

Well we have decided to take the plunge and start our blog. We have seen some very cute ones that family, and friends have made, so that is alot of pressure , first to make a blog, and second to make it cute.
Where to start, I guess a little family intro.
Dave and Tammy just celebrated their 26th anniversary, Feb. 13th.
Dave keeps very busy with his promotion in 2007 to Deputy Fire Chief at the Apache Junction Fire District, and he is serving as second counselor in our Stake Presidency. We are so blessed to have him as a husband and dad!! he really takes care of us and we love him so much. He does get in a round of golf once in a while, but it is never often enough.
I am so blessed to be a stay at home mom these days, and I love it too, I feel my time with baking for a small home decor store, and keeping up with everybody. I just received a new calling to teach the nine year olds (11 of them) in primary and I am loving it.
Our two daughters are married, Meg and Jared Brown Nov.12,2005 ~~~~ Chelsea and Isaac Bawden May 18,2007, they live close by, so we get the privileged of having them most Sunday's for dinner and visits quite often durning the week , we love that they are close and that they like to come home.
Meg is pursuing nursing school right now and dabbles in scrap booking , flower arranging and decorating their home in Gilbert, and Jared is a Well Tech for the town of Queen Creek and loves his job. He and his dad are revamping a VW dune buggy, talented guy!!
Chels is working for an orthodontics as chair side asst.and has been teaching RS in their ward, quite scary for a newly wed, but she has done a fantastic job. Ise just bought "Willis Carpet Cleaning" business with his dad and is running that and going to school full time. So you see both couples are busy with life, might I add our daughters picked well, our son-in-laws are awesome!!!
Our two boys are keeping us busy too, Greg has been playing tennis for Highland High School and is very involved in Concert Choir (girls), he is wrapping up his junior year and has made us proud with his good grades this year. He keeps us all entertained with his crazy humor, and "Nacho quotes" , he doesn't believe me when I say he gets it from his dad.
Colin is a freshman, and plays football year round it seems with all the weights and conditioning they do it is year round. He is looking forward to playing JV this next school year and will have the opportunity to take a trip this summer to a football camp in Showlow, and the trip of a life time with a youth group to see many church history sights , starting in New York and finishing up in Independence, Mo.
I think the summer is filling up too fast already. We are hoping to have a Family Montgomery reunion at our house in Vernon over the 4th of July and we are looking forward that, and hopefully get a trip in to California too. Well that is about it for our intro. Now lets see if I can...
