Hokie Baby

We cheered for the Hokies in spirit last night as they played in the Peach Bowl. Unfortunately to no avail. Paxton will be outfitted in Hokie apparel until he arrives on campus as a freshman thanks to Pop, the biggest Hokie fan we know.

Happy New Year everyone!

Baby's First Christmas

Paxton's arrival made Christmas extra special this year. We started a new family tradition on Christmas Eve. Bryce read the story of the birth of Christ from the Bible and I read "Twas the Night Before Christmas". Paxton was the first up Christmas morning when he needed to be fed at 1am. But then he let us sleep until 5 which is pretty good at this point. Pop and Uncle Mark came and Granna made a Christmas lunch for us.

The Birth of John Paxton Dublin

Bryce and I arrived at the hospital at 5:30am on Wednesday, December 20th for a planned Cesarian delivery of our baby. At 8:17am John Paxton Dublin was born. Bryce was able to get this great photo of the first time we saw him.

Bryce held Paxton next to me for the rest of the surgery. When I went to recovery Bryce went with Paxton to the nusery to be weighed. We were expecting a big baby at around 9lbs but everyone was shocked when he weighed in at 11lbs 4oz. I still haven't figured out how he fit inside of me!

We were blessed with a healthy and safe delivery and Bryce was able to bring Paxton to me in recovery where I held him for the first time.

After 3 nights in the hospital we came home yesterday. Bryce got Paxton loaded in the car seat and we were home bound. It is so nice to be home just in time for Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who was praying for us. We feel so extremely blessed with our new son.

4 more days

So I've decided to become a blogger. 2007 is going to be a big year for us and I think this will be the best way for me to keep up with all of our friends and family during this exciting time.

If nothing happens between now and Wednesday, Bryce and I will go to the hospital on Wednesday, December 20th and have a baby! I am definitely ready, only four more days of pregnancy. Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery for both me and our baby boy.
