Christmas in Richmond

We got to celebrate Christmas again in Richmond with Pop and Uncle Mark.  Paxton started working on Legos right away while Uncle Mark helped Taylor with her klipity klop house.  Joshua was excited to get a basketball of his own.  Both the boys are looking forward to playing basketball in January.  While we were at Pop's house, Paxton built a Lincoln log town and Joshua read to Pop.  It was a good trip but we were all ready to get back home to Daddy.  He stayed home to get caught up at work.

Christmas Day

Paxton was the first up Christmas morning.  He waited patiently for his siblings to awaken.  We got Mawmaw up and situation downstairs and finally let the kids run down to see what was there.  The boys were both thrilled with their nerf bows and Taylor went right to her critter cottage.  Taylor was especially in to opening presents this year.  We had to watch her carefully because she would unwrap any present she could get her hands on.  Kevin joined us for a yummy brunch after all the presents were opened.  The afternoon consisted of lounging around and playing with new toys and games before bidding farewell to Kevin as well as Mawmaw and Granna.

Christmas Eve

After attending Christmas Eve service at church we came home and had dinner with Granna and Mawmaw who had arrived while we were gone.  After dinner the kids each opened one present, Christmas pajamas.  We concluded the evening with our traditional readings.  This year Paxton recited Luke 2:1-14 by memory and I read Twas the Night Before Christmas.  The kids were tired and fell asleep quickly.  So did Bryce but I had to awaken him to help get the boy's nerf guns (from Santa Bebe) ready for the big reveal in the morning.

Paxton's 8th Birthday

Today is Paxton's 8th birthday.  It seems like just yesterday we were headed to the hospital to have our almost Christmas baby.  We celebrated with a little family party yesterday since Granna and Pop were here for the Christmas pageant at school.  Bryce and Paxton are at the third Hobbit movie now as the conclusion to his festivities.  It can be a bummer having your birthday so close to Christmas but Paxton has gotten to celebrate all month long!

Bebe's Visit

Bebe came for a visit last weekend.  She babysat Friday night so Bryce and I could attend a Christmas party.  Saturday morning the boys put together their new light up legos while Taylor played with her princess castle.  Bryce needed to go into work Saturday afternoon so Bebe and I took the kids to see Big Hero 6.  Then Bryce met us for dinner afterwards.  Sunday evening we went to see a live nativity.  It was neat and the kids got a kick out of petting the goat.
