Game Day

Granna fixed a hot breakfast this morning before we headed over to Pop's house for the Virginia Tech bowl game.  The kids got to open a few more presents, including baseball cards and Mickey and Minnie mouse jackets.  Uncle Mark came over too and delivered personalized wallets to each of them: P money, J man, and T dog.  Quynh came over and brought a chicken tender dinner along with chocolate pie for dessert.  Neither Quynh nor Taylor were that interested in the game so they played dolls instead.  We had fun cheering for our Hokies and celebrating Christmas with Pop.

Christmas at Granna's

We had Christmas at Granna's today.  Paxton, Joshua, and Taylor were excited to open more presents.  They were all excited to get some Christmas cash from Uncle Wade.  The boys got to work right away building more Legos and Taylor started dressing her baby doll in some new clothes.  We had yummy food and lots of fun playing games and watching movies.

Merry Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun this year.  Taylor got another "American Girl" doll and a canopy doll bed.  We surprised the boys with remote control cars and also got them Lego sets and Nerf guns.  Bryce took the kids shopping to get me jewelry and I got him his own ear buds.  We had fun spending the morning in our Christmas pajamas.  This afternoon we went to see the new Star Wars movie.  It was awesome!  We have had a full and fun day celebrating Christmas.

Christmas Eve

We got home from Greenville in time to attend a Christmas Eve service.  We came home and had a nice dinner.  Joshua declared that he likes drinking out of the fancy glasses.  After dinner Paxton, Joshua, and Taylor recited Luke 2:1-20 and  read Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Once the kids were in bed, Bryce and I got things ready for tomorrow morning.  Thankfully only minor assembly required.  Can't wait to see their reactions in the morning.

Trip to Greenville

We went to Greenville yesterday to visit Aunt Maggie, Uncle Guy and Alex.  Uncle Guy's sister, Loretta, was there as well as Pop.  Maggie fixed a delicious Christmas dinner and even sat at the kid table.  My kids loved spending time with Alex.  He played Headbands with them last night.  This morning Maggie and I got to play a round of Headbands after a rousing game of Apples to Apples, Paxton's favorite.  It was a sweet and fun time.

Paxton is 11!

We started celebrating Paxton's birthday on Friday with Pop, Granna, and Bebe.  We had a special birthday dinner followed by chocolate pie for dessert.  Paxton got two new Lego sets and wasted no time putting them together.  He got the Cars 3 movie on Friday and then got the Lego Ninjago movie today on his actual birthday.  We had a pajama popcorn movie party for him this morning and watched the new movie together.  Paxton has grown and matured a lot over the last year.  He is officially 5'2" and as tall as Granna!  We affectionately refer to him as our gentle giant.  He has allowed himself to be stretched and challenged and has embraced the role of a leader in 5th grade with confidence.  We continue to be incredibly proud of the young man he is becoming.
