HA HA HA!!!!

Yippy skip! Finals are over! We both passed all our classes with flying colors! Woo-hoo! This was a tough semester. Lots and lots of information! Let's see, best and worst of the semester...

Melia's List...
My bio class qualifies for best and worst. This class was all about birds. Assignments for the year...
--observe 100 different species of birds throughout the semester
--exams were creative essays about birds, snakes, fish, bats, etc.
--final was 50 questions of bird recognition and other super random info about birds
*** The reason this class qualifies as best and worst because it was super easy, my teacher was HILARIOUS, but I'm not quite sure if I learned anything.***

Worst test grade... Family Finance.. 28% folks! Read em and weep!

Best class as far as applicable info goes... Work and Relationships in the Home.
--Super hard class but I loved it. It has totally made my life different, and hope that the things I have learned will continue to influence my life.

Weirdest teacher... Marriage Enhancement.
--My whole class knows WAAAAAY too much about his personal life. No questions please!

Class I goofed off in the most... Gold 2 Latin.
--I was in this class with some of my best friends and all of us already knew the routines. I loved this class!

Devin's List...
Best class overall... All of them (he's ridiculous)
-- It was nice having one class from every subject that I've studied in college (economics, family science, psychology, and statistics). It helped me remember more of what I've learned.

Worst class... Maybe abnormal psychology (I'm shocked that he gave an answer in this category)
--I really liked the class but the class periods were 2 1/2 hours long. Yikes! (Comment of Melia).

Worst test grade... Combined quiz scores in psychology
--They were open book quizzes but I saved money by not buying the book. Tehehe!

Most perspective altering class... International Trade Theory
--A lot of people protest globalization without really thinking critically about what the problem is. I like how economists analyze a problem and seek the most efficient solution before they try to solve it.

Best teacher... International Trade Theory or Doctrine and Covenants
--Dr. Kearl (Econ) is just an amazing teacher - he has a contagious enthusiasm and confidence for whatever he teaches (like economics). He got me to change my major to economics way back when (But apparently he wasn't that good because Devin changed his major to psychology)
--Dr. Fluhman also has a contagious enthusiasm for what he teaches and he is hilarious. One quote from the semester, "I'll see your Paul and raise you a Jesus", talking about Bible-bashing. He also is good at addressing gospel principles that Latter-Day Saints think they understand but maybe don't (usually don't).

Class I goofed off in the most... Family Finance
--Okay, so I didn't goof off IN class because we never went to class. (Hey, maybe that's why I did so well on that second midterm... got it!)

Yep, so that's it for us. We had a good semester, learned a lot and are so glad that it has finally stopped snowing here! It's about time!

Boy or Girl... what do you think?

We went to the doctor's last week, we already knew why I was feeling sick but it's nice to have a picture of the culprit... don't you think!?!?! The baby was moving around a lot and we got to see its heartbeat which was really cool. So, we're really excited like really, really, REALLY excited! The due date is November 12, which means that when we visit our family for Christmas, there will be 3 of us! WOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our lives lately...

General Conference came and went with lots and lots of cinnamon rolls! This is me in my Aunt Jemima headband making the cinnamon rolls (Devin did all the hard work of mixing the dough and helped out with the assembly but he took a quick break to take the picture). The cinnamon rolls were SOOOO GOOOOOD!!! The talks were pretty good too!!! Devin is now a professional lemonade maker. He squeezed the lemons which came fresh off some dead guy's tree in Arizona and mixed and tasted and mixed and tasted and made the perfect lemonade! Don't you all wish you had this talent?! BYU Ballroom Dance in Concert was this last weekend. Thanks to it, I had so much homework to do today but it was totally worth it! We danced a tango (seen Mr. & Mrs. Smith? It's that song that they dance to near the end). It was pretty hot but not as hot as a little latin number would have been. But we danced well and had a really good time. Devin, Grandma, and the David Paulson gang all came and watched me on Saturday. It was really fun to dance for them. This picture is me, Amie, and Stefanie... they're my best buds on the team. Stefanie was a Cougarette for 4 years... she's amazing! I'll miss dancing and goofing off with my friends. But I've sure had a good time dancing here at BYU! Lots and lots of fun memories!
This is my whole team, except for 1 girl who was standing to the side feeling bad for herself... oh drama on the dance team... and a couple other people, I don't know where they were. I know you don't believe it but I'm really in that picture! Actually I'm the girl in the middle not angled... missed that memo I guess!!!
For part of our activity tonight for FHE, Devin and I found out the things that girls can do that boys can't. Try this, stand with your bum against the wall and try to lift a chair. How'd it go guys? Bet you couldn't do it.
Hey Ladies, did you have any problems? Probably not! Center of gravity baby! It's pretty different in girls and guys. So if you need something to brag about.....
... just stand against the wall and pick up that chair with pride!

Arizona!!!

No pictures again, because I'm TERRIBLE at remembering to take the time to take pictures! So, our trip to AZ was AMAZING!!! Highlights from the trip... --- Picking lemons from a lemon tree at some old guy's house (who unfortunately died since last time)... Thanks for the lemons though!!! --- Going to the Phx Zoo. Got some great color on my skin and saw a ton of birds (requirement for my bio class) --- Swimming in the pool and then laying out to dry off... heavenly! --- Seeing cute Gaelyn. She's 5 months now and is seriouslly the cutest thing in the world! Happiest baby I've ever met! I wish that I would have taken pictures because she's beautiful... olive skin, long eyelashes, dark hair, cute smile, tutor-face (thanks Sam for that phrase, it has changed my life). --- Being with Glen and Sasha. They are so fun! And always seem happy to be with us, even if they're not... I would never know. --- Sasha's mashed potatoes. I have never seen them so creamy and white. Delish! --- Being with my mom. She's not afraid to knock on people's doors and ask if we can pick fruit. She just has the best ideas of things to do and carrys through with those ideas, which may be the most important part and something I need to work on. --- Skipping class... nuff said!!! --- Being connected at the hip to Devin for a couple of days... brought to you in part by having no responsibilities. I loved this part! So yep! That was our trip. We had the best time! And the weather was amazing, maybe even better because it was snowing here in Provo while we were gone... glad to have missed that.
