Blanco's Tacos and Tequila

On Saturday we had our "Culinary Adventure" as Dusty loves to call it at Blanco's Tacos and Tequila in Scottsdale. This is one of the 85 Best Restaurants in Phoenix, and it was GOOD however the service wasn't that great. We sat out on the patio and saw about 10 different waiters before one offered to take our drink orders.

When they named this restaurant one of the 85 they also mentioned to have their cheese crips cause they are to die for. AND I am here to say that yes, yes they are to die for. We had the Chipotle Shrimp and Corn cheese crip.

We shared the Carnitas tacos with pico de Gallo and Crema Fresca
and the Grilled Fish tacos with avocado and Pico de Gallo

Visiting the Terry's

Last weekend we went and visited Rusty, Jessica and Dax since they have been staying in Page we thought it would be a quick ride up and then be able to hang out then a quick ride home. Well, we have learned our lesson about checking the weather of not only our destination but the cities in between. I had looked up how the weather would be in Page so I would know what kind of clothes to take, I didn't think to look up Flagstaff which was in between us and Page.

This was the picture I took after we had just slid off the road going about 60, I thought for sure we were going to roll and or die. We were going to fast and started sliding so instead of hitting the semi in the lane next to us Dusty slid us into the median and then we were stuck in the snow. He had to get out and push and finally got us out and then I decided to stop in the middle of a mud river and we happened to get stuck there to. So Dusty had to push us out again, he was wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt. Poor guy, but we were ok and that is all that matters :) Another reminder of why we live in Arizona and do not have to deal with the snow.

Cortez came with us and he hates HATES it when Dusty chews gum. I don't know why but he can't stand to even look at him when he has gum in. Dusty happened to be chewing gum and so Cortez decided to climb up on my shoulder so he didn't have to look at Dusty. I thought it was funny so I took a picture. He thought he was a parrot.

Dusty and all the mud on his legs and shoes because of pushing us out

And my best friends Pride and Joy, meet Dax Rusty Terry :)

Thanks for letting is visit Jess and Rusty, we will be making a visit soon once the weather wants to cooperate with us.

My Valentines Day

I had a pretty AWESOME Valentines Day, I consider myself pretty lucky in life to be married to my husband and to always have him as my Valentine. As you can see over the weekend we had went to a bed a breakfast to celebrate. I had school on Monday night and was pretty excited when I got my first test back with 100% across the top. When I got home Dusty was making me dinner.

Dusty never has to send me flowers on Valentines because my Mom and Fred always get me flowers and make sure I have some fresh ones every year. It is a gorgeous arrangement.

This is our dessert, Dusty's version of homemade Blueberry Pie, in a smaller version.
We had watched My Blueberry Pie on Sunday and so he decided to make some.
Dinner: Salad with red peppers and tomotoes, homemade chicken cordon blue and french bread with mozarella

Jerome, AZ

For Valentines we decided to go and check out Jerome. We have never been and have several friends that go to this little town on a regular basis. We stayed at a little bed a breakfast, and it was amazing. For those of you who don't know where Jerome is at it is about 90 mins north west of Phoenix just west of Cottonwood. It is built on the side of the mountain and is a old miners town.

This is our room, it was so cozy and warm

Our bathroom

The view from some of the shops as the sun was going down

At the end of the street is a restaurant that we eat at. My camera died and so no pictures of our amazing food.

Some of the streets there

This is a old film player, it was so cool looking

Flat Stanley

My little niece sent me a Flat Stanley yesterday and I am just so excited about him. For those of you who have no clue...which was me before yesterday Flat Stanley is a kid that got smashed by his bulletin board and was flattened. So his parents stuck him in the mail and sent him to explore the world. Well lucky for me my Stanley is here in Mesa, AZ.

So I am asking for some help from everyone...I wonna make this exciting for Lacy. So this little guy is laminated already to be thrown into my purse and go on an adventure for a week.
First stop my work and then he is off to be seen by the dentist.

I'd love any comments, suggestions or ideas of where my Stanley can go this week!

Christams Dinner...late I know

I just wonna say, I know I am late for the post but I was going through my pictures and noticed I hadn't blogged about The annual Christmas dinner with the primerib cook off between Dusty's dad and sister Alicia. This is a new tradition also that his dad and sister are starting, making their own piece of primerib and see who can make it the best.

This is Larry's and I must say both primeribs were delicious! I can't wait for next year.

Oh and Alicia's cheesecake that she made and decorated herself...amazing ymmmy!
