A Broken Heart

What a whirl wind these past few months have been. About 2 years ago Danny had a strange, unexplained attach of "vertigo" where he got really sick and really dizzy and couldn't work or walk of stand for that matter for about a week. We couldn't figure out what it was, we took him to the emergency room and they said it was "labyrinthitis"? So after he got feeling better we didn't really worry about it until a year and a half later when it hit again, and even worse. It took him about a month to recover after going to rehab to get his balance back, with the dizziness never fully leaving. I felt like he was a ticking time bomb for it to happen again, and I was terrified. We just felt that it was more that just "vertigo" and started visiting with some doctors about it. Long story short and lots of doctor visits later, and being afraid of it being a brain tumor, MS or lots of other things, they discovered Danny had a hole in his heart. I didn't know if that was good news or bad news but at least it was something that could be fixed. So last week we went up to Murray to the hospital there, met with the surgeon and had the hole in his heart, which ended up being about the size of a quarter, fixed. We also discovered that the "vertigo attacks" he had had were actually strokes! So scary to think about at his age. He is doing really great considering he had heart surgery a week ago. But needless to say we are so grateful for amazing medical advances and great friends and family that have supported us through the whole thing!

Skiing in Brian Head

We took the boys up to Brian Head about a month ago to let Hunter ski for the first time. At that age you can get a free lift ticket and a free ski rental so we thought why not? He is only 3 so we didn't know how well he would do or if he would even like it. But he LOVED it! And he did really well. Danny just took him on a little rolling hill and he went over and over again. Danny had to finally send him on a path where he would crash so he would want to stop, but he still didn't! We had so much fun watching him! These moments make all the horrible moments worth it, right moms?
