First Time at the Movies

Today was both the girls' first time at the movies. We went with my mom and nieces and nephew to see Horton Hears a Who. Malco does the Summer Film Fest for kids, and I don't know why I haven't taken Meyers before.

I always thought she would need to be really into whatever the movie was for her to like it. Like if it was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, we would be all over that, but there haven't been any movies that have come out lately that I thought she would like. The summer film fest movies are $2 a piece, so I figured we would try it out.

Meyers loved it! She laughed whenever the other kids did. All day long, she has talked about going to the movies again! Emery did as well as a wild 17 month old could do, but I will be getting a sitter for her the next time we go back. Too much work! Maybe we can try again next summer with her:)

Concert in the Park and Farm Park

Last summer, we were adjusting to having a second baby and we didn't take advantage of the fun things there are to do in our little city.

We are slightly more adjusted these days:), so we can do things like that now. On Tuesday, we went to a concert in the park not too far from us. It was so fun! We picked up some food and met our friends there. It was such a great night to be outside; it wasn't hot at all. The music was mostly oldies and they threw in the Cupid Shuffle there at the end. The girls thought this giant dance party was too fun!

Sweet friends!

Dancing machines!

On Thursday, we went to dinner with the same friends (minus the dads) at Holiday Ham (kids eat free nights are the best!). After that we went to the first night of the farmer's market at Farm Park. It was so neat; it kind of felt like we were in Stars Hollow - from Gilmore Girls - it was very "small town" feeling. There was a tiny little band, food trucks, and lots of vendors with produce and organic meat. My favorite Mexican restaurant was even there with their yummy chips and quacamole. The girls loved looking at the chickens and the vegetable gardens.

More dancing:)

Emery was there, too. She just never made it out of the stroller:)

Fun stuff!
