Disney World Day 2 - Hollywood Studios

We went to Hollywood Studios on day 2. I was super excited about HS because my girls are big Disney Jr. fans. They love it all but Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia, Jake, and Doc are their favorites.

Getting ready to go:) John is a great daddy, but he is a FANTASTIC girl daddy!

Loved their Sofia outfits!

It was so nice to walk in HS and it not be so crowded. Again - it was not a crowded time, but there are just so many more people at the Magic Kingdom each day. I have a cute picture of us in front of the hat, but it's on the Memory Maker that I'm still working on getting fixed. Our first fast pass was for the Disney Jr. Live Show. We were going to stop at Sofia's character spot and waited for a few minutes before deciding to get in line for the show. That put us at the front of the line for the show, so we got right down front.  Disney Jr. Live is basically a big puppet show with a host and skits from the girls' favorites - MM Clubhouse, Sofia, Doc, and Jake. Meyers likes the princesses, but she loves these Disney Jr. characters. We are always pretending and acting out scenes from her favorite episodes (clearly we probably watch too much TV!), so she was in heaven being there to see her favorite characters and getting to be involved (calling toodles, singing, looking for tic toc croc). It was so much fun! Both girls loved it! And John and I were those parents that sang along and knew all the words to the theme songs. Nice!

waiting for it to start

We were pretty close!

I mean.....look at that face!

This one is pretty excited, too!

After the show, we went to ride Toy Story Mania. So.Much.Fun!!!!! The ride is a little jerky. I had to hang onto Emery each time it would turn to another screen. The girls were too little to be able to shoot the toy guns and aim and they were still not interested in wearing 3D glasses,  but they still liked it. John and I LOVED it!

We walked around after that, and Meyers did some hoola hooping. So did I, but thankfully, that was not captured on film:) We went to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area next. We probably could have saved some money and just done this for 5 days because the girls thought it was SO great! It was fun, but it made me a little nervous keeping track of them because there were so many tunnels and twists and turns. Meyers cried when it was time to leave, so we made sure to come back later in the day.

Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area

There were American Idol tryouts going on that day at HS. On our way to
lunch, these AI crew stopped us and asked if we minded them filming some
girl trying out singing and interacting with our kids. Meyers was not
interested, but Emery hopped right out of the stroller and danced with
this girl while she sang:) How random is that?!

American Idol hopeful and AI crew

After we were seranaded:), we went to our lunch at Hollywood and Vine. I was SO excited about this lunch with all the Disney Jr. characters. I knew from the day before that Meyers was not a fan of the costumed characters, so I wasn't sure how it would go. She was fine to get up and dance near them, but she still wasn't a big fan of hugging them. As fun as the characters were, this was a hectic meal. This was probably the least organized character meal we went to. We saw everybody sometimes twice, but we had to wait it out for Doc. It was stressing me out, because Emery was so tired but I was not leaving without seeing Doc:) Turns out it was a good thing, because I was able to get Emery to sleep while we waited for probably 20-30 more minutes for Doc to make her way to us. And miracle of miracles, she even transferred to the stroller afterwards without waking up!

Chubby little finger spotting Sofia from across the room:)

Sofia!! We have a character spot picture with her with us all and we are all looking at the camera on our Memory Maker.

Handy Manny!

Smiles for Jake!!

Parade with Sofia!

LOVE this picture of Meyers dancing. It was like she finally relaxed and had fun:)

FINALLY Doc made it to us just in time for Emery to be OUT!

Looks like she's doing some good sleeping:)

We left Hollywood and Vine, and John and I took turns riding Rockin Roller Coaster in the single rider line.  The single rider line was perfect for us since our girls were too short to ride any big rides, and the single rider lines are so short, but riding roller coasters by yourself is kind of anti-climatic. It's a little strange and you feel like a weirdo standing in the single rider line waiting to ride with some other family by yourself:) I'm glad we were able to ride some big things, but it would have been more fun to ride together.

After we finished, Emery was still sleeping, so we took Meyers back to Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area. I went in with her, while John strolled Emery. She woke up a little while later and got to play too. We watched the Beauty and the Beast show next, and it was really cute. I wasn't sure if it would hold Emery's attention, but it did.

watching Beauty and the Beast

On our way to our last FP of the day, we jumped in the short line to see Sofia and Jake at their character spots. The last thing we did was the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We ate a quick service dinner at the ABC Commissary where the girls did a little WWE action (thank goodness it wasn't crowded) paid way too much for two mickey balloons, and went back to our resort for an early night. I think the exhaustion from the day before had caught up to us:)

This is what happens when it takes forever for John to get our food and I'm "over'" it:)

It was a mix of loving on each other and wrestling:)

We took out a 2nd mortgage to pay for these! Ha! John said that was the last time he would tell the girls they could get something without asking how much first:) They WERE pretty cute balloons, but I think they were like $16 a piece! Geez!

We loved sneaking in to see the girls asleep every night. They were holding hands until John took the picture.

Favorites:

Meyers:Hugging Jake at his character spot (I don't have the picture yet, but she gained some courage between our lunch and seeing him that afternoon. He was the first costumed character that she willingly hugged and got close to:) and Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area.

Disney World Day 1 - Magic Kingdom

This blogging about our Disney trip is overwhelming! Maybe I'll finish sometime soon:) The Memory Maker (apparently it used to be called Photo Pass) is in the process of changing. We had purchased the Memory Maker in advance, but there is no record of it. Our planner is trying to work on that for us, but as of right now I can't get those pictures downloaded.

On our first day (Monday), we went to the Magic Kingdom. I think this is the only day we were at any park when the ropes dropped. We got there in time to see some of the opening ceremony and that was super fun to watch. I thought the weather down there would feel a little cooler. Thank goodness I packed a few pairs of shorts for me and the girls had on things that could be layered in case it was cool (which is was not until the last two days). It was really warm that day!

Emery immediately started squealing/screaming the character's names.

Cinderella's castle:)

After getting our picture made in front of the castle, we went straight in and rode a couple of things that we did not have a fast pass for/didn't need one. I didn't realize Peter Pan's Flight was a popular ride that you need a FP for usually (I didn't pay attention that we had one for it on Friday), so we jumped in the short line. It was super cute. The girls liked it.

waiting in line for Peter Pan's Flight

After Peter Pan's Flight, we rode It's a Small World, which is one of my favorites. I just love all the little people, the music, and the different scenes from the countries. Everyone liked that a lot:) We went to Mickey's Philharmagic before our fast passes started. John and I really liked it. The girls wouldn't wear the 3D glasses, but they acted like they had fun. Our first FP was for Ariel's Grotto. She was our first character we saw, so that made it even more fun and special. It was a little rushed more than the ones we experienced the rest of the week, but if was still fun. I thought Ariel was so cute!! She looked like Topanga from Boy Meets World:) One thing that impressed me all week with the princesses was how they stay in character and just go with whatever kids (and parents, too) say. They aren't just pretty girls - some of them were so quick with their comebacks and things they said.

After leaving Ariel, we went right next door to Journey of the Little Mermaid. That was fun to do right after we met Ariel.

It was still morning, but we had a few meltdowns at Dumbo. They have this amazing indoor circus-themed play area (which I think is relatively new, but not sure). The Dumbo line was not long, so I wanted to go ahead and get in line, but Meyers wanted to play. We finally convinced her that we would go back in and play after we rode Dumbo.  I don't think she was completely happy until we were on Dumbo. That was our first "big" ride. She loved it! I have the cutest video of her just giggling and laughing the whole time. We did go back in and play on the playground, and they both loved that, too.

happy on Dumbo

John's first time on Dumbo:)

After Dumbo, we ate a quick lunch. We ate at Cosmic Ray's which was right near the Teacups. We got to see Alice in Wonderland walk by a few times. Meyers knows who that is, but was content to just watch her walk by instead of getting in line to see her:) After lunch, we rode the Teacups. Like Dumbo, we waited maybe 10 minutes to ride. This was such a great time to go crowd wise. It felt crowded when you were pushing a double stroller around, but the wait times were so quick on things, so it was obviously not that crowded. The girls loved the Teacups! And I did, too, even though we spun a little too fast to have just eaten lunch:)

sweet smile

I love this!

Love that look on her face!!!

Emery wanted a chance to spin:)

We kind of stumbled upon Pete's Silly Sideshow. I had no intention of going on. I didn't realize the characters were in there. We got to see Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. This was our first time seeing costumed characters and Meyers was not a fan! We have a bunch of pictures of meeting them on our Memory Maker whenever I get that straightened out. I'm so glad we went in there. I would have liked it better if they weren't all dressed up - I think Daisy was a gypsy, I can't remember what the others were, but it was still fun and very short wait times to see them.

Emery squealed and squealed meeting them!

We were hoping at least Emery and hopefully Meyers might take a nap so we could take turns riding some of the "big" rides, but that didn't happen. They were both so tired, but they wouldn't nap so we headed over to Adventure Land and rode Aladdin's Magic Carpet. Meyers really loved this because of the Sofia episode where Sofia and Amber ride on a magic carpet:)

love this smile!

sun's in her eyes, but she was having so much fun!!!

Our last FP for the day was for Enchanted Tale's with Belle. Oh my goodness! This was so fun! You go into this tiny room which is Maurice's workshop and all of the sudden, a small mirror on the wall turns into a huge opening for us to go through. And then we are in this room with the wardrobe (below) talking to us. Craziness! I know it made it even more fun for us because both of our girls (and John) got picked to be in the skit. John and Emery were Maurice when he was in jail and Meyers was Chip.

John and Emery practicing before we went into the library.

Belle acts out the whole skit and comes over to the "guest characters" and interacts with them.

Meyers had to hop up to Belle holding her Chip teacup - SO cute!

Afterwards, only the people who got picked to be in the skit got pictures with Belle. Again - those are on my Memory Maker, but I got a few good ones on my phone,

I'm obsessed with the picture of Meyers and Belle!!

Earlier in the day, we caught the last part of the Dream Along with Mickey show in front of the castle. We were walking by the castle a few minutes before another show started later in the day and got great spots to watch the whole show this time. Meyers looks mesmerized! And a little sleepy, too:)

Emery liked the show too:)

We all rode the carousel before we left for our dinner at Chef Mickey's.

We left the Magic Kingdom and walked our tired selves over to the Contemporary to eat at Chef Mickey's. This was our first "table service" and our first character meal. Somehow the girls were still trucking through, but it was kind of a hectic dinner. Meyers was still not a fan of the characters in full (heads too) costume, so that's why she's not in hardly any of these pictures. That sort of stressed me out because I was like these pictures are what we've paid for because it certainly wasn't the food:) But I got over it and decided I didn't want to be the mom that made my child cry for getting next to Mickey. What can you do?

Does this picture show my stress level?? I think so. Me trying to hold 65 pounds of children while John took the picture:)

I didn't want my screaming children to offend Goofy, so I took a picture with him:)

Emery started warming up a little as long as I was holding her.

Oh, Donald....such a cutie:)

LOVE this picture!! So fun!

We made sure to show Minnie that we had Minnie on our clothes:)

After Chef Mickey's, we tried watching the fireworks from one of their viewing decks, but the girls were so tired, and just didn't really care for them. So we headed back to our resort thoroughly exhausted with smiles on our faces. Seriously - it is the happiest place on earth!!!

Favorites (I asked Meyers every night what her favorite thing was and we just guessed Emery's):

Meyers: Meeting Minnie - yes, she really said that even though she wouldn't take a picture with her!
